  1. I would glady pay to have my characters transferred to another server. Our server pop is not bad and stays at Standard and will got to Heavy at peek times on weekends. But, I want to move to another server to play with my old guild from another game. Will this ever happen or is it just wishful thinking.
  2. I look at the companions a certain way. They are your friend in the absence of a friend you can quest with. So they fill the void. The first companion you get is the opposite of what you are. If you are dps/heals you will have a tank. If you are melee dps/tank, you will get a ranged dps first. The point is, they compliment you very well throughout the game. The other companions I look at as my crafting/gathering slaves. As well as the filler role if you need for flashpoints and what not. Not that the companions are any great help in an group instance, it's better than not being able to do it because nobody is responding to ads for group. If I was in a group as my Sorc dps, and we needed another dps, I'd call Ashara. If I needed a tank, I'd use khem. If we needed a healer, I'd have someone else in the group use their healer if they had it. Throughout questing, there have been times where using someone other than Khem was better, but for the most part, I like having a meatshield and whether it's called Khem, Ashara or Chubakka, it's all good. Seeing as Khem is the toughest of the meatshields, I'll keep using him.
  3. For multiple mobs, I open with CL. Then LS x 3, then affliction on as many mobs as I can do before I have to use LS in order to keep the x3 regen buff up. The rotation is pretty simple. keep regen x3 up, use affliction on all mobs to keep dot up and increased chance to crit which synergies with other spells. Use CL during rotation anytime the proc hits for no cast time. I also found that different mob group make up makes me switch up what i open with. My rotation is not set in stone but what I never forget is LS x3, affliction and CL on no cool down. If you try and keep your power up past 50%, I find it's easier to keep your power up. Once you get down past 50%, good luck trying to keep enough power to keep going the whole fight without eating yourself. LOL
  4. Doesn't alacrity speed up cast time and channeling times. So for casting it would reduce the time it takes for your spell to go off. And for channeling it would decrease the amount of time you channel but also decrease the time between ticks. That's how I understand the ability to do. So it would not affect the dots since it's already been cast.
  5. I still have thrash although I never use it. I'm a dolt. LOL
  6. My khem has actually never broken any of my cc's. He attacks mobs that are not cc'd and when they are all dead, waits for me to attack the cc'd mob first. Come to think of it, he doesn't use his aoe around the cc'd mob either. Could be purely coincidence but I'm just saying. One thing that I do that may change the way you do it is that I send in khem to the mob furthest away from the one I'm about to whirl. I do not use chain lightning when there is a cc'd mob that may get hit. Hope you get that figured out cuz if that's still a problem come end game, you'll have a blast finding a group. LOL
  7. Question to those who say that the ticks aren't decreased with an overall same damage out. Is it possible that your gear and increased level has increased your overall damage which may account for the increased tick damage? Just asking.
  8. This. The real reason for affliction is the crit procs that interact with other powers. That's how I take it anyways. The small dot that it does is pretty underwhelming compared to even FL. Yes, every bit helps but the real reward for Affliction is the chance to crit which allows synergy with other spells. The more ticks from one cast of affliction means, less power usage, more chances at crit from one spell. So overall, while it is arguable whether the increased occurances of ticks is a slight increase/decrease in overall damage, you can't argue that more ticks gives you a greater chance for crit.
  9. I kind of agree with the underlying message of the OP which is that the class seems underwhelming. I was slightly dissappointed with the class until I got lightning storn. Now that is a fun spell. But I pose a question to the OP. How would lightning be shown other than lightning? Did the emporer do some fancy arm waving before shooting out his lightning? Being a sorc dps which is primarily a lightning spec class should tell you that the majority of your attacks will be, wait for it, lightning.
  10. I just picked her up last night. Aside from her being useless to me (I really like Khem tanking for me), I gained affection from her when I chose some really light side choices. Which is anothe rnail in the coffin for that useless half-jedi.
