Schwerpunkt
How the heck did I do a double post like that?
demonolithic
My only disappointment with the CE is it's rarity.
Aisar
......I KNOW I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. $150+ dollars for what.......and a statue....color book...and a so called "map". COME ON BIOWARE REALLY!!!!! And before all you bioware azz kissers start spouting at the mouth about the in-game items, let me just go ahead and say this first THEIR WORTHLES. That's my main reason for getting the collector's, thinking i wanted to feel "exclusive" because i was getting items that were in short demand and "only" for that edition. Imagine my surprise when i found out my friend who only got the Digital Deluxe copy for $79, got every single in-game item that i got including the speeder. Which brings me back to that first question what did i pay $150 for? (A statue, a Book, and a map.) Talk about getting hustled. I feel pretty stupid for listening to them. Unless your a statue collector, im sure there are a ton of others out there that feel the same way. Too bad Bioware doesn't give two *****s about that:( Oh well i guess, game on. Bioware told us exactly what was in it. Hello? Why do you think I did not buy a Collector's Edition?
iShadowKing
Congratulations. You have learned what I and many others have also had to learn the hard way. Collector's Editions will often leave you with a SEVERE case of buyer's remorse. I have paid $150 for two different games in the past, and I will never, ever do so again. I always end up feeling kind of ripped off and disappointed. For this game I compromised and got the digital deluxe edition.....And I'm still annoyed with it, even though it was only $20 more. The stupid freaking training droid was described as something that would hover at my side, leading me to believe it was a typical vanity pet.....which is pretty reasonable, given the description of the damned thing. But it's not, and I felt that I'd been misled. Never again. I like the game, and I'm having fun, but I am really starting to feel annoyed with BW. I went into this game with an enormous amount of goodwill toward them. They were one of my favorite devs, by far. Currently, I am feeling that my confidence in them is pretty well shaken, though not really due to this particular annoyance. Precisly as I feel. CE is simply overpriced and I'm glad I didn't get it. Ps. Statue most likely. Oat them 5 dollar top
Aisar
It's best not to buy into cheap vanity items and useless toys wrapped up in fancy paper. Bottom line don't do it lol. Edited January 15, 2012 by Aisar
Dire-Wolf
I'm disappointed with the digital side of things. The CE store has almost nothing in it and is only really useful for Inquisitors. I haven't seen the Republic store so that might be better but the Empire side sucks. That combat droid thing isn't a pet. The holodancer is only out for about 10 seconds. The STAP's sort of ugly. All those hover segways are ugly though. The only item I really like is the flare gun. The physical stuff is cool. The box and case are nice, the journal is interesting (though Satele's writting is a little hard to read) and the statue is awesome.
sosolidshoe
My only complaint regarding the CE is that Imperial Trooper armour is exclusive to it, and I maintain that position despite now being a CE owner. Something so fundamental to the character of a playable faction should not be limited so severely. Regardless, if you buy the CE of any game for ingame items, you're a fool. It's fluff. You buy CEs for the physical items; Master Chief's helmet, a Vault Boy lunchbox and bobblehead, the Darth Malgus statue and Gnost Dural's journal. On that score, the TOR CE is pretty awesome for people who're into collectables.
The_Assuran
You guys realize the game just came out and the ebay'd statues are mostly going for about $45-75 each, right?
Sugerbabe
You did read the offer ? Did you think there was a secret box also ? Learn to live with your choices mate. Life becomes so much better.
mayjin
Yes they did. They even have a side by side comparison showing exactly what you get with each edition. Each digital Item had a little box next to it so you could click on it and see exactly what it looked like. http://buy.swtor.com/us/ That information was available to everyone since July of last year. You chose to ignore it. You have no one to blame but yourself for being unhappy with your purchase. I lol..OP has nothing to say to that.
penumbri
I like all the stuff, in game and out, I even like the box, but was let down by the map a lot. I used to collect maps as a kid, and still like them. It should have been bigger. On way better paper. I have old NatGeo maps of better quality. It's seems almost a lame last moment toss in to me. When they were putting together the CE, the B-Team was in charge of the map. I started with the statue and we all went OH! Cool. Didn't want to open the book, but couldn't resist removing the wraper, and I love it. I didn't need the instalation disk, but the tin is good. I have yet to open the music, I am unsure why it didn't get a tin holder also, it is deserving of one (maybe the B-Team poked into that). But when I got to the map, I was even embarrased for Bioware over that! I had a room of meh's.
corbanite
ce is the same as every other game. The CE people themselves made the shop into something it wasn't with speculation before release. Anyone who tried to talk some sense about what the CE was offering was shouted down with *pops flare*, talk about waving from vip lounge, get a job, jelly or whatever other insult you could muster. Threads were posted talking about value of the items and that the store in itself would not be worth $150 but many people refused to listen and thought this was people being jelly or whatever. You may not have but plenty of people brought the CE purely on the strength of the store saying that that was worth $150 to them without even knowing what was going into it. They will add stuff to the store as time progresses but it is a CE.. if you brought it for only one thing then yes you will be dissappointed
CyberPrey
The most dissappointing thing to me was that the "collectors edition vendor armor".. is only usable at 29+... I was really wanting to make it useable the moment I hit the Fleet Station.
davidpop
Well, some of those statues cost over a 150dollars just for the statue http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=523 Here you got a game as well
PalawaJoko
I bought CE and I still don't regret it Only let down was the exclusive CE store and that's because I really thought there would be a bit more to it. The imperial trooper armor skin is also quite useless as you would lose the set bonuses from PvP/PvE sets if you swapped the mods and used the IT armor skins.
