Shadow pvp effectiveness.

Hey, my first post here and kinda new to SWTOR.

I was checking the guide-line and I was rather impressive with what a shadow can do in one especific spec.

The spec in question is a 27/14/0

Tell me if I am incorrect, but from what I gathered, in this spec I can:

- Have a respectable DPS, slightly lower than the pure DPSers but bigger than lets say, a vanguard in full tank spec.

- Flat 30% extra regen, another 50% for six seconds when coming out of stealth or on demand by a 60sec cooldown, which will give me pretty good sustain.

- 100% crit, and 50% less cost procs on project, making it really worthy cost-wise

- 12% self heal every 20-30 seconds via TK

- More shield proc chance than any other tank with kinetic shield

- A dash every 20 seconds that removes slow and roots

- a 5 seconds immunity buff every 45 seconds

- a pull tool to bring players to me, harass ball carriers or drop people into fire/acid.

- effective, 100% speed stealth on a tank class, oh, and a vanish with no heal penality

- a backstab, which has 50% less cost and 50% armor pen every 10 seconds...

- Decent burst, good sustained with mostly all tank effectiveness.

- Guard, taunt, interrupt on low cooldown, aoe taunt to protect my allies on a rather good damage spec.

- Pvp trinket every 1:30 instead of 2min

Is that all correct? I was playing a Sentinel and a friend of mine told me to reroll a shadow because I can do almost as much damage while having more mobility, more tools and absolutely more survivability in pvp. And also be able to help the team more with aoe taunt, taunt and guard. Interrupt healers more often and peel more efficiently due to aoe KB and pull.

I just want to confirm that shadow is all that before I reroll my sentinel, which is level 28 right now.

Yes it is all that.

And the spec you posted is the most popular for what you describe.

I actually run a 27/2/12 spec which does much the same thing, in a very slightly diff fashion.

The only real problem with the class is that it can do so much, that people fail to use a lot of what they have available to them.

And of all that stuff, the best darn ability is that 5 sec immunity. Combined with your other def ability, I can burn someone in a 1 v 3 and stealth out consistantly. Sometimes I even come back for seconds. 1 v 2s are no problem against less skilled opponents.

You are correct on everything you listed. In fact, Shadows can do most of what you listed, no matter their spec.

One important thing to note. Although Shadows are my favorite class, you are the jack of all trades, master of none. You will not be the best tanking class, you will not be the best dps class. That being said, you can be the best tank and can have the highest dps, as long as you use your abilities wisely.

Good luck and have fun.
