  1. No thanks.....the old space model is like a mini game that.......lame. I like the graphics of it, but that's the only good thing I can say of it. Free roaming space will give so much possibilities to space PVP, space exploration and more! However, I highly doubt they'd do a good job at space PVP since world PVP is complete and utter ****. No incentive to world pvp expect to have a gank fest. We get nothing out of it except to grief others. I'm on a PVP server and I earn NOTHING from world PVP. Talk about a waste of my time.
  2. Yes, but if something is repeated by numerous people then hopefully someone will listen ; )
  3. Space pvp combat would require a new engine......i"M FOR IT ; )
  4. I don't think Huttball should be taken out. Instead I think there should be more warzone options. Taking Huttball out would only make the other warzones more boring. Unless you feel you can withstand the repetition of only 3 warzones with a huge lack of world pvp. Don't take away, add.
  5. I have returned to games and found new content appealing. I do think this game does have a lot of great content with great stories. But like you, I am questioning what my next game will be. There is most definetly a void in side that hasn't been filled in sometime. I agree with a comment made earlier. I do not think Bioware will listen....yet. I do hope they bend before they break, because at the current rate, I don't think this game will last in any grand scale for long. They have a window of opportunity to make this game completely amazing. What I mean by that is, like you stated, you don't go back to games...how many people are like that? How many people who are like that pull other players to other games? I wonder how much time left Bioware can ride the amazing Star Wars theme train before everyone abandons it? I would love an answer to this question. "Does Bioware fear changing Swtor due to the failure SWG had?" Is financing a huge problem for Bioware at this point? Did you over extend your money books developing what you thought was an amazing game? Because ever since Beta, there has, in my opinion, been a ton of amazing ideas that would make this game much more. If world PVP is not believed to be significant why make PVP servers? Why make a space game that turns off players who adore space games? Are players allowed to be creative or is this another cookie cutter? As new content is added, why do I not have new story for my main character? Did I beat your story content at the end of chapter 3? Or are you now locking me into raiding or PVPing in warzones? If players only have same content to run through or dailies end game, you must admit, there needs to be a change. I do think that the window of opportunity for this game to become great is diminishing. There is a void that needs to be filled and I hear it from players all of the time. I have seen players come and go and I have even taken off my sub before. Your only carrot for me is the fact that I have made some social friends and I hopeful that something will change. I keep typing on the suggestion box and to no avail. Unlock some sandbox elements. Allow players to be creative with player houses, player cities, player starships, and just watch how much fun these ascetics will have on players. It will give the game more to do and take some of the focus off of the daily missions, of the fact that the raid content has been on farm for a while now. Open up space, let it be free roaming. Give space some sand with a few themeparks in the mix. Give a bit of randomness to the game. World PVP all over the place. Give us a reason to kill others that we can do something with our time other than just another kill. Make our time worth it. Specialty class PVP missions would be awesome. Player Bounties, Anti Player bounties where Jedi must protect, maybe some assassinations for the Sith, what about spy missions or something for imperial agents, some escort/transport missions for smugglers and MUCH MUCH more. Put these in the sandbox and you retain your themepark that is amazing, but will give the game some randomness that will give it that much more. Time will tell, but I do hope someone listens to what I say. I do love the gameplay and want my void filled so I can continue being a loyal Star Wars fan and Swtor MMO player. My ultimate fear, is that you have given up and are just milking the game for all it's worth while working on something else.
  6. Title edited. Do you like it?
  7. This is correct. However, if Swtor continues in it's path and an SWG2 comes out, I'm going there. I miss those elements as do I imagine, many others. I have a bunch of other friends who, when Swtor was in design were completely stoaked. We were all imagining the good things they were going to strip from SWG, the bad things they would have learned not to do, and the good reputation of Bioware to add such a flavor that we had huge expectations. The game is good, the game though did not meet our expectations. I have a void inside. I miss SWG when it was first released. So many thrills not yet realized on Swtor......I've played from beta, since the start, and at what point should one lose hope of a potential? I don't think Bioware even wants to go in that direction. All of the patterns I have seen in the past is they want to maintain their control. In that case, I can't see that they would look favorably on any sandbox elements. I hope I'm wrong. In the meantime, I play what is closest to my void.....
  8. Yes, I was a big pro BH bounties on the beta forums but that never panned out. Understandably that BW is working hard on patches to maintain the player base they have now. The problem is reoccuring though. Each new patch some players come back. Players continue to leave though and the game continues to die. There needs to be a lifestream to this game that keeps it alive and keeps the game from dwindling. Can we stop players from playing an MMO to death wehre they will want to eventually leave? No. In all MMOs this happens. However, games can be designed to greatly slow this down. Create the illusion of new content. A sandbox will do that. Give players the power to add some spice to the meal and I guarentee the flavors will change and people will not leave near as fast. Hell, players might not leave as fast as players come to the game. That's ultimately what you want. Or at least a stable population where players leave and players join. But to see in a population where we are exponentially growing a game that is dieing shouts out, "PROBLEM!"
  9. Exactly what I think. A friend of mine keeps saying over and over that if you want a sandbox elements it means you take away from the themepark. I say that is incorrect. I think what is more important is that we figure out how much should be allowed. Don't design the whole game as a sandbox. But don't design it as a whole themepark either. In each case you either don't give enough direction, or you control to much not allowing players to add their own creativity that could give the game a spice that hadn't been thought of before. Meet in the middle. Give players direction while at the same time giving them an allowance for their creative edges. "Story and sandbox elements don't have to be mutually exclusive after all..." Bravo!
  10. Bioware, you have captured some aspects of Star Wars in The Old Republic. The game has an emmersive quality to it that does entice those of us who enjoy a good story to stick around. The appeal for alternative characters is most assuredly out there. There is PVP, Space, Raiding, and other qualities common to MMOs. The other common denominator though is, the game is losing subscriptions. Look it up in the databases of how many accounts are active. Free to play is only a bandaid. It will revive the game for a little bit but the same pattern will happen, unless there is a change. I am rather shocked to see good qualities of Star Wars Galaxies completely avoided. So many people loved that game when it first came out. Talk about world PVP! Where is Swtor's world PVP? I guess if people so choose to waste their time and go kill people for the sole purpose of killing. Nobody earns anything. Honestly there is no incentive to world pvp. Why is there even PVP servers? There could be some sort of reward system for killing players. Imagine, being able to have hired hands like SWG had. Stormtroopers following you, AT-STs, or even a BASE! Tor has a great backbone. Turn this backbone, this themepark into what it is...a themepark. Add some sandbox qualities around the park. Let us build in this sand. Let us build player cities and earn world pvp rewards to place in our sandbox that we can defend and attack. This alone will add a quality to this game that it is soarly missing. Keep your themepark space. Add some sandbox that can be free roamed. Have space PVP incentives where we can build space stations and PVP around this! Let us go exploring massive space! What I am saying here is this. You have locked us up into a tight little box. You have hand fed us Star Wars without allowing us to be creative. Give us some sand that we can show you how creative, and how FUN it can be for players to be creative! I have only given a few examples of where this can be applied to. So many people decorated their SWG houses with unique styles that made them look amazing! People would travel just to see these homes. People could set up their own shops and people would hear about the awesome deals at locations x,x,x. Governors could decorate their player cities and work along with their players to plant homes in a pattern. All of this allowed players to take time while logged in to be creative. If you allow for these things, I can promise you, players will make this game shine!
  11. Who cares what people were expecting. It's what people want. I WANT space. If any other star wars game were to come out with things that I want, guess what? Bye bye Bioware. I'll jump ship in a heart beat for a game more suited to what I want. This game is sorely lacking in world pvp incentive, space, player customization options (Including things like player cities of some sort), and much much more. Warhammer beats this game in world pvp hands down. There are much more pvp instances in Warhammer Bioware could take some notes from. Star Wars Galaxies did player cities fantastic. Also loved the craft system with the different factories and harvesters you could place. I'd say BW took some lessons from AoC from the initial voice over section on the newb island that proved how well voice quests work and they did do the whole game that way which does make it hella fun. The class quests here is great. I also like the mechanics but I will say, AoC has a better combat system imo. I love the combination fights for best results. Add some combat immersion into the game as well. It's like this. I yearn for SWG when it first came out. A game like that would easily get me to leave Swtor. Imagine, if Sony rolled it back yet kept the new space expansion and beefed up their graphics while adding in voice overs. Game over Swtor, you'd be done for. I'm not trying to completely bash Biowre. BW has done many wonderful things. But you'll hear it from all players who came from the original days of SWG that you missed the mark.
  12. I whole heartedly agree that I wouldn't want to play with that person either. But that's for the players to decide. You can ignore whoever you want. You don't have to play with people. I think more of what I'm getting at is, if Bioware continues to police an environment they had best get their information correct and even then, I think it's wrong. Is it wrong to cuss at someone? Yes. Will it give you jail time? No. We do have the freedom of speech. Let us make whatever we are out of ourselves. We are going to do it anyways on Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Mumble or whatever program we use. There is definetly a fine line dance BW has to do to maintain it's customer base. I'm sure no matter what some people own't be happy. However, as a player from beta on, I'd much rather see BW focus their attention not on policing players, but on developing more content sooner than later, less bugs, more PVP options, better space program with free roaming to explore the galaxy and all it's wonders. Get my point? Biowre, put your attention where it belongs. I will say, I will finally applaud them for FINALLY breaking up the operation instances in much less population. That was something MUCH needed and it was probably a bit late. But better late than never. I'm still hoping for more from this game. I am still dissapointed I have not gotten what I wished for and what I kept suggesting on Beta forums and more. Star Wars has so much potential. Sandbox>Theme Park. Doesn't mean there can't be sand around the theme park. Add the sand. Add some wonders. Add options. Give us more to do and we won't need to be policed as we will have our hands full enjoying neat tid bits of the game.
  13. You do have a point there. Just remember, we aren't in prison. We all have rights as well. We can act accordingly and be free so long as it doesn't impede someone else. If you were to walk down the street and cuss at someone in public do you think it would cause problems? No. Perhaps if you harrassed them, followed them home but even then, unless you did something like broke into their home or tresspassed on their property, nothing will be done. You'd just be that creepy guy. We have freedom of speech. So should we on the game. It is the right of others to listen, or ignore them. If you don't like this freedom, move out of the US. Extra attention to detail would help alleviate some of this as well.
  14. In all of the romances, often times you get this invitation to come back for more. But I can't go back for more. After I do the one time story I am stuck wanting more but never getting more. There needs to be a follow up to these stories. If someone wants you to revisit, why not be able to go back and do a daily romance or a weekly romance? This isn't a huge thing, but I find that I would spend a little more time to go back and romance a different character for the scene. A revisitation or even a renewal of the spark that was there before. THis would definetly add to story content and would be just one more thing that would add zest to the game.
  15. There needs to be an incentive for world pvp. Really, why should I go kill someone other than fulr a role playing aspect? Really, that's what it is. In what games do you find PVP and RP servers to over populate the regular servers? I don't know of any. So why again should I go killing othe players? If we could earn warzone commendations or even ranked warzone commendations (Under a new name), for killing X players. That would rock. What about hacking into a republic or imperial base? Taking down and raiding a facility owned by the opposing faction could give some ranked comms. Just a few ideas. And if you ever put your heads on right and expanded zones for player cities where we could have our own facilities that we built and maintained, that could gain even more. SWG did some things right. Swtor has done some things right. And in my opinion both of you have done things wrong. Both have suffered player loss. I would have loved to be in the meeting where you guys talked about what you wanted the game focus to be. Who was the visionary? Was it the voice of the people or was it biased by someones tunnel vision? Anyways, let's get this back to world pvp. I want a reason to go around killing players and have it be worth my time. I want the thrill of the hunt and the thrill of being hunted. It adds excitement. Players will ban together to do things. Obviously if it is abused it could be bad. But often times massive world pvp is exciting. I still remember long 12 hour battles on Rori back on Gorrath server of SWG. Or even at other peoples facilities. That was amazing! You don't have to have new content for world pvp. Players will create content just by being given the incentive to kill others. Without a reason to, you will only get the minority to PVP....even on a PVP server.
  16. Flaw Recently a buddy got a 24 hour ban but then got it taken off. The reason behind his ban was because the harrasser reported him event hough he was more the victim than anything. Yes he was apologized to and given additional play time. Seriously though, you ban me, you'll lose my account forever. How many others has this happened to? How many Star Wars fans have been pissed off because you try and police the system to much? Suggestion Let players police themselves. Back in Everquest this worked great. There had to be a serious issue such as someone exploiting for a GM to step in. Players banned together and did their own disciplining. I remember back in the day on Mithaniel Marr, Clan Bloodclaw would go find a player that messed with one of theirs and killed the entire zone preventing them from doing anything till they logged off. I admire their loyalty to their members, how they took care of their own. It's also like this. If you are to blame, guess what appens, you lose players. If players are to blame, they get chewed out and some bickering happens. Woop de doo. There is an ignore for a reason. Look at the trend here. BW is to blame, players are lost, loss of players is bad for morale, possible more loss of players....creating a negative atmosphere. What about a player who is close the leaves the game? Perhaps a guild leader is sticking up for their members and they get alienated, how about their whole guild goes with them to another game? Especially whent his is happening in an already dieing game where content is not coming out near fast enough. Player trend. Player is to blame, players ban together, have a bit of a war. Might be some bickering. Players might forget about the squabble because, well they didn't get banned for any time period. Log in the next day for a new fresh day. Might come back with some vengeance and want to do something harmful to the other player. OMG what are they going to do? Especially with ignore on? Training in this game doesn't work like other games. People will trash talk anyways, it's the nature of the beast. There is so much more I have not said. I'm just giving you a brief run down. Relax, let your players police themselves. Spend your time on working on expansions and coming up with new and fun events. I'm an adult, I don't need you to police me. I would liek to continue playing a Star Wars game but with content release coming to a hault and other competitive games coming out, really, don't piss off the customer. Look at it in one more light here. A raiding guild can have standards. Sometimes they can have very high standards. In a game with a high population yes this can be true. In a low or dieing population standards will have to drop some to get simular results. Before the server merges for instance is a perfect example. We had to take certain people not because they met the standards we wanted but because they met the standards we needed. You can want and need different things. Ultimately what does star wars the old republic need? Do you need money? I imagine you do since workers have been let go. Assuming you need money, you need a product that is stable. You need standards that you need, not that you want. Once this game is in full swing established and you know you aren't going anywhere, you have stable jobs and can project the game will last x long, guess what, up the bar if you so wish. But this game is not fully established. Yes you have the hardcore fans, and i'm sure you are getting some new players in. But you need to solidify this game. When you don't have to let workers off and when you can meet your deadlines as projected, THAT"s when you can raise the bar.
  17. Flaw I and others feel that there is to much map restriction. These are planets here! Each planet should be massive! When I land on a planet I should be able to see all kinds of sights. Waterfalls, volcanoes, lakes, rivers, creeks, oceans, islands, vast forests, mountains, hills, rolling fields, and more. There is seriously a huge issue with this game being purely them park. Yes, it gives for a great story. Yes it is emmersive like you said it would be. But we are missing so much open world. There is so much potential. Create a bit of sandbox element here, and this game should boom back up. Suggestion Well I started to say it up in the flaw. Switch from thempark to a bit more sandbox. I don't mean full swing over. I mean, if it was on a scale....start to edge over towards the sandbox. Create sandbox elements. Players will travel miles just to see some massive sight that is a sweet sight. Expanding to a bit more of a sandbox element will also open up for much more opportunity for expansions. Additional zones, revisiting older planets with newer content, PLAYER CITIES, if you do it right PVP. With some incentive for world PVP with a sandbox element much more open world pvp...the thrill of the hunt.
  18. First off, I'm astonished at how little forthought was put into the server merge. With as many servers combining into one server it doesn't surprise me we are having huge issues with operations being overpacked and causing severe unplayable lag. Waiting 3 to 5 seconds for a reaction from an ability drastically impacts the performance and creates an environment that is not fun. We chose to stop doing our operation purely not because we can't do the fight, we have HM EC on farm in multiple groups in our guild, but we stopped because of lag. If we can't play the game, why should we pay to play? I think if you had appoximated 75% of the server population things would be a bit smoother thant his. Even cutting it by 50% might help. Not only this, but what will happen if we get such a huge gain of people from F2P? What is your solution then when our servers get even bigger? This is absolutely ridiculous. This lag has gone on for a long time now and has gotten much worse in the last couple weeks. Before you did the server merge, we were still raiding. Yes we had a headache of filling missing slots with a low population, but we still raided and got **** done. Now we are calling raids in a raid team due to playing at peak hours and insane lag. My suggestion, you need to fix the lag before you do anything. Don't work on extra features, F2P or nothing until the game you have currently is working on primary status. Use better approximations. Your servers should be able to easily play the amount of people on each server and then be able to play any time you come out with any new features that might bring old players back to the game that spikes the popluation up. Fix it, or give me my money back for not being able to do what I want to do in a game I pay to play.
  19. Just as the title suggests. THe radius on DFA is so small and not only that but it is a channeled ability that when interupted is put on cool down. Let's compare it with Orbital Strike. If that ability is interupted, it is not on cool down it can be recast. On top of that Orbital Strike hits many more mobs, has a greater radius range. I wonder now, why is death from above so gimp now? With as many mobs now that can knock me, the tank around, or grapple me, stun etc, it's become a chore to even get mobs gathered up so that I can DFA them without interuption. Not only that but now you have to include other players knocking them back etc. I'll admit, there has been a few times when DFAs smaller radius has been nice to CC outer edge mobs. But I'm more from a school of thought of, pop my defensive CDs while everythign is pounding on me, kill weakest to strongest and by the time my CDs are used, most of the enemies are dead so CC is not as useful. Understood in operations things can go a bit different and certain mobs are needed to CC. Again, let's revisit the main points here. DFA, interuptable and put on CD and radius is tiny. Give us a bone here. Make it uninteruptable while we are using a jet pack, or do something like increase the radius again.
  20. Fact is, with less people in the game, there is less opportunity for people to play the game to it'x max as often as they would like. Therefore, losing subs due to not being able to enjoy the game to it's fullest. Face the facts BW, you are losing subs. This game needs more end game content, better pvp, a revamped space and much much more. But ultimately, you need to merge the servers so people can actually play the game that is available.
  21. The great debate. I support damage meters. I support kicking people that suck. I still kick people that suck without them. If you do not take any interest in gearing out your character and take no interest in figuring out the best way to play your character you get the boot. I am not here to play with handicapped players lazy players, or players who just do not care. I want a for sure way to save time and damage meters will save me that time. I have already come up with ways to figure this out. Luckily with the replayability of this game I am learning the other classes and I will know the animations of what you are casting in what order. I will be able to talk with you and if you can't talk shop then I will know that you take no interest in progression. It is sad that I have to go to these extreme steps to figure this out. The only saving grace for this sort of game is the replayability, the enjoyment I find in the story. Without the great experience of leveling up this setup would flop.
  22. Feature: Loot options, can alter during combat. Feedback: A fellow guild member was doing a hard mode the other day. During the boss fight the group leader changed the loot options mid fight so that it was now on master looter rather then on need before greed roll option. The player then ninja looted a metal alloy. Suggestion: Regardless of the reason for this, this should never be allowed to occur. I think a simple preventative measure taking away the right to change loot mid fight should be implemented. Any time any player in a group is in combat loot should not be allowed to change. Then, unless a player is not paying attention to what is going on, generally any change to loot should be seen by all that way any progress should be agreed upon with the loot system selected. I have consulted with a GM concerning this situation and am aware that currently there is no measures taken against this sort of offense. Here is my suggestion and I hope the community will agree that a lock on changing loot options during combat is very relevant to our gaming experience.
  23. I'm sure it's been said before but I'm saying it again. The change made to the loot table of the bonus boss was not needed. The bonus boss was probably one of the tougher bosses out there and gave many average groups issues. The headache that it could cause was worth it when given the chance at a second columi head piece. So one of the hardest bosses out there in any HM flashpoint now drops a belt. Needless to say, I'll never kill this boss again. Generally, BW, if you want people to take their time to kill a bonus boss which could require more time added to the flashpoint, it should be worth it. But then again, it is just a bonus boss so maybe the loot shouldn't be as worthwhile. Still, reflect on how the final boss in Kaon HM is a complete joke when compared to the bonus boss.
