  1. I'm just looking at other peoples opinions and what not. I'm not saying I'm a good slinger or a bad slinger either. I can hold my own in HM/NM raids and what not but I feel like the class isn't in a good spot honestly. We do amazing on a dummy and parse as one of the highest on a dummy but we all know it doesn't tell the true picture until raids. In the raid fights that require a lot of movement or just in itself short phases I noticed that dps drops off drastically by like 1-2k dps, an example being ToS HM Revan. I was raiding with a guildie that was a Vanguard pulling consistant 9k on revan while me and another slinger we're just scrapping by with like 6.5 to 7k dps once **** starts getting hectic. I'm just wondering if any other slingers out here feel that we arent in a good spot atm with the new raids that are so movement heavy. Our skills require us to stand there and channel our hardest hitting attack 'Wounding Shots, etc" but at the same time once we break it early for a mechanic or our window of opportunity to use it closes dps is just hard to recover afterwards. I'm just looking to see if anyone else feels the same way or thinks they are completely fine the way they are. I understand that its been like that since day 1 with slingers being define as the "stationary turret" and whatnot but with how mechanic and movement heavy most fights are nowadays if we could use a little update.
  2. So granted its been a long time since i played, the rotation just doesn't flow as nice as it used to. I find my skills coming off CD together and/or having all my skills on CD and me having to hit slash once or twice. I've tried looking at some of the rotations but I'm generally confused. Is there a priority of skills that go before the other or am I just overthinking it? Just frustrated with how different the rotation is and not being able to grasp it since coming back. Any help appreciated so I can better understand my bread and butter again.
  3. Oh thanks for the link Kendra this'll help me out a bit.
  4. hmm okay, man everything is pretty much different now thanks for the input.
  5. So wait are people using the accuracy stim over Mastery now?
  6. Ahh okay, i understand. Ill probably just make do with what i get until 248s then. A bit annoyed but i understand better now, thanks.
  7. Thanks for the input guys. So prior to 248 gear alacrity build isnt as viable then?
  8. So I've played Guardian Vengeance since 1.0 and the formula has always changed with every major patch. I'm so lost now since last i played was like early to mid 4.0 cause i took a long break and the formula has changed again since 5.9 now. I've been looking for any kind of guide but seems like everyone has kind of gave up on Guardian DPS or this game entirely to be honest. I've seen some tips of like going for the usual 110% accuracy but I'm hearing about going for super high alacrity like 1860 for 1.3 GCD and everything into crit or a **** ton of crit and like low Alac. Which performs better because I used to be pretty min/max when i played. Im like super lost as the gear itself and building the Guardian Vengeance is so different now. Can anyone help elaborate?

Set the time interval according to start of combat and death of the dummy) then I beat WillGrayson on both ttk and dps.
  15. Well if your a tank/dps hybrid you will just be sub par. Not good enough to do real damage and too squishy to consider yourself a tank. Pre 2.0 hybrid tank/dps for guardians was viable because it actually performed better for the tank in damage mitigation and threat. With the skill tree changes since 2.0 hybrid classes for guardians are no longer viable no matter how you look at it. You have to go all the way up the tree to be able to solo since the endgame planets and mobs have alot of health and hit much harder. You have to look at it this way now, do you want to be able to dps the enemy down fast before they kill you or do you want to face tank them and just wittle their health down.
  16. Haha im actually glad you did use my parse as an example. I was a little sad to see that you had created a new thread for 2.7 and my 3.7k parse wouldn't be mentioned after i had worked hard on it. But...Its okay i ended up beating it anyways lolz. Just keep working at your juggernaut and you'll surpass me because I'm leaving here in a month on May 28th for Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma so I wont be around for 4+ months so you and other people will have plenty of time to crush my server parse lol.

  19. Heres a Parse with me just messing around. My thumb went numb on my naga after Hateful Entity and I was surprised that i could still put up this number. I'm expecting it to be higher at the 3800s in a week when i actually sit down and dedicate some time since I been playing Final Fantasy 14. 21. lol Its funny how now that other classes are getting buffed to keep on par with the pure dps classes the sentinel/gunslingers are angry that they aren't landsliding the other classes by 300-500 dps anymore. While it is true that Sentinel has a steep learning curve, a bad RNG combat Sentinal has the ability to do amazing in operations while a bad RNG class of any other DPS class falls flat if the RNG isn't almost perfect. In honest opinion combat is the BEST on demand burst you can get out of any DPS class in this game to date. The only real buff a sentinel tree needs is honestly watchman, it just fails too hard with the current endgame operations with the many adds and short dps phases that it can't compete with its other sibling trees.
  22. Min max the way i have my gear on AMR, lots of luck with RNG of crits, have lots of time to practice, and learn the priorities of what goes first lolz. Most common mistake is using dispatch without the free proc on cooldown below 30%. That's what makes DPS drop off at the end since you will become severely focus starved and end up having to sunder in the wrong placement like when plasma or overhead comes off cooldown. Drew actually taught me that. As long as you use the free dispatch below 30% and never use it without the free dispatch you'll maintain the constant dps at the end.
  23. AWW YEASSS!!!!!! TOP GUARDIAN DPS FOR SHADOWLANDS AGAIN!!! Hazir - Guardian - Vigilance - 4/36/6 - 4'36.675 - 3628.25 Torparse: http://www.torparse.com/a/607124/time/1393716373/1393716650/0/Overview AMR: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/characte...7-6bc365dc8dbe
  24. Vigi has essentially become the FOTM class. Its so easy to sustain now and the rotation is so easy. Not that I'm complaining or anything but it was nice being the few guardians who ran dps running around fleet and doing the occasional SM pug runs. Now its like there's at least 3 or 4 guardians in a pug ops lol.
