  1. Sadly atm Powertech tanks are in a bad spot. They have the worst survivablity out of the three tanks. Most groups are now running Juggs and Sins because of this. The idea behind the tanks are: Jugg/Guardian: Your big man with big stick tank. They have the most CDs out of the tanks and atm the best passive mitigation out of the 3. It use to suffer from lack of movement speed but thanks to utilities changes, that isn't much of an issue anymore. Where this tank falls short on is range and AOE. Jugg tank has 3 AOEs, a sweep, smash and Crushing Blow with Aegis Assault primer. Because almost all of this class' abilities are 4m, it has the hardest time with AOE group management. That said, in the hands of an experienced tank, you can overcome that. My personal opinion for the Jugg tank is to go more passive mitigation on this class and not stack so much health short of B mods however do what works best for you. Been maining a Jugg Tank since early private beta back in June of 2011. Fun class to play Sin/Shadow Tank: Shadow/Sin tank is back from the dead. It honestly hasn't been this good since the days of EC/TFB being the progression back in pre 2.0. It has really good CDs, with the right utilities it can cheese a lot of bosses, has great range and group management as it's two main tanking abilities are both AOEs and 10m. Where this tank calls short on is spike dmg and it's harder to use do to it being the only tank of the 3 that has a simi forced rotation. Single target DPS isn't the greatest either. Sin Tanks have been able to overcome it's weakness to spike dmg by being able to stack massive amounts of health with Bmods and other unbalanced enhancements. It as of right now is almost a must have for a prog group. I for one am very happy they made this tank class viable again for serious progression. PT/Vanguard: The idea behind this tank was to be a more jack of all trades/utility tank as it has the best movement speed out of the three tanks with both a charge and strong speed boost ability. It has some of the best AOE group management and can put out solid AOE and single target DPS. Sadly atm it's passive mitigation is dead last and it has poor cooldowns. BW tried to fix that by giving PT/Vanguard the ability to heal themselves with shoulder rocket but that was nerfed to the ground due to PvP. Sadly until BW gives PT/Vanguard a much needed buff, I wouldn't recommend this tank class to anyone if they want to get into a serious progression group. Check out this thread for some gearing ideas and how the tanks stack against each other number wise: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=918622
  2. Or or or! Nightmare bosses could drop tokens........
  3. That's what I was thinking. If I don't lock my frames I can reach like over 200 on my personal ship. Always nice to have a frame lock to lower any potential stress on your parts
  4. Lets talk speeder speed perks shall we? One of the things that the community has been asking since launch is faster speeders. When the devs are finally able/willing to put it in the game, they put it in as a character perk for 2 mil for the new fastest speed of 130% Two issues with this. 1) That is an ridiculous amount of credits for a perk that only effects a single character. 2) Far more importantly this was advertised as a Legacy perk along with the perk for 25% boost to Command CXP when you achieve lvl 300. There was no use of verbiage to state that they will be different types of Legacy perks as Speeders are a character perk and the CXP perk is a Global Unlock. Here are the patch notes: New mount speed Legacy Perks are available for purchase, Speeder Piloting 4 and Speeder Piloting 5. They increase mounted speed by 120% and 130% respectively. A new Command XP Legacy Perk, Commanding Legacy, is available for purchase. This perk can only be purchased once you have reached Command Rank 300 on a character and it increases all Command XP gains within your Legacy by 25%. This perk stacks with all other bonuses and only affects Command Ranks 1-299. http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes If BW had advertised the speeder speed perks were going to be character perks from the start then I would not have as much of an issue with it (Character perks should just be legacy tbh but that's another debate). Please make the Speeder Perks global unlocks rather then character perks. I think the price is fine where it is at.
  5. This. They were stated as LEGACY perks not CHARACTER perks. There is zero reason to not put it under the global unlocks.
  6. Exactly. There is not a single good reason for these relics to be even in the game let alone in the packs. It is already a pain to get 248 gear, now you are going to waste rolls on garbage relics? It's almost insulting at this point
  7. So I have received 4 248 Imperiling Serenity relics. That relic has never EVER been a useful relic since it's creation. While I am thankful for the increase of the drop rate and I am happy they have worked on improving the Command crates, this is growing increasingly frustrating to finally receive a 248 only for it to be a completely useless relic. BW knows that we know which relics in the game are viable relics. BW knows what the BiS combos are before hand. There is zero reason to have these type of useless relics short to slow us down.
  8. My suggestion to you as a Jugg tank is to run at least 240 Warding B mods and a crafted 240 Shield Amp. This will drop your defensive stat by some amount and increase your health by quite a bit. Jugg tanks have the most built in defensive chance through our tree out of the three tanks so you can drop defense by quite a bit. ATM my jugg tank is in full 246 with some 248s, 240B mods (Still annoyed we can't craft 246B mods until 5.3.....) and a 240 crafted shield amp and I sit at about 123k HP. Now I can drop my other tanking relic for a DPS relic to get more health but I'm taking the wait and see approach to see how much health I will sit at once I get a full suit of 246B Mods.
  9. Clearly not as it does not nor ever did. I agree that leveling is way too easy currently but this item is currently useless and ranting on about it won't change that. While leveling is too easy the main focus of the dev team should remain on end game content. So I rather the devs NOT spend time adjusting the current XP gains during the leveling process. There are plenty of ways to make the game harder for you that you can enact on your own.
  10. Right now there really isn't a *need* for it. I have no issue of making it a toggle for people who want it. Some advice for you as you said you just made a tank for the first time, Target of Target is bae. If the boss is targeting you then you are doing your job. If DPS are ripping off you then you need to break down when they are doing it and why. If it is in the first 10 secs of a pull, see what type of class it is. For example if it is a merc then odds are they had some really good crits and a taunt will generally fix that. If you are loosing aggro during the middle of the fight then you need to make sure you are following your rotation/priority system. Gear is important too as you need to be producing enough DPS to allow your threat multipliers to out pace your DPS raid members. Don't forget your guard. Check out Dulfy.net for some solid tanking guides.
  11. Sure would love a response from BW......
  12. What the title says. Server went down at about 5:03 PM PST. Showing offline on the website too
  13. They won't add craftable legendaries but what ever number they put on the Tier 4 purple gear I would expect to be craftable.
  14. I'd send a ticket in. Very weird. My play throughs have all honored the choices I made.
  15. Shadowlands is the 2nd largest NA server. GSF and PvP pops are pretty good and it isn't too hard for a non DPS to find Ops pugs. Over all not a bad server to choose. Also your strongholds do transfer but you need to reactive them. If you bought it with Cartel Coins then it is free to reactive. If you bought them with credits there will be a credit fee to reactive them. When reactivated, the stronghold will be wiped clean but all your decos transfer over.
  16. Not sure if this was a stealth change or a bug but I can not change specs while inside of SnV. The character I was on does have the ability to respec without using the respec dude on fleet. Here are the screenshots http://puu.sh/u59Fu/b18a10b51c.jpg ^Can't spec http://puu.sh/u59GZ/a02474a765.jpg ^And can spec in the field
  17. I doubt he actually did it in 3 days but to answer on how people are doing it so fast, the current boost, the legacy boost, the boost from the vendor. Then you farm the crap out of Fractured and only claim the boxes when your side of the force is in control for the extra 15%. You get stupid amount of CXP this way
  18. Are the people who are running into this problem using mumble and the overlay mumble has? If so try turning off the overlay. I ran into this issue last year and hasn't gone away since then. Thus I don't run the mumble overlay when playing SWTOR.
  19. It is a bad writing style. Here is a screenshot of the achievements. http://puu.sh/u1JBQ/533fd1054d.jpg BW stated the reason behind it was they had potential plans on doing another DvL event. They realized people wanted their achievement points and gave them back. So if they do another DvL odds are they will introduce more achievements. No sinister ideas behind this one.
  20. Just a suggestion, don't put so many spaces in between your sentences. It was rather unnecessary. BW has given back your achievements already so problem solved.
  21. Thank for the information Eric but if I may make a suggestion, I would make the 250% CXP increase permanent. Before the event the stated goal was to get a box an hour. As we saw that goal was not being reached. When the event was announced, you stated the new goal for the event is to receive a box for every 30 mins of play. I can personally say that the goal is very much achievable with this 350% CXP boost. So what I suggest is either the flat 250% booster remains beyond 5.2 or all the ways to gain CXP is increased to same levels that would match a 250% increase. At the same time still make the improvements you guys have been hinting at such as increasing the component reward amount and the CXP earned through Ops. While you guys are at it, lets make components legacy wide so people can play their alts more.
  22. Yeah sadly this happened when 5.0 dropped. I didn't know that happened until a guildy told me. Glad he did because I would have also bought the same gear. I'd send a ticket in and explain what happened.
  23. BW, please change it back or just change the color of the icon and not the actual icon it's self. This was a terrible change and needs a hot fix right away.
  24. http://imgur.com/a/D4D4g https://gyazo.com/97907c59e8a610c2c482fd55edc3782e Just some of the examples of how this change was not a good one. Please remove the circles from the icon. It makes things so much worse. I personally didn't have an issue with finding people but if people did indeed have an issue finding their group members on the map can we please change the color of the player icon rather then the icon it's self. Colors such as the bright purple it use to be, yellow, or even green are all better colors then blue on a blue back ground. Please change it back or to something much better then the previous two renditions.
