terferi
hey guys. I normally play stealthed characters in mmos. so I picked the shadow. right now I seem to habe too many abilities. I don't really seem to have a clear cut of what I'm supposed to do. it seems muddled to me. like is this how I should be fighting? so perhaps I should reroll to another class.. I am 26 level right now..I feel like maybe I don't like the shadows playstyle which is hard for to grasp since I love stealth.. maybe I'm just looking at stuff incorrectly. I have points in kinetic combat for easier soloing. my friend who will be our tank seems to not be that great. maybe I should try pure dps to see if I like that? what do you guys think? maybe I am using too many skills and need a nice clean rotation... I love the game but not my character.... even though I love stealth.. so maybe ill try to play him different [any recommendations?] and go from there. I also will read up on other classes.. thanks for reading
sanctified
Kinetic combat? Stealth, shadow strike. Finish off with project. Doesn't seem very hard to me. Edited January 2, 2012 by sanctified
Rawr_Bomb
I think all the classes have 1 or 2 too many abilities, so your bar fills up quite a bit with powers. Think of Jedi Shadows like WoW Druids. Sure you have a metric ton of abilities, but only a few of them are going to be used with your spec. TheRealGormane
I always open with Force Breach, Slow time, Double Strike, use project when you have Particle Acceleration up and when you have 3 stacks of Harnessed Shadows. This isn't precise, you also need to keep kinetic ward up as much as you can and use recovery stuff when needed. If you are in the 20's Kinetic Shadows are a little bit slow but once you get your healing companion it will really open up. I am now in the 40's and can solo basically everything with no downtime. I am a bit slower than some other DPS but i die alot less too.

I also will read up on other classes.. thanks for reading went kinetic combat up to 50, stealth was a big part of my playstyle... out of combat, mostly just avoiding combat to get through the game quicker. but if you really love stealth, as in combat stealth type of playstyle, why not level as infiltration? I never understood the mentality of picking the "best" levelling spec then respeccing in endgame which is what it sounds like ur going for. i've heard of future kinetic tanks levelling in balance. future infiltration shadows levelling as kinetics... i don't get it. I say try respeccing into the playstyle u love so much, mess around killing some low-level trashmobs to get the good handle on your rotations that u'd normally get levelling with them in the first place... and then enjoy the game. dronepilot
I originally went down the kinetic branch, but I just didn't like it to be honest, not my play style, or the fact I just wasn't doing enough damage. I chose to respec with Inf/Balance skill tree's instead, while tanking my companion.
