  1. Holy Screw Me With a Frire Hydrant Batman... redownload the entire game because they F'd up? Wow.
  2. Yeup. Stuck forever loading after the patch. Checked General Forums for any solutions and only found a thread reporting the problem. Figured throw my hat in here to help promote the problem to devs for a quick fix.
  3. Same boat, checked here for any solutions. Joy.
  4. Crimson Sith Division is looking for casual players that wish to run Operations Friday nights at 9pm pacific. We are currently rebuilding our numbers and mostly have members that are engaged in various outside activities that limits our in game time. However, we still enjoy weekly operations together on Friday nights. So, if you're looking to run some OPS without massive game time dedication, drop a reply!
  5. Hmm, I have rarely ever had server lag, even on prime times and highly populated zones... Maybe I am just lucky... hope I am not hogging all the bandwith... OH GOD AM I THE CULPRIT?! -runs out crying-
  6. I have completely smooth gameplay at max settings. There are several issues you may be encountering. 1. Perhaps excessive number of name plates? 2. You failed to specify your internet connection and its reliability (carrier pigeon in the arctic circle is far less reliable than cable connection next door to the servers). 3. You also failed to mention anything about background processes and anti-virus software. These can bring even a glorious computer to a halt. Note: DO NOT have two anti-virus software programs running at the same time. (Windows has a built in one, so if you've installed anything else, you'll need to turn it off).
  7. I also would love an in game barber shop... I am on an RP server and it'd be FANTASTIC to be able to change things about my looks. Add a scar after a RP-PVP event, gain weight or slim down, BRUSH my hair or what not. I also think it'd be a terrific way to allow already made characters to be able to choose new appearance options if they are ever introduced. You can even use it as a money sink by charging for it as well as making some more extravagant looks being more expensive etc.
  8. I personally would prefer to be able to have a Last name that is character specific and then a Legacy name that is more about story and such. Always odd to have unrelated characters that are rivals and on opposite factions be forced to have the same last name.
  9. Paladin. Freeport. I could barely make it to the bank alone let alone get good xp lol. I think I tortured myself in that game. But when it comes to this game, I can admit I WOULD prefer a little slower leveling and a little harder stuff. Would make grouping more worth wild. Heck, I don't even mind low population servers if the community is good.
  10. -Gets his cane- I remember back in my day, we'd play 8 hours straight, grinding the best xp spot and get only 16% of a level and it was a TERRIFIC XP day... ... -twitch- And no, I am not even exaggerating...

    Pvp!

I been playing MMOs for about 13 years now. I have just noticed that THIS game, of all that I have played (I have not played them all, but have visited most of the popular ones), has the highest incidence of PVP talk. This is true both in game and on the forums. The talk is basically like once you hit 50, the game is ONLY PVP. Which, I guess with a lack of end game content, would be true!
  12. Umm... what if people are making alts on these servers to simply play a character on a server with people? What if they gave up on their other character?
  13. That really depends on the code. I am unsure how they implemented it so I am unsure how they would go about changing it. However, I do support the idea of being able to change your advanced class.
  14. I am fine with BOTH. I am an OLD school gamer where a majority of socializing and fun was in grinding. I am not the new insta-satisfaction player. I like working for my meal. The part of you accusing grinding as being the "shortcut" is darn hilarious to me. I've spent more time grinding single levels back in the day than ANY game requires for reaching MAX level today. It is NO shortcut. Annoying is a completely subjective idea. The reality is that depending on how a game implements its mechanics, a thing can be engaging, exciting and fun or completely mundane. It is the mechanics of the machine that count.

    Pvp!

I am not much of a PVP fan personally, and have normally ventured away from PVP servers. But I understand there are many that like PVP. However, I have noticed, of ANY game I ever played that was SOLELY PVP (Battlefield for example), this game has the highest population of people obsessed with PVP. I am just curious as to why that is. I mean, this is not a game designed around PVP and I am not even sure it is balanced for it either. It just seems so weird that SO many people would take SOOO much about PVP on a game not specifically designed to cater to it. I am thinking it may be because there isn't much else to do at lvl 50. Am I right?
  16. Why is it that anything you have to do to reach max level is called "grinding". This game was specifically designed to be about the journey and not the end game, as is completely obvious. EVERYTHING you did before lvl 50 is the "grind". Too many people have this idea that the game only begins after you beat it. Some games ARE that way, this one is SOOOOOOOOO not. So yeah, if its NOT< then embrace what it is and make it a longer, more fun and challenging journey.
  17. I am in agreement here. The game is 100% solo friendly People complain about trouble finding groups without realizing the reason why is because WHY ON EARTH would someone wait an hour to find a group, when they can solo the thing they wanted to do in 10 minutes even un-twinked? Fast travel, maps, an automated market. There is ZERO social interaction from that, and ZERO chance to meet people, make friends etc. And then you make a mission worth 8000xp while a mob kill is 80xp, it makes it less likely someone will go help someone on a mission they've already completed anyway. I like long lasting appeal. If that is through new content, harder content, or the ability to swap skills but having to re-level (SWG anyone?), so be it. But... I do enjoy the game for its casualness and will play it for some time. But it surely is NOT an MMO in my mind.
  18. Honestly, the LFG tool would be of completely limited ability. It would only be used by level 50 characters looking for PvP or maybe flashpoints. Most things can be done solo. Because of that, people wont actively look for a group to do it. Hmm, should I do this myself because no one is around, or should I wait an hour doing LFG so I can do it with someone else? Cross server LFG suffers the same exact issue. This isn't old school EQ where you needed a group. This is the new age of MMORPGs, where the RPG is single player and the market is the multiplayer part.
  19. No. The math behind it is no. (Studied math in college as well as computer science). Even if Fatman is the most populated server and EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER decides to transfer to it, you are not looking at "everyone" as logically the people already on Fatman will not be moving to the same server. Additionally, that also assumes that everyone will want to move to Fatman. Believe it or not, I am certain there are players that DO NOT want to go there. I for one recently started playing, and knew about Fatman and made the conscious decision to NOT roll my characters there. If they already have the ability to transfer a character from one server to another, it would take a grand total of one person a week to design a fully automated way to merge servers completely (all of them into different varying types). It would take less than that to automate the transfer process outright. From my understanding, they are mostly concerned about the different levels of the servers (Wealth, abundance of gear, balance, etc) than they are with the actual software behind merging. And for the love of god, next person that thinks 1 in game server = 1 real life computer server will make my head explode.
  20. My current career is close (I test software for machines that function on the micron level). What I would do as a tester would be to create two servers (This is a software thing, totally independent from hardware. Game servers are not correlated to hardware servers on a 1 to 1). Basically I would develop a script to add characters and fill their attributes etc. to another server. Then I would go to the LAST character added and check them and work my way up till I had a reasonable position to stop. This depends entirely on the idea that they have developed the ability to move one character from one server to another. If they have not, then that processes is to be developed and tested first. After that, it is a matter of running a simple script. Professionally (Being a software engineer myself by trade), I would say it'd take ONE person a week to develop, then another 4 people two weeks to test COMPLETELY (If it goes live and messes up, its game over, TEST TEST TEST TEST TEST... and then TEST). Anything longer than that means they are NOT taking it seriously at all. This is most likely the case. Keep in mind this game is NOT their main money maker nor is it the sole money maker. Because of that, I would add 2 months to each step. This is my professional opinion.
  21. I just started playing (beta tested some but thats it). I started last Thursday. I've only ever heard music when I do a heroic moment thingy or whatever its called, and a few times when it was DEAD silent (both in game and IRL), on Alderaan in my 30s. Before that, didn't even know the game had music. I thought that maybe my music was low... nope, 100%. The game seriously lacks music. Maybe its just soooooooo silent that the sound of me breathing IRL muffles it completely, but it really needs to be amplified. What I have heard, I LOVED.
  22. Something I enjoyed in the SWKOTOR games was seeing weapons hit each other to signal a block and weapons hitting the person to show a hit. I really liked the back and forth of it. As is now, it seems more like a boxing match where they never block or dodge. Just take it in the face. Over and over. Could have been done better... BUT could have been WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY worse. So, I'm fine with it overall.
  23. Caprica, Geminon, Aquaria, Picon... oh wait... errr....
  24. I would love to have LGBT romances. I am waiting on playing any other characters till I can lol. I would like to know if the LGBT companions would be added throughout the story line from beginning, or if they'd be new companions we get if they extend the story line and level progression past 50. Extending levels and making a new chapter for the story line would offer new content for everyone and also would be a great spot to introduce the LGBT companions. That way they aren't just thrown in as an afterthought to the rest of the story line. Really, actually, I'd take ANY information as opposed to the NOTHING they've told us so far.
  25. There are no players. There are only trolls.
