  1. Sam'ain I actually like some of the pieces of the blackhole/campaign gear.
  2. There is no tanking matrix cube for assassins. It's ok though, you will want one of your relics to be a dps relic anyway. Why? Threat generation is not so great.
  3. I play a Darkness Spec Assassin and tank PVE content for my guild 1. How do you think your Assassin spec is perceived by other classes? As a squishy offtank. Good for picking up trash mobs and just in case the main tank I can pick up the mob long enough for a in combat res to get the Mt back up so he can take over. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I can understand why my healers don't like having me tank bosses. With my self heals now being nerfed and my mitigation being avoidance dependent, I'm not the ideal person to tank something hard. This bothers me, of course, because I lead our raid and specifically wanted to be main tank. Overall, I am leveling a powertech so i can stop playing my assassin and have more reliable damage mitigation as well as higher threat generation.
  4. bottom line: this thread, and the whiners who are complaining about more progression and development for their characters via levels and content are the same people who would complain about anything, anywhere, ever...just because it gives them something to do. If you want to complain about this game, there are plenty of real issues to go ahead and discuss. Patches breaking more than they fix, customer service being somewhat inadequate, the art direction of their end game gear designers. But more stuff to do? really? That's just.....wow ...just wow.
  5. On the topic: A new level cap is nothing to be afraid of. Yes, you will have to get back on the treadmill if you want to stay competitive, but in this game, that basically amounts to just doing the new content they provide for you and switching out the mods in your gear (and augments) to a more level/power appropriate set of mods/augments. Big whoop. If you like the way the new custom or artifact (raid) gear looks, then you get the pieces the same way you got the pieces you have now. by doing the content, killing bosses, and getting your stuff. How is this bad? It isn't like in wow where you got these 5 pieces of completely awesome looking and beastly itemized gear and it became useless and you went back to looking like a court jester for another 10 levels. (the cosmetics portion of their game is different now too with their transmogrification) Currently, in THIS game, you can't take 8 or 16 people, geared in columi gear and expect to dominate at nightmare mode Explosive Conflict. Same principal for the new content. With the added benefit of new abilities, new talent points (presumably), new main character progression story line content, and new flashpoints and ops. I mean, what do you want? Stagnant content? Stagnant progression? Also, on level cap: Whether it's 3 or 5 or 10 levels..who cares? It's NEW CONTENT! I honestly never get the folks who absolutely hate doing leveling content. It's story and character development people. This is an MMORPG, meaning there are roleplay elements in this game that require SOME storyline development in order for you to be able to have a character in a lore rich environment. Otherwise, this would not be an MMORPG, it'd be an FPS. If that's what youo like, then..honestly, you chose the wrong game to invest time and money into. I refer you to any number of other console and computer based games whose story development is done on the back of the box they come in. Have at it.
  6. The upcoming big content patch with the new companion and space mission along with new levels looks very interesting. Will this be free content we get for being subscribers or a new expansion? I ask this because typically new levels means expansion and in "other" mmo's (which shall not be named) these cost another 30-40 bucks. If so, is there a price point in mind for this?
  7. Then you don't recall. The 1.2 PTR character copy was by invititation only, the 1.3 char copy was not. All you had to do was click a link, sign up, and they manually copied you. Yay for reading and knowing what you're talking about! Then again *reads some responses in threads* Nevermind, you are fitting right in. No one in this thread has a right to complain because so very few of you were able to read, click the link, sign up, download the PTR, and test. So, when it releases, whether it is now or later, and it is buggier than a mofo, you have only yourselves to blame. Also, for the person who said that no one wanted to go play a beta because of blah blah internal testing... I have no clue what mmo experience you have, but it must be nothing because EVERY mmo has PTR testing of major content patches and it is the responsibility of the players (not the devs) to test it, break it, and help make it better there instead of on live. Why? Because a small group of developers can't be expected to be omniscient and magically know where every bug is in this patch. They have good ideas but that's it. We help them. That's called cooperative learning. We agree to help one another learn how to make this patch as best as it can be. As far as the ambiguous nature of the dev blogs goes..yeah they are ambiguous. But that is hardly analogous to outright lying. With all the chicken littles on these boards, I would do a bunch of double speak as well every time I said anything. Safer that way.
  8. Yesterday a few guildies and I were discussing how it seemed a bit unfair that PVP players could buy the schematics to make custom armor versions of their favorite PVP set thus far. (Augmented versions no less) The one caveat is that they needed to meet a certain valor requirement to be able to actually use the set. So, this got me thinking. What about a set of schematics that can be purchased at legacy level 50 that lets you craft the Custom schematics version of the PVE sets. This lets the PVE players have the gear as well with augment slot. The requirement could be legacy level related. Maybe they have to have a minimum legacy level of 40 for the Tier 1 gear and Legacy level 50 for the Blackhole/Campaign gear. I think this is a similar type of status feature that you can add to the game for PVE players so we don't feel like PVP players are the only ones that get to have the look they want and still benefit from an augmented set. Currently, for example, on my tank I can only have one piece of augmented gear on my character. The other four pieces have to be the purple set pieces from the vendor because the tank set bonuses are so darn good. But making a custom version of the PVE set with an augment slot would let me take advantage of the new augment system and get a status like reward from attaining max legacy level. Just a suggestion
  9. and My only addendum: Use on mouse over functionality not just for healing but also for anything we want. For example, in my case, Taunt on mouse over would be SUPER useful. With a shift or ctrl modifier for Mass Taunt.

  13. Hello all! Introduction: I am the artist/writer for http://www.punkinstudios.com and I have been a long time MMO player. To my friends I am known as Sam, after my character Sam'ain or Samain on Rubat Crystal. I absolutely love fan art and love making it. Especially for friends or fellow star wars folks who are enjoying this game as much as I am. This is the thread I plan to use to post up the SWTOR related work I have been doing and will be doing in the future. I hope you enjoy some of the work as much as I enjoyed making it for my friends, guildies, and other folks. Currently, I am working on a few forum signatures and guild backgrounds but the first few pieces I am posting will be the "for fun" pieces I did for a few friends and my former guild 'Unbound Zealots' on Rubat Crystal. (Hi all!) -=Requests=- NOW CLOSED - PM FOR INFO Currently working on requests for: Darth-Rion mirdthestrill Teccarphi Rules: Some rules for this thread, if you please. Don't flame or troll this thread. I understand the temptation is HUGE but please keep it civil. If you want to offer up a critique, I am all for it. Just make sure you make it a REAL critique, not something inane like "Umm, lol. This sucks. So and so is better" If you need some pointers on how to critique and make it count, then read this: http://mavyrk.deviantart.com/art/A-Verbose-Guide-to-Critiquing-24840061 Now, onto some of the stuff. The first couple are a couple of bust shots I made to be used as a background image for unbound zealots. You can see the finished piece here: http://unboundzealots.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=420437&TabID=3575552 http://www.punkinstudios.com/Sith.png http://www.punkinstudios.com/twilGirl.png This next piece was just a beauty shot with the character's name for a friend in my current Guild (Imperialis - Rubat Crystal) http://www.punkinstudios.com/XaltotanSmall.png I will post more as I crank them out. Hope you enjoy. Thanks.
  14. Obvious troll is obvious. This thread needs to be locked. His questions were answered. If he was serious about them, instead of trolling, then I only have one other thing to add. http://www.swtor.com/community/search.php?do=process That is this forum's search feature. learn to use it. PLEASE! It will save you, and everyone else, a ton of time.
