  1. We do not know the effect of a 5 level hike on endgame... if opps gear is being replaced by anything easier to get than forming a large group then old endgame becomes uesless... and for people that have not done it that is a huge blow. Even if it is still in place... doing a level 50 opp at 55 is not going to have the same feeling of acomplishment.
  2. Again, they are normal... but don't normally happen this quickly. And I guarentee you that a huge portion of people will not be doing level 50 ops... and it will be very hard to find a group that wants to if the rewards are not scaled. The issue for me, and others, is how quickly this came... even if it comes out in december that is what, a year and a month after launch that endgame is close to invalidated?
  3. Yes, but at no point was it made clear that if you aren't leveling quickly you miss out on endgame because they are going to invalidate it every year.. . I know in WOW it took a long time for people to be running MC... and for those that arrived to the party late, it was a step toward BWL... but it was not for quite a while that a level cap made it useless.
  4. Before end of year = level cap hike in a year, or less, or just over a year after launch... That is a much quicker pace than I want, and for people who want endgame, and have not experienced it much would think the same way. Granted, no one can speak for an entire group of players... but the point is valid for at lest some. No point estimating statistics as 84.5% of statistics are made up on the spot.
  5. In the event that th rewards scale, and the old opps serve as entry level gear to the new ones... then the point i made is less valid... allthough the point of casual players wanting to expierence endgame and not go b back to leveling on an annual basis stands. The situation I am seeing is that every year it is a new 5 levels and oldl endgame that many didn't get to do as much as they wanted to is obsolete. The fun that comes with long term teams, pvp competition... you just aren't going to find that while leveling up.
  6. The point stands... it is hard enough to get a group of four together, much less an opps group.... much less an opps group that knows what they are doing so you can complete it on a harder difficulty. People are not going to be running opperations to level.. it is hard enough to get a group for a 4 man flashpoint, or heroic... the trouble needed to get an opps group when the rewards aren't as good as outside of it will be impossible or near it. Old 4 man content (outside of hms that people probably won't bother with) will become levveling content yes... but opperations and old PVP gear will be useless. Plenty of players were hoping the level cap would only go up wth an expansion... and that the expansion wouldn't come out for over a year. Raiseing the level cap this soon is a huge blow for people who wanted to have fun at level 50, where there fun will not hae the rewards if they do someone find a group of people to do opps with.
  7. oops... post edited... serves me right for typing on 3 windows at once.
  8. Yes it does... getting a 40 man group together is hard enough at endgame when it is the top level... getting that for a level up thing is near impossible. People aren't going to cordinate that for a level up game. One of the biggest problems this game has is group quests are hard to get going... now 20 man level up stuff? is not happening. That arguement would be valid when a 2nd opp that is designed for people with gear from the 1st comes out... old gear is no longer the best but it is a step toward it... old raids are pretty much completly skipped. If
  9. It all depends on what those 5 levels does for endgame. If it invalidates everything where people who were enjoying it/didn’t yet get to experience it yet then it can be game breaking for people who were slowly working toward it and don't want to be going back to leveling on a yearly basis. If the old endgame stays useful, and people are still doing it and level 50 epics aren't replaced by level 51 greens... then yes it wont make a difference. If old endgame becomes useless then it will make a HUGE difference for peoplw who don't want to go back to leveling on a yearly basis. It all depends on what part of the game you like... If you are only playing for story or the level up game then you will love this... if you want endgame then a level cap increase is a major blow to your enjoyment.
  10. Possibly... maybe a free to play with pay for content tranistion? Not what I want to see at all...
  11. Agreed silence is not confirmation... but at the same time the silence is defiantly fueling speculation. If it is free they have NOTHING to lose by coming out and saying "This is a patch and will be free, the document is not real (or as the case might be, the business plan in the document is not the model we will be using." If it isn't free... then by keeping silent they may keep some subscribers who would quit if it was formally announced now... I know it is speculation... but if it is free content I don't see why they don't come out and say so.
  12. There is evidence this is real... but I am going to wait until I hear an offical comment from bioware to panic... with that said if it was free I suspect they would have rushed in and said something by now...
  13. What is the purpose of the forum other than to discuss what you want and don't want? Yes there are some troll posts... Talking ab out the direction of the game, even if it is saying "I am not sure this game is for me" is valid... yes there are some posts that go to far thinking there sub is all to important and the game needs to be turned into ___________ or it will suck... but there is plenty of intellegent discussion going on Good... but in the mean time people can't play the charecters they want to because they choose the wrong server... Roll and alt? If you prefer the level up game that is great... but if you got your main to 50 wanting to play engame this is not a solution at all. Now the level cap could invalidate all endgame... and for people who haen't done much/any of it this can be game breaking. The title says "Game breaker for me"... he prefers what he is doing right now to going back to leveling. Opinons vary but to be implying that this isn't gamebreaking and shouldn't be for anyone isn't a fair statement IMO.
  14. If you like endgame, and want to spend time progressing in it and instead will be going back to leveling every year... it is a blow to your enjoyment... granted if you prefer the level up game then you will have the opposite opinion. There are some valid points for some players listed... people will complain about things they don't like and when they are paying customers why shouldn't they?
  15. I would play it for the story... something to do for a short time... But as someone who is slow to level.... I am not happy with endgame content being voided so quickly. Levveling up, while made fun by the story... does not compre with the fun that comes with finding a long term team and taking on raids, hard modes, (if they were really made hard enough) etc I am wondering if htis is going to be the habbit... a level cap hike every year keeping me from seeing much if any endgame. Would like to know what the long term play here is... If the game isn't for me I would like to know. (If you like it keep playing, different playstyle preferences should not automatically make either of us a troll) .
  16. They key word is eventually... this game has been out less than a year.
  17. I personally agree taht it is not time for a level cap yet... but for different easons. 1. Slower leveling people: I bought the game later than launch... long story that is not relevant.. With my life I am a casual player that has not touched endgame... I assumed I would have some time to get there and enjoy what has traditionally been my favorite part of MMOs. (your opinion may vary). If I am getting to endgame just a few months before a level cap is raised... then I am not sure I will keep playing. Although it is fun it is not fun enough for me... (people who disagree keep playing... different game preferences does not make me a troll and no game can please everyone( 2. Grouping: As it stands... it is hard enough to find a group for anything... Server merges might help but... well the more levels there are the harder it is to find groups for leveling content. 3. current endgame: It is part of the MMO cycle that endgame becomes obsolete... but this feels way to early... didn't we just have a new operation? Granted... this is just one persons opinion... (other than reason two).. and if it is just 5 levels and current endgame just gets easier but is still the gear up stuff ofr the new ones then ok... but I am concerned by adding new levels this early in the games life.
  18. Which leads to the question is this real? Has it been confirmed to be sent by Bioware or is this one of those if it is on the internet it is true things? Do we have a scource from where this game from yet that has been varified by a reliable scource?
  19. If you are like me and don't like the old space content I doubt you will like the new stuff... but hey a game this big I can't expect to like all of it.
  20. I am of the opinion that level caps should only happen with major expansions... and major expansions should only happen once every 2 years. There are still some people who have not gotten to try this endgame... and as fun as leveling up is I think that even the causals (like myself) would like a chance to play endgame... even if we get there at a slower pace. (No, getting to say 60 then pugging level 50 opps does not count). That was one thing I was not looking forward to... wish I saw this thread before I made my own oops.
  21. First of all major disclaimer... the following post is almost exclusively the opinion of a single person... yours may vary and that is fine. I was unable to buy the game when it first launched... and now that I have I have been playing quite slowly... With that said... Now that the level cap is going to be raised what does this mean for the endgame content and the people who haven’t done it as much as they would like if at all? Although the level up experience in this game has been great compared to others... It does not compare (in my opinion) to playing endgame... So my question to bioware is this... are we going to be getting level cap increases so often that the slower players aren't going to experience the majority of endgame (playing a level 50 opp at 60 does not count). Would be nice to know this before I invest much more time into my character... Understandable if the game isn't for me but would like to know sooner rather than later... Sense I doubt anyone form Bioware will answer this directly (They can't answer every thread) if anyone can find any news regarding this please let me know.
  22. I would much rather see the main game expanded then a mini game added... no thanks.
  23. Agreed 100%... would be nice for any alts I create to automatically be contactable by freinds of my main and vise versa.
  24. I agree with the concept and thought this sense before launch. For the record, I always ask before needing for a companion...I wait for others to roll, if I see a need by the AC it belongs to I greed... If not I will ask if I can take it, and if no one objects it is mine... if someone objects then it goes to the greed roll. I would add some things to the loot rules that can be customized. 1. What you are allowed to role need for: This needs some options A. All: As the word suggests you can roll need, companion, greed, or DA for whatever you choose too. I wouldn't use this in pugs but if I am ruining with a guild I don't think I would mind the crafter that gives the guild free stuff rolling need to disassemble on anything that isn’t an upgrade for anyone else in the group. I wouldn’t like this in pugs but with that said if the group former makes it clear that this is the rule and everyone can roll need for companions... ok not rules I like but when it is clear in advance the ninja claim goes out the window. B. Armor type: This would restrict need rolling to the highest quality available for your class... so Bounty hunters aren't can't roll need for light armor even if they can use it… light armor classes can’t roll for anything heavier. C. Stat and armor type: This would be the default, but group leaders could change it before the run starts i they so choose. It must have your stats on it for you to roll need. If you are a BH you can't roll need on heavy armor with stregnth. It must have aim. Also would be nice if when you mouse over the companion option it shows you what gear each companion has... or reach one that wears light/medium/heavy armor so I can see if my companion actually needs it or not because I don’t have their armor sets memorized. Binding: Many items are BOP so this is only applies to BOE... I want the option to have items bind on need so the options are simple. A. No force binding: If it is BOE it stays BOE reguardless. B. Bind on need: If you roll need it is instantly bound. This would stop needing for the GTN. If it goes to a greed roll then it remains unbound.
  25. I first should clarify that while I said I'm glad I didn't play SWG that is a play style preference... if you liked the game that does not make you any better or worse than me. Anyway... Crafters being the rich people can be a problem. I never liked the idea of the best items in the game being crafted. I remember a few epic crafted items in wow that had few alternatives too outside of the large raids... the market price was set by gold buyers where legit players could not hope to match it in any reasonable time... (Bioware needs to be doing everything it can to stop credit buyers and sellers, but they will never catch all of them. When i say reasonable meaning time it takes to get a piece of gear in a raiding guild). Many (again not all) of the SWG fans are asking for crafting to be a core piece of the game...
