  1. I support this. One of the biggest problems of gsf has been lack of rewards. 4.0 decreased queues even on The Red Eclipse that was because gearing was so easy people like me were doing that for alts that rarely even got used in ops. Most noticeably early queues (1-3 hours before daily reset) decreased. Now with 5.0 first time since gsf launch I have seen noticeably increased gsf activity, on TRE we get more pops before daily reset and during our prime time we have usually had 2-3 sometimes even 4 simultaneous matches. What does this mean? Maybe gsf wasn't such a failure in terms of popularity due to way it was made, but because it has barely any rewards connected to rest of the game and apart from titles those few rewards there are you can buy from other players. Lack of rewards didn't give players any incentive to play it and low popularity compined with a bit overpriced (ships) and pointless (cosmetics) cartel market unlocks were reason why it didn't bring in any revenue. Complete and I mean complete neglect from bioware (they don't even read gsf section of their own forums) for last 2.5 years hasn't helped our community either. I'm very doubtful that "cool" rewards you can get with crate tokens are actually cool enough for people to play gsf just for the sake of good CXP. I enjoy gsf and will keep playing it just for that reason, but if you aren't going to make any balance changes or any more updates to it atleast give people real incentive to try it out and maybe stick around for it. Pretty please?
  2. While I appreciate it that you are trying to make gsf easier for new players this just wont work because againts new players it's so much more about understanding the game than upgrades, It's not the rookies that get advantage if you decide to start new toon it's players that already know the game. And it doesn't take that many upgrades to make some ships quite dangerous for careless players. I did create new gsf toons recently on one server, but I'm not going to play with them that much until my sub runs out in about 2 weeks and I lose ability to gain cxp. Had they made it legacy wide system I could take it easy and fly with less upgraded alts, but for now I will focus on one character I would actually like to have geared in case I decide to start raiding again someday.
  3. You are right it seemed to kick in as soon as I got to level 66 so it's probably a bug connected to their "safeguard" againts people exploiting galactic command experience. At least I don't see any reason to actually limit the gsf experience intentionally as leveling in this game is a joke anyways.... on otherhand it wouldn't be first time bioware does something that doesn't make any sense.
  4. This is great, I will try to direct some new players to your videos.. So far I have just told them to join gsf channel and check stasie's guide as it has lots of useable builds and links to other guides, but it may be overwhelming amount of info for a new player.
  5. 848 is highest I have gotten from a lose, 1060 highest from a win (without any bonuses like win from dvl). It seems to based on medals with 8 being max that counts. I still haven't figured how much each medal is worth and what you get from winning/losing without any medals, but maybe someone else has?
  6. Sad to hear that... One option if you haven't already used it is refferal link as you get 1 free character transfer when you use it, and as far as I know if you have used link before, but never used your free transfer you still should have it available.
  7. Don't think anyone has done it quite like this before so good luck. I have couple of alts I have leveled only with gsf (lvl 40-ish and lvl 65), but on both times I left start room at lvl 10 to get intro/daily/weekly quests from the fleet. I'm interested to hear how many matches it takes for you to get to lvl 65 with current exp rates. I don't fly much these days, but if you want to group up sometime whisper Jasaq.
  8. It did feel like star wars... maybe even bit too much since it pretty much reused old tropes. It fit quite well to my jedi knight (so much that it could have been chapter 4 in class story) and probably will fit for other force users too, but my agent felt out of the place many times and I think so will my other non force using classes. I think especially my smugglers would feel like out of their league which is why I probably wont do KOTFE with them.. It's like.... imagine Han Solo facing Emperor and Vader alone in return of the jedi and winning againts them and you know what I mean
  9. I have played watchman from the begining and I really understand people who say it's like missing a limb. We lost alot of mobility which is quite important for melee dps. I didn't really think leap as a focus builder as much as a gap closer. We got some mobility back with blade blitz and I can see it having some uses, but it's way too imprecise to replace the leap. I didn't like changes to watchman spec in 3.0 and I don't like them now sadly I don't believe any changes will come so I will just switch to some other class. Sentinel doesn't feel enjoyable anymore. EDIT: It took while to get used to but after trying out oofalong's rotation and few operations I have changed my mind. I don't miss lower range on leap anymore and watchman feels alot better than what it was in 3.0.
  10. I remember bug like this or atleast one 5 vs 7 kuat mesas TDM, but I think that was well over a year ago. I'm not sure if it was bug and not just enough players to refill the match, but I have only seen it happen once. I think there was some problem with queue/groupfinder and that it was fixed quickly after it went live, but I could be wrong... I have a feeling it may have been patch 2.8 I haven't seen it since then so pretty sure it's fixed if there ever was bug like that.
  11. I haven't played on other servers than The red eclipse so I can't really judge how it's on other servers and this is just my personal opinion. Pops are quite fast here usually around 2-3 games going on during "prime time", but matches are often unbalanced. Not many premades around and when they are they unbalance games even more since premade vs premade matches are not that common. Most premades don't use voice chats even when they are available for them. Rep side is still dominant, but imps have improved a bit. Still for those who enjoy challange imp side is a safer bet. Lots of new inexperienced players trying gsf out which often can make average skill level feel a bit low. GSF channel is dead most of the time. It has never been really advertised so many of new pilots don't know of it. GSF community is quite friendly and I have never had any problems with anyone, but I don't take things too seriously/personaly in first place. There is 3-4 guilds that have probably gathered most of the more dedicated pilots.
  12. Sting/Flashfire or repair probes get invulnerability buff from tutorial.
  13. I have used both railgun and double missile/torpedoes builds on my T2 and T3 gunships. I prefer double missiles/torpedoes builds not because they are stronger that way, but just because using them has been alot more fun for me. When I tried using railgun with them I was always missing ion so now if I want/need to start sniping I rather use T1 gunship for that job and T2/T3 for fun when I want to do something bit different.
  14. I think that ships are really overpriced especially since they are just copies of ships that can be unlocked with fleet req. Actually some of them are a bit worse than their normal variants due to non-changing weapon icon. I have unlocked them all on both sides with credits even though it took quite long time to find seller for them. I rarely use any of them, because my loadout just doesn't have space to keep them in. I agree they should at very least be legacy wide unlocks. It's no suprise to me if gsf doesn't make money for developers since there just isn't anything available that would be worth spending any.
  15. On tRE I'm usually up for gsf when I'm on my imp alt Jasaq so just whisper me if you want to group up.
  16. As far as I know there isn't one atleast I have never heard of one on imp side. Sometime ago I was planning on creating one with a friend, but kinda decided againts it since I wasn't sure there would be enough interested pilots and I play mainly on rep side so maintaining and keeping it alive would be difficult without some dedicated imp pilots.
  17. It seems bastion is unplayable for me... my latency was jumping between 200-750 while waiting for a pop.. got one game and it seemed pretty balanced with quite many "-stock" players, but I disconnected after few mins so decided not to bother with it.. good luck and have fun all.
  18. For me number one is unbalanced matches. I have no problem flying on underdog team somedays I even prefer losing horribly to completely effortless victory, but I hate it when experienced players who I know have mastered ships stack bombers/gunships/T2 scouts againts clearly weaker team. I think it is happening more and more these days. When on underdog team I have almost always tried to give it my best shot no matter what the odds are, but lately I have just started to give up every now and then. Soon I will probably start leaving those matches before they even start in order to deny enemy pilots even slighest possibility of challange. I can't really blame enemy pilots for doing it, because mostly it's group finder issue and even I do it sometimes when I just want to fly certain ship no matter what for some random reason. Also I know in the end it really wouldn't make much of difference even if they all flew worst possible ship with worst possible build It's just one thing that I hate more than anything else in gsf. Trash talking. I especially remember one TDM when I was in premade with 2 or 3 other players and one of them who is pretty experienced pilot kept complaining and blaming noobs for most of the match.. our premade carried the match, but we lost 49-50. I can't but think that if that one guy had focused on enemies instead of chatting we would have won it.
  19. Well since you posted about it here I have to say that I too noticed you lagging in one deathmatch today. I would have suspected it being due to my connection since that wouldn't be first time, but I didn't have such problems againts anyone else. It happened only once or twice very briefly when I tried to chase you. While it was minor annoyance It didn't make any difference in the match since your team was winning by very clear margin anyways. I think in all matches I have played with you/againts you it was first time ever I noticed you lagging. Just wanted to let you know that whoever send you that message wasn't only one who noticed it tonight.
  20. I don't really remember too much about them, but here goes: Smuggler: My favourite.. some good funny one liners and decent story nothing mind blowing, but I enjoyed it. Consular: Alot of people seem to hate this, but I liked it. Just what I pictured it to be, but chapter 3 was kind of let down maybe because I played knight first and expected ending to be something like that. Knight: Classic star wars story, but really repetitive and boring in my opinion even though there was some nice twists. Sometimes I felt like I was one man army... Only one capable of getting anything done in whole republic and it was a bit annoying. Trooper: I don't remember much about it, but I think it was pretty boring even worse than knight's.
  21. I have no experience on other servers, but I have no complains on the red eclipse. Queue rarely takes more than 5-10 minutes on primetime. I fly mostly for few hours after daily reset, but I feel (don't really pay too much attention to it) like there is always atleast one game going on. It probably starts hour or two before reset and continues late into evening. On weekends queue seems to start waking up around 9 am gmt before that it can be very slow, but later it gets faster it becomes. Monday is slowest day of the week, but that's probably how it's on all servers. Republic is more active and dominates, but not too badly. Quite many of regular pilots play on both sides though you can't connect most of them to their alts just by seeing their names. That brings some more balance, but imp side is still harsher to play. There is some premades going around every now and then, but nothing completely unbeatable as long as you have decent team yourself. Some fun and close matches, but alot of matches where one side clearly dominates and you can tell who is going to win before match even starts. Still there is some suprises every now and then. Community isn't really organized or overly social atleast gsf channels are always quiet, but people are for most parts helpful and polite. I know couple of pretty whiny pilots, but if they annoy you it's nothing ignore can't fix. As far as I know only one fairly new and small gsf only focused guild "Ghost Squadron" on rep side, but like mentioned above Unrelenting seems to have quite many skilled pilots at the moment. That's just my point of view.
  22. I would throw them all out if I could even less annoying ones... well except HK-51 and treek, but treek would still get killed and stuffed and then sold as a teddy bear to some kid.. or I could keep it as a hunting trophy... but since point was only to pick five... Kaliyo -she is just untrustworthy b.... Scorpio -I don't like her and would have deactivated her in first place if I just had choice Gault -I wanted to complete my bounty, but I was forced to "cheat" and even take this guy who I didn't like at all aboard my ship. Aric -I don't remember why I don't like him, but I'm sure there was some good reason so off he goes. C2-N2/2V-R8 -they are just annoying ones
  23. Ugh I hate that song it was playing in my head for days last time I heard it. I don't usually listen any music when I play gsf, but when I do it can be pretty much anything from any genre since I usually keep my playlists on suffle. Still here is some songs that I tend to choose to play more often than others while flying: Sabaton - Aces in exile Iron maiden - Aces high Guns n roses -Night train
  24. Starguard has been my favourite ship to fly for a long time even though it can't really match tier 2 scout or gunships in offensive power. I used to fly with quads/ion/clusters build, but switched to heavies sometime ago. I think my reasons were something like this: 1. heavies let me stay farther away and gave me better way to deal with turrets, mines and bombers. 2. quads suck at very close range - so do heavies, but higher range makes it up. 3. heavies have shield piercing. It does make ions less useful, but it's nice to take down enemies with low hull strenght without warning them by taking their shields down first. 4. While quads can have high dps they can't compete againts burst damage of well build tier 2 scouts so it didn't really feel like I was trading much away with change to heavies. I use quick charge shield with large reactor because I have never really learned to use directionals effectively though I'm practicing with them on some ships. I usually use quick charge if hit by railgun or otherwise low on shields and retros for their offensiveness to get bit more distance between me and enemy to get more advantage from using heavies, but I have been thinking about trying barrel roll to get bit more mobility because I feel like it is one of biggest weaknesses on this ship. Concussion missiles might be decent choice too and I will probably try them at somepoint, but I think that with so many ways to break missile locks it's better to just spam them with clusters. At the moment I'm using wingman to counter some evasion of scouts and to buff gunships in my team, but I kinda liked using bypass with heavies too even though that makes ions little more useless. I really like flying starguard/rycer they are decent ships... they lack some mobility, but are strong enough to eat some damage. Still they are too vulnerable to ion railgun and while pretty rare EMP that disables systems component can be pretty annoying one too. Heavies really don't feel as "optimal" with ions as quads do due to higher difference in firing range - short firing range is biggest problem with ions. You need to be quite close to enemy to make use of ions and after taking down shields you are forced to switch for weapon with lower dps, accuracy and firing arc. While your enemy if using just bursts even without any buffs will be able to sustain quite high dps againts both shields and hull. Ofcourse enemy dps isn't that big problem unless you go againts them head on, but It's not easy to suprise people with ions either. You have to be close and they have pretty distinct sound and atleast I'm little wary of it whenever I hear it or notice someone using them in enemy team. It's not as dangerous as burst lasers or some other weapons, but still shouldn't be underestimated.
