Hey all i am coming from WOW and so far loving this game, I love the fact you could mod orange gear and use it from level 1-50 to give yourself an awsome look.

I just have one question thou what is the point of endgame thou i see the game has harmode dungeons, does it have any raids or something similar. So back to the question if you could mod all the gear what is the point of running hardmode or anything else.

thanks in advance for the noob question

The point of running hardmodes and operations is to have fun. You do get better gear as a side effect...

Theres moddable gear with stats from the dungeons, thus making it better than orange gear.

I could be wrong but the Ops reward sets which have the best stats in the game but aren't moddable. Additionally, some pieces might drop that are moddable so you can tweak them to the exact stats you desire. Lastly, the absolute best mods in any category come from Ops.

Again, I might be somewhat wrong but that's what I understood from someone who explained it to me.

I shove enough epic mods into it then it will be....

it will bee....

:D

it wont be, since mod gear doesnt have set bonuses, and the purple set gear does, so its basically the exact same as WoW endgame, you look exactly like anyone else in your class

You can replace the Mod/Enhancement in any and all Tionese, Columi and Rakata gear. You cannot, however, replace the armouring mod.

it can be. gear with set bonuses is un moddable. From what I heard there are some really epic mods that can be equipped putting moddable gear on par

Set bonuses are integral. Some of them are important. BH Merc (DPS) get +15% crit on Tracer Missile / Grav Round for example.

I understand what set bonuses are. From what I heard there are rare types of armoring. hilts mods barrells enhancements etc.... that when slotted in orange gear with augment slots that players can get stats on par with set gear. Understandeably it is very hard to obtain all that you would need to put this together but for those that want to look unique it is possible.

To get said mods, barrels, hilts, enhancements, armourings etc you need to do Nightmare Mode Operations (drop level 58 mods etc). To do Nightmare Mode Operations you need raiding gear ie - the tier sets.

You can't use orange gear at level 50, sorry.

your not getting my point i think. yes you have to use that raid gear. get those mods and slot them in orange gear, then you can have your orange gear tricked out. Also there is rumor of a dark purple type schematic for crafting that is super hard to unlock but can deliver some crazy mods....just a rumor though. Essentially you need the raid gear to get mods to customize your orange gear with augment slots and can have gear that has a custom stat build that could potentially be better than raid gear.

Doesn't have set bonuses. Set bonuses are pretty powerful.

You can't.

Rakata gear has level 58 mods. The highest mods you get are level 58.

have you personally seen everything that drops?? I had a fellow guild mate who was in beta for a long time that told me otherwise and he messed with endgame quite a bit.

I guess we will just have to play more and find out. Im sure there are some goodies waiting to be discovered like those dark purple crafting schematics.

Set gear is the most powerful gear, its a fact, best get used to it now so you arent disappointed later. You can get the same stats on a mod item as you can on a set piece, but you will never have the set bonus on that mod item, so it will always be inferior, unfortunently.
