Nukor Posted January 9, 2012 Share Posted January 9, 2012 (edited) Hey everyone, I wanted to start this thread because I haven't seen any topics about it in the forums as of yet. I know that there's a lot of people out there that aren't happy with the amount of open world pvp, but I don't want this thread to become a venting ground, I want it to be simply a place where we can discuss the topic of large-scale, organized, open world pvp. I want to note that this kind of pvp barely exists right now for 2 main reasons; 1: People are too busy leveling up and/or grinding WZs.2: There's little to no organized events for this. Reason 1 will resolve on it's own, but I thought maybe we all could talk about getting large groups together to storm enemy cities. Massive player city raids have been amongst the funnest pvp events I've ever participated in and I believe others feel the same way. I'm a firm believer that open world pvp is up to the community to create/maintain, so let's show Bioware that this kind of pvp is really something we want and intend to do. If it's something that enough people are interested in, they will have a vested interest in improving our experience when doing things like city raiding. Not sure if at higher levels we can visit the homeworld of the opposing faction, but if that's not possible, there must be some location that would be suited enough for this kind of pvp. Ilum doesn't count because neither side "owns" the planet on a permanent basis. Personally I'd love to take my BH to Coruscant and kill every last player and NPC in the place, wouldn't you? Giondi Posted January 9, 2012 Share Posted January 9, 2012 You could be a total douche and take over one of the enemy faction's medcenters. Once they get some 50s to come over to fight you, it would be hard because they could always rez to where they already are and you have to either field rez (which takes a lot of time after you die a couple times) or run back and give them a chance to get more organized and heal up. Plus, they usually have some level 50 NPCs (I think they're golds) guarding the center that you would have to fight every time they respawn. Carver Posted January 9, 2012 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Just thought I'd add these 2 vids of my Guild involved in some un-organised Open world PvP. It started off with us just trying to work through Outpost Zaroshe killing the lvl 50 Champs in there. There were a few Imps watching who kept diving in on us and getting stomped due to numbers but eventually their numbers grew and gave us some great PvP action. We started recording while we gathered together for another push. No xp, no commendations, no loot just good old fashioned PvP Thanks to the Imperial Guilds 'Hells Elite Legion', 'Vortex Reborn' and 'Dekan' for all turning up when they heard we were trying to take the Outpost and for giving us a hell of a fight.
