  1. Which healer you want to take out of the game with it? The melee healers who have to walk up to others to heal? Seriously. Get someone to kill that Juggernaut, they die in seconds if their buffs aren't up. I've stopped playing my Juggernaut tank because its so **** in PvP. No damage, and you die like a fly when you're long cd buffs arent up. Plus your gear is slotted with defense and absorption, which is useless against half ot the attacks. If you're now complaining that they can aoe snare, anytime for free when SPECCED into, then you might as well remove the class completely. Even with that skill its impossible to deal with some ranged (to deal ****** damage to them, mind you). What remains for a tank Jug/Guard is to harass the enemy team by interrupting heals/slowing it down. If you take that away, there is nothing left. Learn to deal with that. Kill that Jug if he's such a bother to you. He won't be able to do much outside of his CDs, if he IS a tank. And if I remember right that skill is in the tank tree, not sure how high though. Knock him away, have someone grapple him away from the group, CC and walk.. There's lots of options. Just imagine it was a Marauder/Sentinel who would just kill you quickly. How much better is that?
  2. Only one Sith "forum smilie" has their hood down. That means Jedis shouldnt get to wear their hood "down". Same logic. Ofc everyone should be able to toggle the hood up or down, regardless of allegiance. I didn't notice the "big head" thing. Only the "big butt" thing.
  3. Maybe you need to respec if you struggle with keeping meleers at bay. Don't know any class with so many tools to CC. Go for a hybrid spec madness/lightning and pick up all the CC stuff. Ofc you'll do less damage then. But you can't have everything.
  4. I'm with OP here. Anything which reduces the gear-gap between newbie and hardcore PvPer is good. PvP should be more about skills and making the right decisions in seconds/split seconds and not about wearing the über gear that let's you kill everyone easily, even if you make 100 mistakes.
  5. The LFG-Community you mean. Yeah, its an awesome community. I hear it hangs around the fleet and SPAMS general chat with LFG messages for hours. Good times! Makes me wanna pay more for my subscription because of this awesome activity!
  6. But what could have been had SWTOR not been released in its buggy state? ALOT MORE. That's what COULD have been. But who needs money anyways, let's throw it away..
  7. It's indeed a joke as I found out today. Got this nice "legacy mainhand weapon" thing in the mail and fully expected it to level with me. You know like you got that character that you want to level up through pvp, and instead of buying a new pvp weapon every 10 (!!) levels and using **** in between, I could have one level with me. Problem solved! But no. Nothing's solved. Lvl 14 Legacy weapon. Doesn't scale. Apparently if you don't get the schematics per mail, it costs a ****ton of daily commendations. Well, what can I say. It's pointless. Go to the GTN and buy a barrel for your starter orange and you're better off. Chances are you can afford MILLIONS of barrels if your main is lvl 50 and you'd have outleveled that awesome legacy weapon like instantly. Legacy gear (beside moddable oranges) needs to level with the characters or be extremely cheap. Nobody wants to farm a week, HOURS every day, for a lvl 14 weapon that he might replace one, two hours later. Come on, Bioware. User your heads!!

    Force camo

That's why you use it when you're almost dead. How often I see Sent/Mara use exactly that skill to help them finish their enemy. If you have to cry about something like that you're definitely doing something wrong. It's EXTREMELY useful.
  9. What you are saying is basically "we lost a guild member because he raged over pvping against guildies so please increase the waiting times for the pvp warzones for everyone by a large amount". You MUST understand that this is not realistic. Why don't you just make some behavioral rules for your guildies, like no trashtalking about PvP or so. Point is you need to solve this problem internally. There's many guilds where people are having a laugh when fighting their own guildies and where it actually IS fun and games. Everyone gets emotional here and there, but teach them to calm down before they open their mouth.
  10. BH seems to have several weapons integrated in his armor. Wrist missiles, backpack (offensilvely rocket punch and more), flamethrower, .. The blaster isn't necessarily the main damage source there (especially if you look at Pyrotech).
  11. I've just noticed another thing. While Pyrotech is a great PvP tree (I'm repeatedly amazed at how easily PT kill my Trooper), based around instants and elemental damage, the shared tree for the Trooper has different talents in it. From what you're saying it looks like it has the skills from the other tree, starting with Alacrity and Accuracy. Something is way off there. After being annihilated very easily by some PT Bounty Hunters I switched over to my Tank BH, specced him into BT and I was killing people like they were a joke. Mind you, lvl 18 only, but Flame Burst seems to literally fry them with the Combustible Cylinder on. That such a tree is just NOT available to Troopers is a mayer inbalance imho, and I don't understand how this is more discussed. I thought the classes were mirrored. The Trooper "shared" class does STILL include casting times skills (power shots instead of grav round) and has completely useless stuff in it, and RIGHT at the start. Guess I'll be putting my Trooper on ice and just faceroll everything with Flame Burst.
  12. Yeah that's a great idea. Have two people dedicated to support, instead of pew pew dps, and then give ONE SINGLE dps the ability to go right through guard, slaying the healer and making the tank who's all dedicated and specced to tank and absorb damage, an even more pointless existence than it is already.
  13. Title says it all. Takes a hell of an eternity to level up through Warzones alone, even if they pop constantly. Alot longer than if I simply PvE through equal-level content. On top of that there is also alot less money to be made. First time I went broke was today on a pure PvP char (just doing PvP/Class Story/Space Combat dailies/Flashpoints). I went BROKE. And that at lvl 25. Admittedly I was crafting alot, but I've done that on PvE chars as well, and it never was an issue. So on top of what is in the title, maybe add some more money as reward from simply finishing a WZ , and make that dependant on the characters level and the money they would have made if they did equal-level quests for that time. On my PVE chars I didn't want to gain any EXP from Warzones, beucause I was already outleveling PvE content by doing all Heroics - it was all green, close to grey, to me. In regard to that there should be a toggle for gaining exp from Warzones that people can turn on and off, so they can control better where they stand in the game world, and aren't forced into "grey" content just because they like to do everything. -More exp from completing Warzones (equal to doing equal level quests for that time) -More money from completing Warzones (equal to doing equal level quests for that time) -Toggle to turn exp gain from Warzone completion on/off Off to the wall of crazy with this, because.. its REALLY crazy.
  14. You can remove the armor enhancements and put them in a custom armor you like. As far as I know the set bonus stays on the augments and you can look however you like. So if you haven't done so already, best start collecting your favorite moddable gear or befriend an armorsmith/synthweaver.
  15. What do you mean "go PvE?" Just do Warzones, class story and combat. If you're on a populated server you'll get ALOT of WZ to actually level off them. That's what I'm doing. Also helps with understanding the other classes if you know exactly what their tools and their limitations are. Alot more than simple theorycraft.
  16. I usually drop down on my side and walk through the tunnel. It's safer and people don't really expect it. Easy way to avoid pulls and getting ganked when you drop down. Takes abit longer but you're essentially invisible until you come up the stairs.
  17. There's a few cats where I live that play snipers. One paw on "cover" and the other on "snipe". *tap* *tap* *tap* *you die*
  18. This is exactly what the title suggests, though I try to be not emotional at all. Just kind of summarizing the reasons why I put my Juggernaut TANK on ice. PVE: It's been fun and it worked for the most part. I've tanked through all Hard Flashpoints and through the normal OPs, as well as EV, excluding SOA. It wasn't due to my class, spec or doing that we didn't down SOA in Hard Mode. The weak side of the JUG TANK is that there's no protection against internal or elemental damage, other than the 4% 2-point talent which is almost at the top of the immortal tree. This is felt when fighting mobs who mainly do that type of damage. As a result, when grabbing the aggro of three strong mobs inside some FPs (those from D7 for instance) you are literally MELTING and have to be strongly focus healed. Usually its necessary to pop cooldowns to lighten the load somewhat on the healers. This is high burst damage which does significantly more than almost all bosses on hard mode, and even several elites. Just "strong mobs". This is humiliating. Then we have the massive lack of AoE threat. Smash is on a 15 (12 when specced) CD, and Sweeping Slash an anytimer. Both cost 3 rage, which is much for the result. I've put points into Heavy Handed, Decimate and Dreadnaught to increase my AoE damage/threat (we're talking about 8 points here total, of which 2 are strength in general), and yet I'm struggling, and hard. The numbers I'm putting out are NOWHERE NEAR that of a capable DPS. If there's some decent DPSer in the group or OP, I WILL lose aggro. Simply because I'm not doing anywhere near 50% damage of the DPS, and that's what would be required to keep aggro. So I'm forced to switch through mobs, taunt, throw high damage attacks at them and what not, and barely manage. Sometimes its ok, sometimes nothing really helps and I just lose some (several mobs). This is also due to the fact that both Smash and Sweeping Slash radiuses are extremely small compared to other classes' AoE. If mobs don't stand closely together (ranged mobs often don't) I can't hit them at once, while AoEers can. I can't pull them into my AoE or anything. NOW I welcome challenges, and if all TANK classes would have to put a similar amount of work into it, that would be fine. Truth is its very unbalanced, and we have to struggle hard to not look like complete wastes when facing AoE threat in FPs, COMPARED to other tanks. I've hated the packs in HM OPs the most and just felt like going afk since I'm useless anyways. The amount of work and timing I had to put into managing pack aggro is ridiculous compared to other tanks. Single target aggro was ok I suppose. Sometimes I still lost aggro, regularly, but thats what taunt is for, isn't it. My opinion is I shouldn't really have to taunt, unless the boss has some aggro-swapping mechanic, IF I FOCUS ON TANKING ONE MOB. We have one high-treat attack, has to be specced into (BACKHAND), and for the rest we have to cause aggro through our attacks. Did I mention that it's on a ONE MINUTE COOLDOWN? For the rest we TANK through our DPS. We HAVE to deal at least 50% damage of any DPSer. This is simply put NOT REALISTIC. To summarize I've been able to do what I planned to, and I could've even gone further and tanked harder stuff (I don't know about Nightmare Mode though), but its just not fun if we have to work alot harder than other classes for a result which is WORSE. Juggernaut self-buffs range from awesome to pretty average. Ironically the Marauder gets our best buff as well, plus a few on his own (survival/preservation skills). Invincible is good, endure pain is well. It can kill you if you're on low health after it ends and get hit at the same time where you LOSE 30% health. It has its use to survive spike damage though, but the spike better be over afterwards. Juggernaut PVE tanking definitely works, but it is ALOT of work for often worse results than other tanks. I've played a Powertech to compare, and he seems to be doing about TWICE the damage, plus having multiple ranged attacks and AoE radius, alot more AoE attacks. PVP: I played a PvP TANK. I refused to play DPS in PvP beacuse that's not why I rolled a Jug. I played also Warhammer Online and remember good times. Here? Not so. Some attacks you can mitigate well, others melt you like everyone else. Just to make that clear, I'm dropping my damage by wearing endurance/shield/absorb/defense gear (which by the way is ALREADY on the PvP "TANK" gear) and taking defensive skills just to find out its useless against roughly 50% of the attacks. People who know their own skills will focus on attacks that bypass our defense and shield (internal and elemental). So what we have is me dealing crappy damage and still taking the same amount as everyone else. On top of that, with the amount of CC available to ranged classes, I'm often trying to reach a target while slowed (AoE slow is the FIRST thing I do when I get in range), stunned, CC'ed, knocked and rooted, stunned and what not. Now, I'm not trying to run around and "OWN" people with my tank build. I know how to play, what I do is waste people's time, harass them and keep them busy while healers can heal, someone runs with the ball and what not. The thing is, when you don't have the good CDs ready, you melt like a cheese in the sun. It's not fun if you're not "tanky" as a tank, but only "somewhat tanky". I'm fine with not being able to kill some classes, but I'd expect they'd at least take longer to KILL ME in return. This is not the case. Marauders using bleeds/dots bypassing our defenses, Sorcs lightning hitting for ridiculous amounts and snipers well shooting us to pieces while we walk around slowed, only to get knocked back and shot up more. All in all it's pretty boring to do low damage and get shot/casted to pieces so fast when either we don't have our good CDs ready. Ok, its cool they can kill me. ITS FINE. But WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO FAST? Tanking in PvP is simply not viable. Well you can play like a tank, but you can only absorb SOME damage. Sometimes you die as fast as the Sorc beside you. Truth be told, you die faster and harder than the Sorc beside you, if he knows what he's doing. But more at the end. Lastly, my Juggernaut is Biochem and I'm using all that is available to me to achieve my performance. So I'm pretty much doing all that is possible. The result: Mediocre at best. It's a hard and stony road, and when you've walked it you'll find alot more stones ahead, where others have a clear path ahead. According to Bioware there's nothing wrong with the class. Sure, we're getting a new skill. But by WE I mean Warriors/Knights in GENERAL, and anyone who plays one knows that we really need ANOTHER button to press, even if it MIRACULOUSLY increases internal/elemental resistance. Clearly, something passive is needed, high up the Immortal TANK tree. After all, if you're sacrificing gear and skill points to be a TANK, don't let half of the attacks SIMPLY IGNORE ALL OUR DEFENSES. So I've started a Sorc, where I exclusively do Story missions and PvP, and I'm amazed at all the tools they get. In most matches I top damage, have very little (sometimes NONE) deaths and a decent amount of healing. Simply put, its ALOT more fun and ironically, I die ALOT less than my Juggernaut. For the lazy: Too small AoE radius, AoE threat COMPARED TO OTHER TANKS ridiculous. Single target threat ALSO TOO SMALL. All because too little damage and having to deal 50% of the DPS to keep aggro (and any DPS who does only twice of OUR damage isn't really "shining"). Ridiculous internal/elemental defenses: 4%. I suppose that's why I've got shield, defense and absorbtion stuff in my gear. So that it's USELESS against roughly half the attacks thrown at me. I will not be back to read or discuss answers. The whole point of this thread is to get this rant off my chest and to show new Juggernauts how my personal impressions are. I'll keep playing my Sorc for as long as I'm having fun. Oh, I've also got a Scoundrel who is fun and works as intended, as far as I found out. Sawbones healing is rather on the awesome side with all the instants, too. "Interrupt this: *instant*. Too late!"
  19. It's been stated somewhere (search yourselves) that the floating text summarizes damage. If you see a single number, it doesnt mean that it was only one attack. It could've been a few buddies who coordinated over voice chat and hit you at the same time.
  20. Well the "World PvP" (Ilum) that Bioware graced us with was the worst I've played. "World PvP" has to be done with much dedication, and can't be slapped on like it was in SWTOR. Obviously Bioware decided they're going down the easier road and focus on WZ as their PvP. If you're looking for great world PvP you will have to look for it in other games.
  21. When I play my Sawbones I usually top the MVP charts. I do usually also top the healing, but I'm pretty sure its also those moments in combat where I save people who expect to die. They'll remember who saved their asses. When I spec to Scoundrel I never get an award, because its impossible to top DPS unless everyone sucks. Should I rage quit because as Scoundrel I can't dish out enough constant damage to top the DPS charts? Silly. If those MVP awards are that important to me then you need to think how you can improve your healing numbers and possibly start playing like an idiot. And I say that because you'll be ONLY healing, when often it makes more sense to dish out a bit damage than heal against someone who's half dead, but doing insane damage to your team.
  22. OP got something wrong if you think BH/Trooper TANKS are worse in PvP than Jug/Guardians. Last time I checked my BH TANK was doing about twice the damage, and had alot more ranged moves other than "sabre throw" all 30 sec. Did I mention they're both TANKing specced? The "second jump" with buffs and what not you are referring to CAN NOT be learned if you're fully TANK specced as JUG or GUARD. If you're comparing tank abilities then don't pick abilities from the middle/near the top of other trees please. My Jug is fully tank specced, IN PVP and I'm willing to bet pretty much everything that we got it alot worse, OVERALL, than the other tank classes.
  23. Because fighting opponents with a similar success rate makes "PvP guilds" quit. Not enough noobs to faceroll anymore with your superior gear, premades and voice chat? Oh well. You know what they say about the door. I'm all for more accessible PvP gear and rated WZ. Makes it less of a Snorefest.
  24. Not everyone is as useful as ball carrier. That doesn't mean you can't perform well in other roles. Defend the carrier, heal him, or defend your own half from intruding carriers. How about a stun out of stealth over a fire pit, when the carrier tries to sprint over it? He'll never see it coming! Some classes are definitely overall better than others in huttball, but maybe the others need to find a job they can fill in better then. If you just run around killing as many people as possible you aren't useless either. You will lower the number of enemies AROUND the ball, or going TO the ball(-carrier). If you drop people REAL fast, maybe you should just do that (and try to drop the carrier as well if you can). Wait around mid if the enemy team scores, and cc players waiting for ball respawn. Snag it off under their nose then and pass it to the walkways. Try to predict who is putting themselves into position for a pass/force pull/force jump target. Knock them down, CC them, kill them if you can.
