  1. For me also, I literally can't play until this is fixed. That trailer got me so hyped too, what a waste.
  2. I have this bug on my merc and my fury mara, my pt is fine though. so weird. Seems to for me, the bug is on characters I have been playing and leveling recently. My toons I have not touched in over a month seem fine.
  3. Anyone know a fix to any of these, or are we having to wait for a patch before we can play the game?
  4. yep, same exact thing is happening to me.
  5. exact same thing happens to me, game is literally unplayable.
  6. Sounds like alot of the same issues we were having when formulating our round one questions. Darkness-PVP Overall this tree is in a good place. Still the third choice for high level ranked arena's due to less survivability and utility than the other tanks. But the single target damage is a nice trade off and is very viable. Darkness-PVE Again the changes to this tree bought down the spikiness and is perfectly capable in high end Operations. Deception-PVP Perfectly fine. Deception Assassins are doing very well in WZs and Arenas. Deception-PVE Some tweaking would be nice for sustained damage, but it is still capable as is. The execute phase dps potential is good enough to make this spec viable in Operations. Madness-PVP Where do I begin. This spec fails in every single area of pvp. The two biggest would be burst and survivability. Many good and bad ideas were thrown around on how to fix this. For increasing burst one popular idea is giving us and auto proc on our Assassinate ability or giving us back Maul. Both of these ideas are good but for me we need something a little more on demand. Having auto proc or % proc based burst still needs ramp up time which this skill tree suffers. Another area this spec fails is how our dots are applied. One dot is 9sec cd and the other can only be applied in melee, if Lethality Operatives can spam aoe/dots from range then we should too. Making our dots easier or more efficient to apply as well as some type of burst will go along ways to help this tree in pvp. As for suvivability the two obvious choices are to increase self heals or give us more static mitigation, or both lol. Not only is this by far the squishiest spec in the game, it takes the most risk with having to go to melee to do anything. Something else that needs to be done is our cc capabilities. For the most part in most MMO's the classes that were the squishiest also had the best cc. Give us an instant WW that affects 5 people at 10m (flashbang anyone). Maybe take the root off of CT and reduce its CD to 0 and instead attach a 2 sec stun to DF. I could go on and on but something needs to be done. The squishiest spec in the game should not also have the worst burst and cc in the game. Edit, after I posted this I thought of something else that another advanced tree gets that would benefit this tree. The ability to reset the CD on Shroud and Deflection would be a great way to give us some melee staying power to get through our excessive ramp up time to Raze. Madness-PVE Its obvious something needs to be done. I don't care if its Maul, or Assassinate that gets us back on top, but like I mentioned before we have less armor than Mara/Jugg/Op, and we take more risk than Sniper/Merc/Sorc by having to be in melee range. Our dps should be number 1, probably 2-4% higher than everyone else. WIldcard I would like to see a change to Phase Walk as well. Instead of pre-placing it we should be able to choose where we go. Use the throw huttball mechanic and let us activate a place-able retacle and let us Phase to that location. This way we we can dot from range then Phase Walk in for some Thrash/Raze spam. Or we can use it to avoid getting bursted down in pvp. Being able to Phase Walk to a higher cat walk would be amazing. Even if this would be the only change Madness gets it would be worth it to play this spec.
  7. So let me get this straight. OS was changed because Lethality Snipers were using this in their single target rotations. So they made some changes and now the two specs that had talents to support OS can't seem to fit it into their rotations with out a dps loss, however Lethality Snipers are the only Snipers that can fit OS into their rotations and have a dps gain? I am so confused
  8. From a pvp perspective, I am very disappointed. I think the tank changes are good, they will definitely help with Sin tanks being bursted so easily. But PT and Jugg tanks still have more tricks in their bags, still not gonna make the Sin a favored or desirable class for pvp. More damage on the melee attacks for Deception is better than nothing, but it isn't going to bring our sustained damage where it needs to be in pvp and pve. The main issue with Deception is outside of Recklessness you never crit with your force attacks, hell sometimes my Reck buff will expire with 3 stacks because 80% chance to crit still isn't enough. They got to fix our crit rng. Madness, in another post I went on a small rant about what I think. To sum it up, giving us un-cleansable dots won't change anything. Sadness will remain exactly how it is for pvp and pve.
  9. I find MM really boring. I pretty much just leveled exclusively through pvp going back and forth between Lethality and Engineering, I really like them both. Double wall banging someone has got to be one of the funnest things to do in this game.
  10. Yeah my original post with the video link, towards the bottom I listed some areas for concern with both specs that I was advertising. I dont remember exactly what I said but it was along the lines of both specs being great for regstars but failing in arenas. Like I mentioned, after I get all cozy with my Sniper in arenas I will definitely do my best to get my Sin into competitive arenas and see if anything other than Deception could be viable. As for right now, Deception is probably the best spec to go with considering it has front end burst and at least it has mediocre sustained damage. Just thinking about my Sniper gets me excited. Snipers get cc immunity, shields, aoe mez, root, ranged interrupt, armor debuff, healing debuff, lots of aoe dmg mitigation, accuracy debuff, and can do great burst and dps at range.
  11. Thank you for showing me the math behind the Mara, I had no idea they could be that powerful. As far as the numbers of Deception vrs Dark Maul, I do appreciate the work and effort you put in to comparing these specs. I never crunched the numbers myself, all I did was side by side parses and compared them in a specific time frame. For the parses I did, Dark Maul came out on top the majority of the time. I have stated this many times, if your goal is pure damage than Deception is definitely the way to go. I am not disputing that Deception will put out more overall damage, after all, most fights last alot longer than 12 seconds. You also claim that we disagree on weather or not Dark Maul spec would be viable for arenas. I think you are wrong here, I DO AGREE WITH YOU. lol, I am going to be doing arenas exclusively on my Sniper. That is a pretty good indication of how much I believe in Dark Maul or the entire Assassin class. I only hope that maybe with the right type of team comp that a tank hybrid Assassin could find a role here. After I am BIS with my Sniper I will go back to my Sin and start messing around and gearing him out, I will definitely let you guys know if it can work in arenas.
  12. I don't want to quote your whole post but I did want to touch on a couple points that stood out to me. One of your posts I debated the claim you made about Mara being able to hit 30k dmg in three globals, (can't remember the exact damage at this moment), anyways in your counter point you listed Ravage as one of the abilities that take the Mara to this insanely high burst. When you used the term global I was basically thinking of instant cast abilities. A 3 second channeled ability should not be considered one global. But for the sake of argument we can probably agree that Ravage should be worth 2 globals since it lasts 3 seconds. Even with a Ravage and crit on Force Scream, I do not think this damage would be better than a Shock/Maul/Discharge from a Sin. As far as Deception vrs Dark Maul burst. I have spent many hours, literally hundreds of openers on dummies to see what spec yielded the best opening burst. Now, sometimes I did great with full Deception, and Dark Maul never even proced Energize. But on average, Dark Maul would beat out Deception. I would open and at the end of my first Dark Embrace I would Blackout, at the end of my second Dark Embrace I would stop the parse. Now the first few globals, with Recklessness, both specs would parse very similarly. Where Dark Maul would pull ahead was in the back half of the parse and those second and third Energize procs pull ahead for Dark Maul. During the Reck buff, Dark Maul Shocks hit harder hands down and I take advantage of double Discharge which again is hands down more damage. These are the main reasons I claim that Dark Maul has best opening burst. As you pointed out, it can barely beat Deception in burst. Deception hands down does better sustained damage. And most people would not trade that sustained damage for better defense. You make a strong argument about having a full tank or full dps doing better than a class that can only do descent at either. And with certain comp set ups, you are probably right. I do not run Dark Maul as often as I like. When I was doing RWZ's I had to quite often run Madness or full tank. I personally think that having a hybrid tank that is guarding healers and still putting out crazy burst is well worth the sacrifice of sustained damage. After all, Deception sustained damage is crap compared to other dps classes anyways. You are already gimping your team in sustained damage if you bring an Assassin. Well since our entire AC is screwed in this area anyways, it isn't much of a sacrifice to have better defense and also guard healers if you can keep what makes Assassins powerful, opening burst. Dark Maul is way more than a 1v1 spec. I have so many situations and memories flooding my brain right now of how successful I have been with this spec. I don't even know where to start. Ill just say this. Being able to guard a healer and put out crazy burst is sexy. I don't have tank stats, no shield and barely any armor. But you don't need it if your healer cant be killed. Healing in this game is op, most healers I guard keep me easily.
  13. There are lots of builds that are doing well in wz's. Full Darkness and full Deception are doing really well. There are a couple Darkness/Deception hybrids out there that are nice as well as a beast of a spec 0-31-15. I would just read up on the forums as much as possible as we are always debating the best specs and their roles for pvp.
  14. With the 12-31-3 spec I used Blackout all the time. The Dark Embrace buff that comes with that talent is a must for this spec to succeed. I did not show it in my vid cause I was short on time and just wanted to show off the double discharge. Ontop of that there was only undergeared players in the few WZ's I did so they were usually dead and I did not need to use it at all. But with tanks and guarded targets, Blackout is a must. I also use it in a long skirmish, I will hold off until I see someone at 50% or being focused hard, then Ill sprint over and hit Blackout so I can Thrash/Shock spam them. As I mentioned a couple times already, been playin around with 18-28-0 or 18-27-1 the last few days. It seems sacrificing that second Maul proc for sexy force regen is going to be the way to go. Blackout will become a defensive cd again as the force regen is not needed, unless you want to Maul spam.
  15. You know that its 50% more crit damage right, not crit chance. They way you worded this makes me think that you haven't even read the Energize talent. Energize guarantees a crit on Shock as well as increase the crit damage bonus by 50% during Recklessness. That applies to your Chain Shock as well. So you go from 4.5k+2.2k to 6k-3k on your Shock damage during Recklessness. Which is going to happen 100% of the time on every single opener. If you think that 50% increased crit damage is "Exactly, nothing" then why don't you get rid of your Crackling Blast talent in the Deception tree, because all that talent adds is 50% crit damage.
  16. There is a section of my vid where I open on a Commando at 3:15. I stance dance in stealth and open about a second later. I open with Low Slash at 37 force and it takes me to 7 force. I Maul a few seconds later, I Shock on next global, the third global Discharge. I fear he is going to get away from me so I hard stun him on the 4th global and then finish him with Assassinate. I had 30+ force at the end, I never used Saber Strike and still had Blackout available too. I don't think you give enough credit to our Dark Embrace buff and how much force it gives us. This isn't just theory crafting possibilities either, I have proof that you can start a fight with 0 force and be perfectly fine. Ideally I like to start with at least half my force pool, but to think you have to have 100% of your force to start is ridiculous. You are trying way too hard to bash this spec. You are trying way to hard to theory craft the possible negatives of this spec. In my video I never even got to the second half of Dark Embrace via Blackout. Or even a stealth reset for 24seconds of whoopins. So for you to claim that it can't be done, it's starting to let everyone how little you know. Specially when I proved it can be done, and easily. Just so you know, when you are stealthed, you are in permanent Dark Embrace. Most of the time I have already recovered my force from the stance dance before I even open. I do not know why you think that I need to recover my force from my stance dance before I can burst. I showed everyone that you can stance dance and open with full burst potential with as little as 30 force.
  17. I don't think Carnage can come close to Assassin in 3 globals. Just using the numbers I used above I can Maul 8k, Shock 9k, and Discharge 8.5k. That is over 25k in 4.5 seconds.
  18. @JP_Legatus, The comment I made about Deception not being capable of 3500dps was something I said because I was heated and let Evolixe get under my skin. At the time I was thinking about the gear that I was in and didn't consider Deceptions potential in full Conq. That being said.... There isn't a rotation that you do in Deception that cannot be duplicated in Dark Maul. All the abilities cost the same amount of force. Except with Dark Maul your Discharge is 6.2k+2.6k (in my gear) and Shocks are 6k+3k. The Mauls are going to be a wash and I guess you could technically make an argument for VS>Thrash, but that is only going to be a few hundred damage at best. Dark Maul also has a chance to proc another Energize during this first 10 seconds which even with out the Reck buff it still does 4.5k+2.3k. Dark Maul is better opening burst. There isn't a sequence of abilities that you can do in Deception that can make up for the fact that Discharge and Shock both hit for less damage than they do with Dark Maul spec.
  19. I used to run Xalek mainly so I can take advantage of Maul procs easier. Recently I got Treek as a companion and let me tell you, this little mama is bad ***. Holds great threat and even throws out some heals when she is in tank stance. This companion is full of win. If you want to go full tank then putting dps gear on her and putting her in healing stance is a great way to go, lots of dps and heals.
  20. Hey bud, I think the advice you give for this spec is pretty sound. I have a slightly different spec with a different play style that also works well vrs Deceptions Sins and Maras. http://www.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/sith-assassin/11/?build=022331001120003000000000000000000322230021102030221002000000000000000000000000000000000000000000&ver=20 With this spec run full DPS gear. I made a video recently showcasing how to double discharge and in that vid I used 12-31-3 spec, so this is a slight variation of that. With this build, I don't open with Spike as it will consume a Reck charge. However you can open with Low Slash if you like, or I actually been opening with Spike or Maul, and follow up with Low Slash, 95% of the time Low Slash goes off before I get noticed or cc'd. But just like how you described, by doing that I have a good chance at having an Energize or Duplicity proc. From here unleash Hell with your double Discharge and big Shocks. If it is single target, then use your Double Discharge first so both will crit, if there are multiple targets then you want to Shock first then Discharge so the aoe part of your Discharge won't consume all your Reck charges. The advice you gave on using your cc's and countering opponents cc's is pretty solid. I practice the same techniques with this build. After your opener your opponent should be well below 50% health and hopefully you are winning the cc battle. At this point your force regen from Blood of the Sith talent is going to carry you through the end of the fight. Just basically spam Thrash for Energize procs and nuke. Use your defensive cd's as needed. Where this spec really shines is when you get 2-3 energize procs right in a row, taking down healers is so easy when this happens. Now, with this spec we have the Electric Ambush talent, so when you Vanish/Sap, or Vanish Spike, you get a reset on Reck. I like to use this when I have an Energize proc so I can immediately send off a huge Shock. Instead of countering burst with the defensive spec, you can out burst Deception and Maras with this spec. Both are viable. Both shine as you get top tier gear. Anyways, sorry this was so long I tried to keep it short, and I hope this helps.
  21. So the last few days been messing around with 18-30-0 spec. A different version of my beloved Dark Maul spec. I think it is actually better. You lose alot of crit from Maul and Thrash, but the force regen is sick. One of the reason I had success with Dark Maul during openers is the fact that you get a Duplicity proc right from the get go and you get another Duplicity proc with in a few globals. Combine that with Shock and Discharge and you put out serious pressure. The 18-30-0 spec, doesn't have the same opening burst due to only having one Duplicity proc but does actually put up similar numbers because the force regen is so good you get off more Shocks and you can Maul spam during your Dark Embrace buff. Secondly, when you do get lucky with 2-3 Energize procs in a row, you have plenty of force to fire those bad boys off. It definitely is a huge increase in sustained damage where the old spec completely fell apart.
  22. I am no where near talented, and my pc sucks. I am sure that an equally geared and talented player will be able to beat me regardless of the AC he plays. But in WZ's when people don't have 100% of their cd's, I do extremely well. Well enough that I want to spread the love about this spec. It is probably because I am so used to the spec, but I always do very well in the situation you described about blowing up someone and then getting opened on by another person. What this spec has is a bit more defense and more staying power. I find it rather easy to chain kill, even though in theory you'll never have the force to do it. Now, I am not stance dancing in these situations, pretty much double discharge for this spec is at the beginning of a skirmish, great for taking nodes 1v1. But with the time it takes to get to the next guy, deal with the cc or the kite that is on me, I seem to always have force for what I need when I get to me target. On another note, I have been trying out 18-28-0 the last few days. When I first tried this spec many months ago, I dismissed it due to it losing the second Maul proc. But the force regen is sick, definitely has a huge increase in sustained damage as I have even more force to capitalize on more Energize procs. The force regen also helps with the stance dancing while stealthed, it only takes a few seconds to go from 0-100%. 18-28-0 definitely helps with where 12-31-3 falls apart for most people.
  23. I used to think the same thing when I ran Wakajinn, I thought since stance dancing depletes 100% of your force there is no way in hell that it could possibly help you in any way. Someone in my guild told me about being able to double discharge and get Raze procs while in Surging Charge. I was very very doubtful. I thought, "who the **** cares if you can get a Raze proc or double Discharge, you won't have any force to use that ****" Then I tried it. What I found was during Dark Embrace even when you start with 0 force, I still gained force as I spammed the same abilities I always have. I don't know why you are so focused on bashing this spec and me. I am promoting it because I am having success and fun with it. All I see on these forums is QQ (myslef included sometimes). I am just trying to spread the word on what I am doing and hoping that some will give this spec a try and like it. What really baffles me about how much you hate this spec and me, is the fact that you have never even tried it.
  24. Its not a glitch, it works 100% of the time. It might not be intended by the devs, but a glitch indicates that it only happens rarely. What are we talking about? We are talking about opening burst, so ya you only need the first one, cause after you open, well your open. Get it bro, we are talking about OPENING. Ill take a double discharge only once as apposed to not at all. After all, its like a free 6k dmg. Yes, as a defender it is more difficult to time the dance perfectly apon opening. A couple things that I do. First, I hang out in Surging Charge. If it is a non stealther you will see him coming from a mile away and you have plenty of time to prepare. In the event of another stealther I spam Low Slash as I am looking for him. If you get the jump, then you got 4 seconds to pop Reck, dance to Dark Charge, Maul and start your whoop ***.
