  1. lol, oh I forgot about ffxii. F that game. I made it to level 30 and drop it like a bad habit/ But the WoW one was still pretty bad, You had to grind more then anyone on your server and if you took a break or some one played more then you you went backwards. So basically you had to play 14 hours a day for 3 months no breaks.
  2. Was that old WoW Warmaster PvP grind hard?? It was probably the longest and worst grind in MMO history or Was it just time consumming.
  3. The look for Anime hotness in games. It's the character designs more then anything IMO
  4. It depends on what people think is easy mode. For some reason people get easy boring grind of the same easy enemies for 12 hours straight confused with hard.
  5. Go to 4:50 for some edge of your set EQ combat. It way way slower pace the WoW. This is what I mean, Combat before was set up so you could basically keep talking while you were fighting. WoW you are at least busy hitting stuff. Like i said, if you haven't played the older style games you won't know what I'm talking about because you don't know how stale they were combat wise. This is after being changes alot ot be more like WoW. I can't even find videos of EQ on launch day but back then you would have to sit down and rest after ever rat
  6. I know, I am saying compared to OLDER mmos, it's way more action based. Yeah if you going to compare it to CoD or Contra. It's not. But I'm talking about compared to other games in the MMO gerene at the time
  7. It doesn'tmean it was directed at you. It was continuing the line of the converstation. You were the last one to post on that topic
  8. Play EQ. In EQ after every single fight you open you spell book and stair at it for 1 or 2 mins while you regen. until like leve 20. Their is more down time them up time.
  9. Keep telling yourself that. People quit and keep going back for a reason. Lots of games start over a million on launch day now. They don't keep the players though
  10. it does look at game play videos For a new game in 2012 that is horrible
  11. Yes, because Aion, Terra, linage and tons of other games don't have a huge asia base. WoW started Way here before asia and gets there expantions here before they do as well. It's popular everywhere anyone still arguging against it after 7 years of it crushing everything in it's path is really starting to look silly.
  12. You also need a huge budget and a good IP. Secert world looks like a play station 1 game. People aren't going to pay 15 bucks a month for that in 2012
  13. Yes people play in asia doesn't change the fact that WoW still has 4 or 5 times the amount of Western players over any other MMO as well. Which is where they make the cash
  14. That doesn't even make sense. They make nothing from asia. There main income comes from the Sub based western market. Everyone knows this. It's why people say the asia subs shouldn't count when you look at wow numbers of 10 million. Your thread starts off claiming that you need to copy WoW to succeed now your saying that WoW on it's on is not successful model??
  15. Yeah that the reason, /faceplam Because every single MMO couldn't have the same thing if people were actually playing them. You can't sell anything if there is no one to sell to. Don't be silly
  16. No it's because it change MMOs from a glorified chat room into a more action based game. Before WoW you stood around a camp, knocking off mobs one at a time as the re spawned with slow combat mechanics and long down times. You spent more time doing nothing then actually fighting. That change was super important and gave WoW the head started it needed to be come the power house it is now
  17. There are also the biggest budget. What game that doesn't use the WoW template has a budget of more the 2 dollars??? Most of them do about the same, it's just WoW blows them all away
  18. Story cost to much for the return on the investment. Story you play through once and then it's value drops to almost nothing for most players. Most good story based games last 30-40 hours tops and that pushing it for your average player. You just can't make enough for a sub based game where players are logging 10 hours a week.
  19. They have enough trouble keep up with 8 story arc never mind adding another 2. for empire and republic This is why story is not the focus on alot of MMOs. It cost to much money to keep making it.
  20. EQ for 2 years WoW 5 years DaoC 2 years Swtor 1.5 months CS, DoD 10+ years Company of heros 5 years
  21. Why they says the market is changing to Free to play. But every single Free to play game is still getting PWNED by WoW a game you pay every month for. Normally when you have 2 products that are the same one is free and the other is 15 bucks. People pick free over 15 bucks. People tend to stick with paying when they like the product better. It not the market the caused tor to lose 1/2 it's subs in less then a years
  22. It's the same as it always was, You can't expect people to pay 15 buck a month unless you are the leader.
  23. They don't make any money if every one has spread them selfs out between 3 or 4 MMOs to avoid needed to pay anything
  24. It's not really unique enough for most people it's fluff on top of the core. If you slap on VO for the quest givers in WoW did you really change the game?? It will be better a little bit but you still have the same core game.
