  1. Generally your options are pretty poor compared to what you can get easily with mods/pvp at 50. Pretty much for crafting the only good options were armband/belt/implant/earpiece (and this is only in terms of what is "easy" to get). Crit crafting and augments are also your friend. Beskar'gam looks like it might RE into something good past the first time (trying to turn redoubt beskar'gam boots into exactitude; my money hates me). I've found my exactitude carbon fiber belt with an augment slot makes buying a centurion war leader belt only a minor upgrade (enough to not be worth the badges). General goals I've heard are get to 100% accuracy, get defence rating near 30%, and focus on shield rating/absorption rate at about 1:1/whatever is better.
  2. Isn't the revive other ability a 10 min timer? Is that what the OP is talking about? I had a buddy fail against the elevator boss twice last night. Second time he had to revive at a med station. Obviously his fault for failing it, but really, its a bit of an inconvenience to me for no good reason.
  3. Perhaps. Still, it would be a mark of a better person to simply deal with the fact that life is not fair, and that some time frames are going to be shafted. To ask for a delay in patching would of meant that more players would of used the /getdown or commendation duping exploit. While yes, this is generally unseen by the vast majority of players, it is a direct assault against the integrity of the game, and should be fixed immediately. Waiting to fix either of those issues would of resulted in a need for further bannings. It is a mercy to us that they patched it as quickly as they did.
  4. Ah, ad hominem, my old friend, its good to see you again. Anyway, once again, its part of the ToS you agreed to. If it was unforeseen or unreasonable, I would say yes, compensation would be proper. In this particular instance though, you have been properly notified of the ongoing stabilization work going on, and therefore, it is neither unforeseen nor is it unreasonable. Not to be rude, but perhaps you're not being objective because it directly affects you?
  5. I seem to recall reading a phrase in a book one time... "Nothing new under the sun"
  6. So you're demanding that software development as an entire process shift to fit your needs. Look, there was a problem, it needed to be fixed. Sure, the fix may have caused a new problem, but that was unforeseen. Hindsight is 20/20, all that. To demand that they suddenly wait to fix a serious issue is just crazy.
  7. Except you've been notified ahead of time that there was going to be a fairly heavy patching process for the next couple of weeks (http://www.swtor.com/blog/word-bugs-james-ohlen). Once again, you don't think commendation duping was a meaningful enough bug to fix immediately? You can actually say "No" to that with a straight face? That a random injection of 1.3T (hyperbole, but it was pretty bad) credits to the SWTOR economy is a perfectly legit thing to allow happen?
  8. Haven't done any ops stuff yet, but I have to say I did enjoy the DI7 boss. Sure, much of it may have been used before, but playing a crane game against a malevolent AI as if I was in Tron seemed kinda fun.
  9. I've noticed that new quests appear after certain acts. Also, 3k affection isn't that much.
  10. But you agreed to a set of terms that allow them to do that. If you don't like that, then I strongly recommend a different genre of entertainment other than MMOs (P&P RPGs maybe?). Also, once again, you have not stated an understanding that the recent patches have been for very serious exploits, that simply must be patched. If that means taking it off at night to apply them, then so be it. Sadly it appears you live in a world where your prime time is not as valuable for them to service as the rest of the world.
  11. Except when the bugs in question are game-breaking exploits. /getdown was bad in terms of what it enabled. The commendation duping has quite possibly ruined the economy on some servers.
  12. Given the difficulty of the content (its trivially difficult when 5-7 levels above it), its fair. I did plenty of grey quests and leveled to 50 with pretty good ease.
  13. I'm not claiming WoW started it. I'm claiming that Bioware was examining WoW when they took those mechanics and implemented them in SWTOR. I'm claiming that they probably didn't examine EQ1 or UO when it came to how they should design the game.
  14. But just because WoW took things from already existing games doesn't mean that SWTOR is not a WoW clone to some extent. A copy of a copy so to speak. The devs have actually spoken that they did look at WoW to get a sense of what has been considered good. But lets see what else is similar: -abilities that hit a targeted enemy -Taxis -Repair bills -Auction Houses (or at least, a system for a market, over say, forced use of trade chat, or setting up vendor NPCs) -"Box" based inventory management (all items are same weight) -Vehicle use is learned at specific level thresholds (and gets faster at higher levels) -Training new skills at cost Now, certainly, WoW didn't invent these things, but they are used in WoW as well as in SWTOR. And the likely reason we have these exact features in SWTOR is because they contribute to WoW's success (as many of these simplified what was originally a pretty intensive game style, e.g. EQs corpse runs).
  15. I think you mean 2, as social rank 1 is literally only 10 points. Did you run Esseles/BT?
