deathmolor
Your sound department used children's play sand to create the sound of walking on sand. Problem with childrens sand is that it has no silica in it, like sand you would walk on. Play sand has flint or quartz inert materal if swallowed. But have you ever tried to crush it or walk on it. It creates a low frequency sound some people can hear. IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!!! I am sure the sand on tatooine is made of silica due to the color. Please get your sound department not to pick up their sand at toys r us, or go to the local play ground.

Nuttmegg
Does the OP realize the amount of computer resources required to accurately render true beach sand? I think Bioware knows what they're doing.

Taaketa
I would rather they subtly changed the sound of walking on metal so it doesn't sound like my bots are either magnetic or got great big sucker pads on them!
Tevax
There are some annoying sounds in this game I believe a vast majority of people wont hear due to there audio system. I have about 6k invested into my current Home theater on just the audio, even with my calibrated sound system, some sounds become quite annoying/headache after a while....especially the noises coming from astromech droids....which are intense enough/earpeircing to shatter glass. Now none of this is a problem if I switch to my computer speakers, nor woild it be a problem with the home theater systems most people have....but it would be nice to have them check the mastering again. uchorhu
All through beta I made this exact complaint to BW through numerous bug reports and forum posts. I even started a blog about it: http://www.wewantsilicasoundsnow.com but to no avail. So I'm going back to Tale in the Desert where the devs know what real sand sounds like. Enjoy your silica-free sand, suckers! Edited January 8, 2012 by uchorhu
Thomanson
I approve of this thread. If only I could individually select which sound source the different tracks were playing through, I could get the most out of my Sennheiser PC360s and 5.1 system. <.<

I meant Play sand has "NO" flint or quartz, it has inert material and is safe if swallowed. Missed the word no.. and the sentence was badly worded. It was rushed. Tovenar
This is probably the best worded complaint I have ever read. I looked into it. Its true about the low frequency sounds caused by the granules mushing together. Finally an issue for the community to unite about. Roll back launch until this is fixed.
