wandervon
I'm a very busy college guy who works full time and goes to school full time. It doesn't leave me very much time to pursue my hobbies, which is a lot of the problem here. But please, at least consider my point of view before you shoot me down I guess. Anywho, here goes: My first and last MMO I played was WoW. Loved it, played it 3/4 of highschool and now I'm 3 years into college. That's a while. But hey, I really like this game now, and playing it should be just as intuitive to my life as wow right? WRONG. My friends and family are too divided. My friends are on one server playing empire, my sister and brother are on another server playing republic, then my sister wants me to move to a different server and start new characters to play with her friends and gaaaaaaah I'm sick of it! My highest character, who I consider my "main" is only level 28! TWENTY-EIGHT! I bought this game on 12/20. How pathetic is that? The problem isn't the game, the problem is ME. I feel like with all these dumb alts and different servers, I'm NEVER going to get to level 50 on ANY of them! I researched the legacy system, and I was like, "hey, well its okay to have lots of alts and take a year to get a single level 50 because they will all add up together!" But then I realized that the legacy system only affects a single server. I'm really torn here and I just would like some advice. I'm the kind of person who can't STAND to play two characters at the same time in an MMO. In WoW I played for 7 years and only had 3 level 85's at the end, and I didn't even play 2 of them. If WoW had the legacy system, or even just universal achievements, I would have. But I want to have a sign of ALL my progress, I feel a need to have that, and with WoW you can't have that if you play more than one character. But this game you can! WHICH IS AWESOME!! But...it only affects ONE server. So I can really only play ONE server if I want to feel like I'm not wasting my time. This game is way too fun to level in. All the classes I've played are great. So I can't seem to focus on a single one even though I really want too. I feel like my friends have completely left me behind, and that I'm a crappy player because I haven't even finished act 1 on a single character, and I've been playing everyday since release. /endrant Any one with a similar feeling or some advice? Super-massive
Wait for server xfers to go live. they will, eventually. And over time you'll likeely be able to convince people to start moving to one server. That's how it went down for me in WoW, my group of friends started super spread out, but I slowly coaxed them one by one to get on my server. After starting a fresh jedi knight (my first one) on a new server today, I actually felt like my whole night was wasted and that I should have been leveling my bounty hunter. I really love how great leveling makes me feel in this game. Just wish I could feel that without feeling guilty that I'm not leveling my highest character to get to endgame. Maybe it's a side effect of WoW, where almost all of the game was at endgame.
