Are more then two options really too much to ask for?

This is one thing that kind of pisses me off about the game, i mean it.

Alot of the time, you're given two choices. Light side and dark, and USUALLY its as superficial as "kill them/leave them to die" versus "spare them/save them"

For instance. One mission..I forget which, i want to say its on taris?

anyway, you're sent to look for a group of republic....scientists, or, garbage men or something. anyway, when you get there you find they're trapped behind a large gate. You have two choices.

DS: Leave them there to rot

LS: Save them.

Why no middle ground? Why no "Save them if they defect"? why no "Lie: Of course i'll let you out" then kill them yourself?

Another one. On Taris theres a looong quest chain involving a stuck up ***** named thana, there are parts of this that irritate me.

One part of the chain, she is stuck in a jail cell. After you kill the guy you're there to kill. You have two options.

DS: leave her

LS: free her

Why no "I'll release you under the condition that you.." ..Iunno, become my slave? give me credits? SOMETHING.

another part, is again. You have the option to kill her, or let her leave. Thats it..Why nothing else? force her to join your crew, put your lightsaber to her throat and demand something.

I'M A LORD OF THE SITH! i should be more creative then just "Oh, yea, i'm going to kill you now"

I don't mind that theres no "middle", i really don't. Some times in life it REALLY is the choice between good and evil(however rare that is), or what you know is right, and what you know whats moral(even rarer)

HOWEVER. thats not what i'm complaining about. I'm complaining about the lack of originality. Most of the choices amount to "kill" or "save".

I'm supposed to be an evil bastard, why no slavery options? why no extortion?

On the jedi starter planet, for instance. Theres a mission. Light side, is you destroy 5 bottles of potion that're causing a native species to become aggressive, dark side, you bring it back for some scientist.

Why no option to threaten the guy? Say if you don't send regular credits my way i'm going to turn you in?

Because there is no middle on some. It's consequence, something which BW warned would be..

Becouse after being preached in KOTOR2 that every dark side and light side option has far more signifant effects then they appear this makes it all right?

I'm sorry thats just sloppy writing in my books, your moral choises can't be a *twiddles moustaches* monocle tophat evil and goodytooshoes, specially in a game that dosn't quite understand exactly where torture belongs in.

The only choise of consequence currently in game is the advanced class one.

And the reason why? Probably because it's a BioWare game, and BW loves their illusion of choise.

Bioware hasn't been good when it comes to morality for a long time. It's always the baby-killing sadist or the second coming of jesus. They don't do "gray". I find it to be a pity because the sheer extremes in bioware games often times remove me from the immersion, but it's just part of the way they do business and it's not exactly a new thing. I'm not one to typically endorse the "deal with it" policy, but in this case it does fit since that's just how they are, and have been for a very long time.
