  1. See title. Would love to pimp my DK stronghold out and am wondering if I can solo all those old decorations from SMs.
  2. Well that's just patently untrue. Ruffian/Lethality is right in the average range of PvE DPS.
  3. I think that the complaints against the Jedi/Sith cooperation as supposedly Jedi are good and Sith are evil is completely ignoring the choices and mechanics well established in Star Wars lore. Considering we've been able to have light sided Sith and dark sided Jedi since day 1, I don't think it's at all a stretch to think a couple of them might be able to find some common ground against a common enemy. Bioware took some elements from their Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Inquisition story arcs and incorporated them here and made some really cool stuff. Honestly the new alliance system is what I had imagined from Day 1 when we were to "recruit companions." Now I feel like I have a choice in the matter. And the system in place looks like it is going to be far more friendly for meaningful personal choice rather than just going through the on-rails story and ending with X light side points and Y dark side points. My only complaint is the first set of recruitable followers is pretty awful. One or two crowd favorites would've been nice.
  4. It's funny when looking back on some of the stubborn design decisions we had back at launch. Adaptive armor is so taken for granted now but I distinctly remember a dev talking about how he wanted "all jedi and all sith to look a certain way" and thus everyone was shoehorned into some of the most awfully designed tier gear in the history of MMOs. Oh and you're stuck with green/blue or red/orange crystals, get over it. I refused to level my inquisitor for the first year of this game because of how awful they looked at 50. And the class balance philosophy was embarrassing. "Shadows/Operatives should excel in 1v1, so we can't fix their sustained dps or reliance on openers" Like I'm seriously not convinced someone didn't get ganked one too many times by a rogue in early WoW and decided to exact their revenge against future stealth-based classes. And then there was Ilum. My god. That was just a clinic on raw developer ineptitude. And then I don't even know what happened with the servers thing. I don't know if it was misplaced pride that they didn't want to admit they made too many servers or what. They released this game in a huge window where WoW was dragging on the last patch of Cata and no other big games were coming out for a few months. Of course the population surged those first few months and then tapered off. Did they really think they were going to sustain that growth? Even if this game was destined for 3-5 million players this was a comical misstep by management. SWTOR has come a long way for sure, but man they've really had to overcome some just plain old stupid development and management decisions.
  5. Still looking for some experienced players, specifically a tank and healer but all are encouraged to apply at one-speed.enjin.com
  6. I have been testing the damage of my companions on the level 55 fleet dummy on my operative. I have 766 base presence (+153 companion damage) and I tested 3 minutes across 3 companions. Temple who has a mix of 69s/72s with 66 barrels, in her single target stance, evasion turned off (so as to not put combat acumen on cooldown), and all other abilities turned on managed to pull 684 DPS over 3 minutes (no sunder). My Vector who is in full columi 56s, including weapons, pulled 685 over the same duration in his dot stance and 655 in his armor pen stance. I also tried SCORPIO just for fun since I've got her in that friendly Czerka ~72ish droid gear with 69 weapons and implants and she pulled like 515. Health is scaling just fine. Vector has ~23k and Temple has ~31k. But why does their DPS scale so god awful? Now it does seem true that melee does better single target as ranged comps generally have more AoE, but even still these numbers seem way undertuned. A 69/72 geared companion should pull more damage than my healer spec'd operative auto attacking, imo.
  7. <One Speed> is a newly formed Empire guild looking to fill its roster. We are a progression focused guild seeking like-minded people. About us: Most of us have recently returned to SWTOR to find our previous guild gone. Our officers are all experienced HM/NiM SWTOR raiders pre-expansion with extensive similar progression level content in other MMOs (mainly WoW). Our officer core has been together for 3+ years. Ideal candidates are: -17+ -Not easily offended. -Willing to accept criticism if warranted -Ops ready-- We will focus on story mode for a couple of weeks to get people their tier. Ideally at this point applicants would be in full 69s with at least blue augs. That seems counter to running story mode, but really we expect everyone to be hardmode ready within a few weeks of our raid comp forming. If you aren't fully 69'd out feel free to apply anyway as all applicants will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Stims/Adrenals for your own consumption. "Does anyone have a stim I could have?" is not acceptable. Come prepared. Adequate knowledge of your class. We are not looking for absolute min/max in that you can play whatever spec you want to play, but we do expect you to pull your weight. -Mumble is mandatory. A working mic included. -Alts are ideal. We will run main raids, but if adequate people are available we will run as many alt raids as people want, but again the same rules apply. Come prepared, know your class, etc. Apply at: one-speed.enjin.com. Any questions can be directed at me in game-- see signature for comprehensive list of alts I might be on though most likely Vhay, or any other officer available.
  8. Were you using xp boosts/legacy xp at all for this? I've been thinking about leveling up another alt this way but only if its not entirely too slow.
  9. And preferably have a parse of it? What are the thoughts? Worth actually playing now? Is lethality still preferable due to too much reliance on melee range with no leap? Or is the damage increase enough to offset the downside to the spec?
  10. ME3 was one of the greatest RPG stories ever told and a solid FPS in its own right. The last 5 minutes non-withstanding. I wouldn't call it a failure. And with the extended ending and the citadel DLC I'm more than contented with the end product. And DA2 was only a failure in that the areas were rushed and reused. I'm glad they made DA2 on the whole-- they tried something different with the art and combat style. I also felt the story was more mature than DAOs typical saturday morning cartoon plot. It wasn't as epic as DAO and it had its shortcomings but it still maintained its integrity outside of being a little rushed. All the Bioware brand hate should rest solely on SWTOR. And I'm not convinced it wasn't the Mythic guys they brought in that were to blame as Warhammer had strikingly similar issues.
  11. Just tech based companions like Akaavi
  12. I have 8 50s. Most people who have been around awhile have at least 4 by now. I plan on using these weekends to level characters I already have mirrors of and have seen the story of--aka zero incentive to stop and smell the roses. My new juggernaut will go from 20-50 in probably 2 weekends. And they aren't charging me for it. I am all for this.
  13. It's not a dedicated release date until it's a dedicated release date. They could come back next week and add 2 more weekends.
  14. Yeah everyone I've talked to seems to have gotten 2-6 for a 24 pack. So let's average and say 4. That's like $150 worth of cartel coins for 10, on average. Is a Revan mask worth $140 and 100k credits? Of course not. This isn't quite balanced out right, Bioware.
  15. The certificates are absolutely way too rare . I bought the big 24 pack plus a few more and only managed 1 certificate. It takes 10 certs, plus rep, plus credits to get something like a Nihilus mask. Perhaps I was just "unlucky" via the nature of the packs, but I feel certs shouldn't be so tied to luck. They should be hard rewards or purchasable on their own. Buy a 24 pack get 5 certs. Or spend $5 and get 5 certs. Something.
  16. The trooper ship is actually my favorite ship on the inside. They have an armory, a cool brief room, and their barracks is pretty legit too. But yeah the jedi ship sucks. There isn't even a crew quarters and that cargo bay is just stuck in some random pointless room.
  17. My most recent alt hit 50 in 2 days and 9 hours /played. That's far less than most MMOs. And for the record I have 8 50s. Leveling is easy in this game.
  18. I think the whole debate is pointless. I prefer the republic, but I main on the imps. Why? Because that's where I found the better guild. Although I will say there does seem to be more hardliners on the imp side. I hear more "I will never roll republic" from imps than I do the opposite. Some people are just too metal, I guess.
  19. I hate what the internet has done to you people. grumpycat.jpg
  20. On JC it's weird. PvP it's as you describe. Pubs steamroll Imps like 9/10. PvE though? Hell just basic comm run pugs? Imps are leaps and bounds less terrible.
  21. This necro thread has been re-necro'd. Zombie squared.
  22. Hell the boots go for crazy high on JC too. I've bought 3 myself for like 800k+ each. Hilariously no one gives a crap about the rest of the set. Just the boots.
  23. Perhaps add a restriction like "1 time use, requires legacy level 50 (someone that has clearly exhausted leveling in this game), cooldown 6 months. $50" Nothing willy nilly.
  24. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in this myself. I've got the inquisitor exalted legacy set and it looks amazing with the hood up and the mask, but not so amazing with one or the other. Here's to hoping it gets fixed soon.
