  1. They dont wipe toons from the PTS.
  2. And then they never make money because everyone would just play there,
  3. ...then transfer your characters to the destination server anyway? Dunno why you would wait; its not like if you transfer now, you wont be able to later on. You get free stuff and more people to play with. Waiting just seems silly to me.
  4. Because look at any of the mediums Bioware gathers feedback from the community. How many do you honestly see clamoring for a story update? This is actually the first thread I've seen since the game's launch about a story update. The obvious answer, is expansion pack. The smart choice for Bioware to do would be regular story updates outside of expansions. Just wait and see.
  5. No, having two sides is to add more variety to the game as it encourages people to try both sides and access different questing areas/story lines. And what does being Republic have to do with being light side?
  6. Is it really necessary to have three standard enemies standing in the middle of a pathway with no way to circumvent them? In particular, I am talking about Corellia and it is really annoying to have just three random enemies I can AoE down in 6 seconds just blocking my way inbetween quest areas. If you really feel the need to impede the pathways, at least bump up the number of enemies or throw in a strong-enemy. At least that way there'd some kind of threat and not just three random guys I can kill by waving my hand.
  7. Aside from just being too much for the devs to handle right now what with server transfers and 1.3, one a month would get predictable. One of the things that make the Rakghoul event special was that there was no announcement for it, it just popped up one day and stayed for a couple weeks. If they go into a pattern it ruins the pleasant surprise one has when logging on and actually discovering what is happening.
  8. I do until the turtle on his back glitch shows up. Its a pretty good way to ruin a night of PvPing.
  9. Just recently finished up a Voidstar match where the opposing team had 8 people and my team had a whopping 4 people as the defending team. As you can imagine, its quite difficult for 4 people to defend two doors, or any of the objectives really, from an entire team and they managed to sweep through in about 3-4 minutes I would guess. Of course, once my team becomes the attackers, we get up to 7, not that it mattered since there was no way we were beating the time set by the opposing team. So, I remember before that there is supposed to be a minimum number of players before a WZ can start; although, I haven't seen that message pop up in a long time on any of my toons. So, was this feature removed at some point when I wan't looking? Does it only count for total number of players and not players per team? Or is Bioware really okay with 4 people trying to fend off 8?
  10. Seeing how Dantooine or Manaan look after 300 years and the war would be awesome.
  11. Their intention is probably more aimed towards getting people into the lower pop servers rather than flooding the already crowded high pop servers.
  12. More than likely, to compensate for ranked WZs getting pushed back since only 50s could participate in those.
  13. Here's an idea. Why dont you, oh I dont know, log in and try out the features for yourself? That way you can see if you like them or not and stop wasting time here.
  14. If you could incorporate, say, Battlefront II's space combat into SWToR, that'd be awesome. At least, that's what I visualize when I think of Capitol Ship battles.
  15. There are comical moments strewn throughout. Some that come to mind now: "I used to be a field agent, just like you. That is, until a Jedi shoved a lightsaber through my lungs." Or Darth Baras': "A blind, deaf, comatose, lobotomy patient could feel MY ANGER!" Hell, most of Vette's dialogue is pretty humorous. Maybe you should roll a Sith Warrior.
  16. Could have fooled me since they give away commendations like candy on every other world.
  17. Thats the thing, its not like I avoid mobs to begin with (kind of hard to do with the design of Korriban anyway). I usually have 8 or 9 commendations by the end, but this time I didn't and it just got me thinking is all. Plus, you shouldn't force a new player or someone who rolls and alt to start grinding for commendations. The drop rate is really not high enough for the average player to have the patience to do so.
  18. On the test realm, I had started a Sith Warrior and, as I finished Korriban, I noticed I was 2 commendations short of the chest piece you can buy. This is actually the first time I have ever been to a starting world and not been able to buy the chest piece. At first I thought this might have been a change on the test realm patch notes I might have missed, but I looked on ToRHead and it does seem you can go through Korriban without getting the 8 commendations required. I dont know if this is the case for the other origin worlds, but I feel for Korriban there should be more chances to obtain the commendations. Its the starting world so new players should have a good chance of leaving with a nice piece of gear before setting off for the capitol world. I can understand if you dont want to make it easy for players to obtain commendation gear, I just feel the origin worlds should be the exception. This way new and old players feel like they have accomplished something for doing all the quests on an origin world rather than just sitting on some commendations that become useless after leaving Korriban.
  19. I never said Revan was god-like. And the Exile "canonically" slew dozens of Sith at the Trayus Academy by herself, several of whom were even Sith Lords, and, even as you point out, mastered Force Enlightenment. There's a reason why Force Enlightenment is only brought up in Kotor 2, it was Obsidian's excuse to make their character an unstoppable force.
  20. Kotor II was just Obsidian's way of trying to cash in on the popularity of Kotor anyway; its something Obsidian loves to do. Drew created the character of Revan and was one of the writers behind Kotor. As he pointed out, Obsidian never asked Drew for any input on Kotor II, Obsidian just did whatever it wanted and created this god-like character, the Exile. So, personally, Im glad he toned her down. Was just killing her off the mature reaction to what Obsidian did? No, but it is ultimately his creation to do with whatever he wants. Kinda reminds you of someone else deeply involved in Star Wars, no? Also, what did you really expect to have happen? Drew was commissioned to make this novel tie in with SWToR while still filling the gap between games. If you expected the Exile and Revan to just cut a path through the Empire and kill the Emperor, then we wouldnt have a SWToR or any new Kotor game really. You know why Drew made the Emperor so powerful? So he would be seen as an actual threat. Here is Revan and the Exile, two characters who's respective games make them out to be the best of the best, and they get beaten in three seconds flat. That isn't entirely meant to be a slap in the face to fans, its just meant to show off how powerful the Emperor and Scourge were. To make the reader actually understand the Empire is a very serious threat to the Galaxy.
  21. Because its so hard to just take along a flamethrower or just inherit some minor force powers right? This is a different era than the movies. Different time period, different people, different ideals.
  22. In an attempt to get this back on topic....yes, it would seem as the generations go on, the stronger force users become. On that note; however, if Kreia is to be believed, then the SWToR era of force users are actually a stagnation since she says that, compared to ancient Sith Lords, force users of that era were like children by comparison.
  23. Pretty sure the only way to do that would be to have different copies of characters whose stats are constantly being updated and swapping back and forth. I really doubt something like that is easy to do and, if no other MMO company has done it yet, there's probably a reason for it. Granted, this would only work for instanced PvP areas.
  24. Um...he also pointed out names like: "rawrr, jafa cake, smugglinsmarties". I don't understand where you get Im a person who "think the world revolves around me". Most MMOs with RP servers have name regulations in place. Yes, I am aware that it is against the EULA to take names directly from the lore which is why that was not what I was talking about...at all. You just need to not jump to conclusions because you feel the need to argue with someone.
