  1. Been leveling *** full scrapper build from level 10 and never had any problems with champions, big packs or anything like that. Sidenote is that im Biochem so have always had Adrenal+Medpack for Champions. Went Corso->Risha->Russ and when you get Russ you'll never have to stop pulling mobs, he keeps you pretty much maxed.
  2. I agree on the pvp part, but that is the same for all classes. Impossible to compare a sub50 with a 50 in PvP gear. On the PvE part i 100% disagree, ive soloed 2+heroics with every companion except Bowdaar and it became a complete breeze after 30 when you got Risha.
  3. While leveling just decide on either crit or power and go with it. At 50 it will probably be Cunning->Accuracy to 100%-> -> And here my knowledge ends since i havent readup how calculations are made up in this game. But either just stack Power or a good mix of Crit and Surge. ------ Probably Power for PvE for a stable how dps and Crit-Surge-Expertise for PvP for high burst but not very sustainable dps.
  4. I think most European players don't really mind the hours we can't play (me included) but the silence from BW on the matter causes a lot of people to be angry. And it is a completly justified anger considering it might stop them from playing at all that day (afternoon / night workers). I just feel like a statement from BW explaining WHY they don't have seperated maintenence hours for EU/US would calm a lot of people down. They are running a MMO with 1.5 million players, they better be ready to comunicate with them, because gamers left in the dark get M-A-D:D
  5. I help people with low-level heroics, heroics ive already completed on the planet. But helping people with class-quests that are tuned to be 150% doable when on the appropriate level is like giving fish to a starving person instead of teaching him how to fish. If they are behind at that point they will behind asking for help again the next day. And yes, this is what i usually whisper to them in-game and 99% of them say thanks and join in for a heroic quest/ask where the quest-hub is.
  6. Why try to find a time when there is "no" prime-time? Just have separate maintenance for us/eu.
  7. No MMO's launch with an extensive Endgame, just look at WoW, Rift, Aion etc. etc. etc. Then the patches that come after launch gives you: Bug fixes, Endgame content, more bug fixes, some minor balancing, endgame content, and did i mention the patches that you will get every few months will give you more ENDGAME content. I remember WoW launch that had 2 instances, a 20man instance and 1 raid. And that raid instance was sooo bugged for about 2 months that you had to use exploits to kill the bosses. People that rush to 50 in this game and complain have rushed to 50 in other games and complained on the forums in that game aswell. In time we will get all the things that are normal to a MMO's endgame but it will take about as long as it did in all other MMO's.
  8. I cant stand people saying "Every planet have different cycles" as a explanation to why it's not in the game. It's EXTREMLY easy to have it programmed to have you "change" cycle when loading onto a new world. It's not like a cycle is hard to integrate, every other game has it, this game would need to have XX amount of them copy-pasted onto the code of the different plants with "cycle timer" changed from 1h - 2h - 3h etc.
  9. Race change would be stupid but cosmetic changes sometime in the future shouldn't be out of the question. Maybe not face shape/color of the skin/eyes but everything else is more or less things that we change throughout out our life's so why should your character not be able to get a tattoo/new haircut/a scar or even (out on a limb here) get cyborg parts/get fat or skinny.
  10. My biggest worry is that they dont have any empire/republic balance control on the servers. I myself play on Bloodworthy, and even though there is a que every night 70% or more is Empire and the Republic side wont get any new players rolling there since they dont want to play on a low-pop server with a que. They should have had a auto-balance system from the beginning that stopped creation of characters on Republic/Empire side if the ratio was more than 55/45 or something like that. Everything else ingame works way above average.
  11. Going skiing over the weekend so don't really care if it happens until like Sunday/Monday. My inner sith hopes that EA/BW realizes that they cant have people exploiting PvP to level so they rollback all servers on the 18th/19th starting the biggest internet war ever seen.
  12. People would not rage because they got a product early. If everyone had a "preliminary date" that EA/BW expected them to be able to get in on and got in a few hours/one day early this would cause the opposite effect. If it happened enough and the launch when smooth enough that everyone got more than one day we would be talking about POSITIVE feedback instead of how its going to be now.
  13. People saying "how can it be an exploit" etc. clearly never played an mmo before. Exploiting ingame mechanics to get an advantage has justified bans in MMO's for ages and i doubt EA/BW are going to be the first to encourage exploiting.
  14. Very good thread, a rare sight today. I feel that most of this rage could have been avoided by simply sending out a mail like this to all that have pre-ordered: " Good day. By sending out this mail we have started the pre-access to SWTOR. You pre-ordered your game on "date" and will be able to start your SWTOR experience on "date" - "time". Best Regards, SWTOR crew " Not knowing is very hard for a lot of people, specially younger people. If they simply gave people enough information most people would accept it.
  15. OR they simply do like EVERY other game, if there isn't 60% of the needed people signed up it wont even start. So if there isn't enough people you can wait forever to get into one.
  16. Don't see how you can call it a excellent launch when the masses are raging and crying on every social site you can think of... It's those masses that are going to make the game last longer, get more attention from the makers and therefor develop. Some of the hardcore fans might be happy but the don't call it an excellent launch because of that please. And if you actually sniff through some of the mass-QQ threads you find the ones that actually look at it objectively and they don't complain about the soft-launch they are doing but about the way it's being handled.
  17. I THINK everything depends on the servers. For example, if they had 100,000 invited today and the servers took the pressure w/o problems they will try to add 150,000 tomorrow. If the servers get a bit unstable they will go down again but if it stills goes problem free they will raise the number again. So everything depends on their servers, if they can handle big logins everyone might get several days pre-access but if they can't handle it right of the bat some people might have to be happy with 1 day.
  18. I loved their idea of trying to have a smooth launch by letting people in throughout 5 days. That being said this doesn't seem to be the way to do it. 1st: they should have given ALL pre-orders a date with the first "wave". Since they are sending out waves they know how many are getting in each day and when so why not TELL everyone that "Your getting in on XY December at XY am/pm CST". I feel that much of the rage coming out is because of not knowing. 2nd: A even spread, if what people are saying is correct they let 100,000 ish people get access today? Thats NOT 1/7 of the preorders... A reason for this? 3rd: Dont charge people for pre-access, everyone gets diffrent amounts out of the same $5 which ALWAYS causes rage. This pre-access is just as much or even more for them than for us. Even though it's a small amount of money people feel cheated. 4th: This was not known before hand so people that pre-ordered early and left it at that might not have rushed their pre-order key onto the website. If they wanted this to be good they should have made it clear from the beginning that rushing onto the website with a key NOT EVERY RETAILER sent out gave you more playtime. Either that or just built a date/time system into their pre-order keys, its very possible to "time-stamp" product keys. No, if they wanted this to be smooth/good they should have given more information from the very beginning. Making it clear in July that pre-ordering then would give you more than pre-ordering the same game for the same amount of money 1 month later. Now they are just receiving A LOT of rage from everyone for an idea that is GREAT for multiplayer releases (to make sure it launches smoothly server side). PS. I'm away on vacation and would not be able to play anyway, just wanted to give my view on this whole thing.
