Thadios
I play a 50 Guardian, and tend to do decent in most warzone matches as a team, however I see a lot of Sith Sorcs and more that show up daily even at low levels? Why? Because most of their lightning based damage is "Elemental" which is the lowest resistance type to mitigate in the game. My Guardian with 50% Kinetic / Energy resists and a measly 10% Elemental / Internal resists, mean nothing to these lightning wielding casters who can bubble and chain / kite even after you have force leaped to them. Their "Elemental" damage rips through me like I have practically no armor. So from a balance perspective, how is this even remotely fair, when you see in so many parts of our class story and in the movies, how Jedi Knights use their lightsabers to deflect / absorb force lightning attacks? From another balance point of view, the Sith Sorcs counterpart, Sages, the Sage's force damage type is "Kinetic" which I do not understand why they did this. Anyone with any type of armor will gain natural resistance to this as a result. So to recap: I believe resist balance is not well thought out, as the current system favors Sith Sorcs with an "Elemental" type of attack which has very little to no resists against. This needs to be changed to "Energy" based damage or give players a way to resist some of this damage type. I know I am not the only one who sees this and knows exactly what I mean. This is by no means some cry for a nurf, I am simply expresses my observations.
Exilim
A shield can mitigate it, can it not?

CHRISGG
Nope, wrong. Infact, all lightning attacks are Kinetic damage. Only dots and deathmark are elemental.
Thadios
Nope, wrong. Infact, all lightning attacks are Kinetic damage. Only dots and deathmark are elemental. That is very odd, because if Sorcs force lightning was in fact only "Kinetic" damage, then my 50% kinetic resistance + shield would be pretty resistant to it. This is simply not happening, as I see consistent large 2-2.5k crits rolling off me from their chained lightning spam all the time, and watch my health drop sharply within 4-5 seconds. I will have to look at these dots and deathmark skills then, see how often they can be used and what they look like.

Sorcs do not hit 2-2.5k a tick.
