  1. As someone who recently returned from a nearly 3 year hiatus, I have plenty to do, but just as a matter of fact no new endgame content is ludicrous. It's surreal that they think they can sustain this game by being "single player" and releasing 30 min chapters each month.
  2. Well... this expansion does seem like some last cashgrab before the slow downfall of the game. As it: + Was released to time with TFA being out and SW craze at high + "Restarted" a new story to be easier for new players + Revamped & kinda dumbed down several elements with 4.0 + Features mostly solo content, severely hindering future growth of the game + Aside from the supposed Warzone in Feb, there's only new solo chapters planned for the rest of the year that we know of + Last new OP came out 13 months ago
  3. It's a game of highs and lows. Could have been much better but it seems like every time they zig-zagged, they chose the wrong direction.
  4. Thanks for the clarifications, guys. Yeah, I don't regret coming back to the game, I have plenty of stuff to keep me occupied, I want to experience all the content I missed and finally do the other class stories (level my alts to at least 50). However, I do "fear" for the game's future, I don't see the game as sustainable if all they do is a small chapter per month until Q4 2016 when another xpac is released or something.
  5. Thanks for your replies Roccobb. 3) I do miss companion customization, I thought that brought another level of min/max that interested me. So now they are just... there, kinda. 4) Ok, I get it. So purple gear probably has a few more stats to it aside from mods, right? Because otherwise any orange gear would be the same as purple gear if they have the right mods. 5 & 6) I sort of get your points of why they did it, but I don't like it. A big part of an RPG for me is growing in power, and games auto-adjusting to it kinda negates the whole process. What I meant by 9) is that I read that they released that expansion and then never did anymore content for it, as such it's still there but I wouldn't consider it being "supported". And not using our actual ships is ridiculous. I've always wanted to love SWTOR but it's like the devs actually try to discourage players from sticking around. That and now, after 4 years, the size of the team and budget they have available for the game is probably not enough to do what needs to be done.
  6. Hi guys, like many others the recent TFA movie and the new BF game rekindled my interest in both Star Wars and TOR. I took advantage of the recent Origin deal for KotFE and resubbed - I had originally quit the game around 4 months after release. However, I'm a bit confused / puzzled by some of the changes the game has had. 1) So now there are "purple" quests which are really the only important ones and doing those will get us leveling? So... what's the point in doing the regular quests other than curiosity? 2) The game seems super easy? I'm running my old BH and Mako is godlike at healing 3) Speaking of Mako, I had a ton of companion gear in my inventory, I thought that was strange so I tried to reapply them and they are now only cosmetic? So there's no companion customization anymore?? 4) I had some cartel coins, opened some packs and got tons of orange armor sets. So are these useful for cosmetics or does gear not matter anymore and what ultimately defines them is the augmentations we put in them? 4.1) So what's the point in OPs gear? 5) What the hell happened with Flashpoints?? So now I can't casually do a lvl 15 FP with my lvl 53 BH, the game auto-scales either the character or the content or both? I don't get this whole thing with Solo, "Tactical" and Hard. 6) Who the hell thought level sync in the worlds was a good idea? In other MMOs and also this one, I always loved to go back and explore without having to worry about mobs around me. 7) FE is mostly a single player affair, and doesn't encourage playing as a group? 8) Endgame is dead both in practical terms and development philosophy by BW? So the future of the game is a more solo-oriented affair without endgame?? 9) I remember they had launched a "free combat" space xpac while I was gone, the fabled "secret space project"... and it doesn't use our ships gear, AND it's not supported anymore?? I hope I get some clarification, because some of these decisions that BW have done are baffling to me. Thanks in advance.
  7. We probably won't ever see another Star Wars "true" MMO like this used to be. The trend seems to be making hybrid games which combine story and progression and some level of multiple player presence - the most notable of which is Destiny, and come March 8 Tom Clancy's The Division as well.
  8. It's content patches, not expansions. Still, 1.3 and 1.4 in a 3 month period? If that's true, it's good news indeed.
  9. They're probably doing a big space component revamp for the 1st Expansion. I like rail shooters in general, I hope they don't remove them, you'd have rail shooter dailies as well as open space to fight / explore / quest in. Including space combat PvP. We already know they are working on Guild capital ships. Hope they implement interior customization for existing ships, or maybe even different ship models that we can buy.
  10. They have said they put a team working on just space content. Guild capital ships will also be in the game, sometime in the future. My guess is the 1st expansion will really expand the space section - new missions, ship customization, guild capital ships, and maybe open space combat including PvP (ie not just rail shooter sections).
  11. This. There's a reason lots of companies are pushing for microtransactions / free 2 play, and it's not for our benefit. It ends up making more money in the long run. Of course, since people are cheap and want free stuff all the time, they fail to realize that subscription-based is still a superior (and cheaper) model, if the devs adequately support their game.
  12. That's different. Original OP was talking about brand new content every .1 patch, and that's unrealistic. No game ever can do that. Besides, I prefer that they fix existing content first (stuff you mentioned, proper LFG tool, ranked WZs, servers transfers, etc), and only after that put new content in.
  13. People get bored of SWTOR and leave. People get bored of WoW and don't leave. That's literally the only reason WoW has kept it's massive player base. Players become so invested in the time they put into their characters, that they go months without having fun but continue to do so. I should know, I was one of them.
