  1. Lay out the terms at the beginning of the FP and if the losers don't follow, screw em. If the healer or tank wants to be more conservative and not zerg rush, suck it up, dps, or roll a healer and "do your job" of tolerating the bads CC-breaking stupidity.
  2. Yep, new project animation is just terrible. Why does the damage and the animation have to synch? Just make the damage instant and keep the old animation, problem solved.
  3. 1.3 won't save my sub. Canceled yesterday. I've just lost all faith in BW as a developer. 1. The server population issue...poor decision making. 2. The lack of standard MMO features (LFG tool)...poor decision making. 3. Mass server merges without adding in some kind of identifier to allow preservation of names...poor decision making (although this one I forgive because they screwed around until the game was about to collapse and had to rush out a fix). 4. Releasing the new LFG tool as same server, thus neutering its effectiveness....poor decision making / laziness. And finally, I'm sorry but if you can't release classes with abilities balanced to within 50% of the power, you fail as a developer. I left WoW because I got tired of the balance treadmill where everyone waited for their turn to be king of the hill and taste the sweet OPness before the crushing nerf bat swatted you back to the shadows. Everyone keeps saying that the nerf/buff cycle is a required part of the MMO genre. It's a cop-out for incompetence. Shoot for a distribution and leave it alone. And these are just my SWTOR issues. Hopefully the real BW can escape from whatever basement the body-snatching pods running the show have stashed them in.
  4. And yet the graphics are not even close to the cutting edge. As for needing an epic fail occasionally to wake up the AAA developers...there were PLENTY of epic MMO failures to draw lessons from. SWTOR has no excuse for it's failings other than refusing to draw lessons from it's competitors and some gross incompetence. Having said that and having played several other F2P MMO's (briefly), no, SWTOR is not near the bottom of the pile. It's firmly in the middle though, which is a shame, because the ingredients for a top dog MMO were there. Classic failure to execute.
  5. There are classes in SWTOR that are still fun and balanced? What the heck Devs? You've been sleeping on the job! Get the nerf bats ASAP! Seriously though, the endless nerf cycle is what killed WoW for me. I fully expect re-balancing to happen as a result of major content additions (xpacs) that add new abilities or to balance out a new set of gear. However, when there's been nothing new added for 6 months, they should be able to stabilize class balance for the most part. Classes will never be 100% balanced and I'd much rather live with the fact that all classes are within 5% or so of each other and mostly static than the FotM crap MMO's churn out constantly.
  6. Less hyperbole. Things like "They practically faceroll the keyboard and win, hell half can auto attack and kill you outright." make you sound like a whiny, cry-baby, moron and kills any credibility your post might have. If you can't post a well though out and reasoned argument for why a particular class is overpowered without resorting to "whaa whaaa.....hyperbole....outright lie....31/31/31 spec....whaa whaa" then the class is probably fine and you are likely just a horrible player.
  7. It was a real issue that's been universally acknowledged. The "whining," as you call it, has been successful in bringing a positive change that will help keep the game you enjoy going. So....pot, meet kettle.
  8. At least they're taking action, even if it shines the spotlight on a series of incredibly dumb decisions that have knee-capped the game. I mean, they could just continue to ignore the problem and hope it goes away. Of course, it would eventually go away when the only active server left was Fatman.
  9. Agree OP, low pop servers are a symptom, not the cause. However, some drop off was inevitable. IMO the real problem was that BW's server tech blows and they couldn't stack enough people in servers to keep an enjoyable experience after the initial surge wore off. The drop in players made a lot of content unplayable, which created a snow-ball effect. I think most of the problems you list are legit, but not enough to cause the massive decline we've seen on most servers. BW...buy some better servers or find out how to get 10,000 plus players on a server! Or stop being lame and implement cross-server LFG and PVP.
  10. My server is dead, same server LFG tool will be of marginal benefit. Way to half-*** it again BW. Unless 1.3 includes both LFG tool AND free server mergers/transfers, it will be pointless for most servers. Cross server is the way to go. Some say it doesn't discourage poor behavior, but you can kick anyone and have a replacement quickly. Right now it doesn't matter how badly someone acts because you're so desperate to find people for your group you have to put up with the BS. There's no logical argument against cross server.
  11. Agreed. I'd love to play an alien that's actually....alien.
  12. No big deal. Switching advanced classes would actually keep me playing longer since I'd get to try more content (the other AC). I'm not going to reroll a character and suffer through the same story twice. Not going to happen. Guess BW doesn't need my money.
  13. By far the best solution would be for us to be able to use whatever we wanted, 2 sabers, single saber, or double-saber. Make the choice not class dependent. However, BW wants every class to be instantly recognizable. See two sabers? You know it's a Sent/Mara. See someone straight out of a (bad) Paris fashion show? It's a Consular. Then you look for the saber to determine AC.
  14. A vengeance specced jug who's in dps stance is NOT a tank. They don't have an appreciable increase in survivability and certainly aren't "very hard to kill." The short answer is, jug dps isn't as high as other dps classes because BW screwed up. The long answer is, it's going to get a lot better as soon as you get Impale in the 30's somewhere.
  15. How would you know if Operatives are OP? There's only about 3 that PvP on my server. 3 nerfs wasn't enough for you, lol.
