Guurzak
If my opponent fires off an offensive cooldown (+crit) and I fire off a defensive cooldown (+shield), at the same time, why does his have full effect while mine has none? That seems sharply prejudiced against tank-spec characters and defensive play: it means that stacking shield chance is useless/counterproductive against competent opponents. It seems to me that it would make a lot more sense to do some kind of mutual reduction when opposed crit+shield chance exceeds 100%. Perhaps hits that roll into the overlap space should be dropped back to a normal hit- or, better yet, apply the delta between the opposed surge and absorb scores and make it a shielded crit. With proper stacking of talented, worn, and activated bonuses, it's possible to approach 100% crit chance on some abilities. That those abilities become effectively unshieldable no matter how much a tank invests in the defensive complements of those bonuses just seems unreasonable.
