How many buttons to attack for which class

Not complaining i actually enjoy the complexity of the Jedi Sentinel. Just trying to get an idea of which class his easier to manage.

I am running a Level 20 Jedi Sentinel at the moment skilled in watchman. Sometimes i take my armor off and fight naked or with just pants and accessories. at sub 20 i surely would fight naked all the time. the gear doesnt do much at that level in equalized PvP.

I am not boasting here just saying...

I run between 60k and 100k+ damage with no PvP gear which appears to put me in the mid to high ranks. I get 75k+ damage medals often enough. I got one medal for 2k+ damage in a hit. I feel i kill folks often enough to satisfy my need for PvP.

I find that the key presses make this class a little hard to play in PvP.

Hard to play = hard to get max benfit from.

start of combat at range.

  1. force leap
  2. activate zen
  3. activate rebuke
  4. slash or master strike. slash prefered mostly.

For each melee strike.

  1. try to ripost. just push the button. THe animation is wierd so... i have faith.
  2. periodically try to enable ZEN or Rebuke.
  3. slash untill i run out of focus.

This means i am mashing thos damn button like crazy and i to kep from having to try and figure out what i am doing i just do the button sequence and then hit the last button over and over untill it goes off. Sometime i will look at my focus to see what i need to do but generally i just cant do that while PvPing and i have to rely on see the attack happen or not. if not use a focus builder...

then there are the other attacks:

3 ranged attacks all on cooldowns.

2 snares 1 low damage 1 on a cooldown. ( any time snare aint bad.)

1 primary stun that never seems to work... Blade rush i think. I think master strike has a stun but i never see it work either.

I cant use force sweep as its AOE damage with a tiny CC. Great for breaking CC and making people immune to CC. I dont see any body else using it either.

Master strike can do a great amount of damage but getting someone to stand still for 3 secs is not easy.

So its complicated and button mash heavy and the animations are decieving but when squished together it works. I am not sure i can keep up with this though. i see that there are some other power ups and atacks coming down the chain and that means i wont be able to use all the power ups and attacks any longer. i just wont be able to manage it.

Whats the EULA say concerning macros?

What classes are easier to play?

Attack rotation in PvP for Mercenary/Commando:

1. Use Tracer Missile/Grav Round.

2. Win.

If group: Use Death From Above/Mortar Volley and Sweeping Blasters/Hail of Bullets.

Incendiary Missile, Rocket punch, railshot, jet boost, grapple, carbonize, guard, 3 buttons for stims/abilities to boost dmg (relic, stim, 25% crit ability), 1 button for heal pot, death from above, flame sweep, taunt, aoe taunt, rapid shots, flame burst, tracer missile.

I'd say I easily use 18+ buttons at least 3 times per PvP match. Naga makes doing so relatively simple.

To be honest, I didn't read your entire post, but yes, Sentinel/Maurader is the most "bloated" class in the game (I don't really mean that in a bad way though, since I like it too). Gunnery Commandos/Arsenal Mercs probably have the simplest rotation, which consists largely of spamming Grav Round/Tracer Missle.

Oh right.

Im not talking rotation i think.

Im saying i want to attack you and to do that i have to hit at least 3 buttons to get to minimum masxiumum damage.

each attack 3 buttons.

Class ease of useability can make a class appear to be over powered you know what i mean?

i only have a lvl 14 sentinal but i LOVE the PvP combat with this character. I am going watchman so that way I can have good sustained dmg and a relatively good chance to stay alive through my DoT heals and zen activation heals. I also love the fact I was 14 guarding a turret solo and a lvl 50 with no pvp gear pops out tries to kill me. I pop all defensive cooldowns and unload everything I have on him. end of fight. Me 90% life him dead.. prooof in pvp zone its not level that matters its skill and gear... I did not use any medpacs or stims but i was fully buffed from the start and when I activated my zen it did proc healing on me so I did have health coming back to me.

A lot of people say that Mercenaries only need one button, and that the class is intended to be that way. That's a bit of an exaggeration... but even a really good Mercenary who knows how to use his skills together for maximum effect is going to use a lot less buttons than a Marauder/Sentinel will. It's not a bad thing... it's just that the Marauder/Sentinel is a higher skill threshold class, which leaves more room for total domination.

I am hoping they do some buffering to abilities in pvp to make it to where its more skill based for everyone instead of button mashing of just hitting 3 skills over and over because nothing is worse than getting beat by a no skill player with him spamming one skill. its like in street fighter let me just hit this one button over and over because its hard to dodge or block or parry and win a fight.

thats 3 skills total. 2 more than the average BH/tropper will use

Don't generalize! You mean Mercenary/Commando! Powertech/Vanguard is a totally different story. I as PT use - and have to use - a lot ability, I don't count but I had headache to organize them onto the actionbars effectivelly and also keybind them for effective usage.

So DONT TAKE ALL BH/Trooper under the same umbrella!

I was going watchman too. Primarily for the tweaks to force leap it offeres.

12 sec cool down with no min range increases its use a good deal.

But i have yet to see the 1% heals make much of a difference. Maybe i just dont see it.

It really is important to note in a class the difficulty in playin it.

If all i did was use the powerups when i was ready to use them they would rarely be on.

I have to hit them constantly to make sure they are enabled when they can be.

Otherwise the sentinel is fairly satisfying but i cant imagine playing it without a complicated keymapping or gaming pad/mouse.

Even in PvE.

haha what is funny is the average BH in pvp i see sit there and spam that tracer ability over and over as soon as they can.. and never hit another ability untill i stealth away then there all about that flame thrower.

yeah I have a naga mouse fully mapped out and i also use keys like r f c cntrl and alt rebinded to abilities for defense or offensive buffs to easily hit them at right times. but at only lvl 14 on my sentinal im already using almost every ability I own in a pvp match. what I do love the most is critting on the force sweep and hitting everyone around me for 3k each oo yeah gotta love a quick 12k dmg one ability if 4 people are around me.

i have a jedi consular shadow as well and i have to say that it is far easier to play than a sentinel.

besides the directional posistioning for the shadows big damage attack most of the attacks require just one button press to get maximum benefit.

long range 1 button stun.

No need to build up focus.

I like the sentinel more for some reason but its a lot harder to play then my scoundrel or shadow.

Oooh! i have got to try the force sweep more then.

I just see it as a CC breaker but you make it sound really good for stats.

As assassin,

1.Use Trash, 2.shock (on energize proc), 3.discharge (if debuff duration requires refresh), 4.wither (same as discharge),

5.use lightning on 3 stack harness. 5.Use maul in place of trash when behind target. 6. Refresh dark ward. This is not includeing defensive/offensive or escape mechanic cooldowns.

Overall the class tank wise has no real coheasion when it comes to ability rotations requireing alot of keybinds and micromanagement. Not to mention unlike jug or powertech. Even the most basic rotation of trash / shock is vary force(class resource) staved.

That's because they don't have to use any other ability when talented correctly. Outside of the 2 others that get a buff from it.

Tracer missile hits for more than Power Shot AND reduces your target's armor by 4% per stack, up to a 20% armor reduction. It also adds something called a "heat signature", which increases the damage of the level 40 talent by 5% per heat sig. You can make Tracer add 2 sigs per hit instead of one.

On top of that, it'll add a stacking 2% dmg reduction shield on you(10% total) and a 6% stacking buff to rail shot(30% total).

And to make it so you don't have any reason to ever use the majority of your other abilities: it also has a chance to refresh the cooldown to Unload and increase it's damage by 25%.

If you wanna see high crits there's a guardian dmg build that focuses on that aoe that when using certain abilities in correct order then activating a buff allows it to garauntee crit for 200% dmg (at max stacks which is 4) where a guy crit everyone around him for 9k and there were like 6 people. He just probably did the most dmg in one hit ive ever seen and it dropped like 2 people out of the 6 and brought the rest to low health or half. however thats like their main dmg ability in that tree so.....

The rage tree buffs the hell out of Smash.

That's probably what you're talking about. It does a stupid amount of damage when you get the stacks up.

Guardian version of the tree is called Focus.
