Consolidated Post: APAC/Oceanic Server Concerns
mmogaddict replied to Cheezfriend's topic in General Discussion
I've just tried to submit the following ticket on both my accounts, let's see if I get any kind of response: Recently it was announced that SWTOR is closing it's Asia Pacific servers and moving all account's to NA servers. As this substantially changes the ping that I would be playing with I would like to cancel the expansion pack I pre-ordered and have the funds reimbursed to my credit card on file. I also would like a pro-rata refund on my remaining subscription time as EA/Bioware have substantial changed the service that I would be receiving by the closure of the APAC servers. Please advise of the proper procedure to do the above if this method is not correct. I have about 4 months left on both of my 6 month's subs. -
Dear Bioware, I'm sorry to report that despite transfers, queues, nerfs, changes, redesigns and new content - That I remain mostly happy. I would like to see a few things changed with the game, it's by no means perfect, but these games never are. Personally I'd like to see a few more things made legacy wide such as datacrons, codexs, commendations etc. Keep up the mostly good work. P.S. BTW any thoughts on maybe adding the rhakghoul event items (companion customizations and containment armour to either the CE or VIP Stores?)

They have alredy comments that they ARE looking at making datacrons legacy wide. Anyway, the following should be legacy wide: * Datacrons * Commendations * Titles * Social Points

Official Q&A Thread for May 11th, 2012 Q&A Blog Post
mmogaddict replied to JovethGonzalez's topic in General Discussion
Having multiple characters is a popular part of SWTOR, especially due to the Legacy system. However as a guild leader I am constantly struggling to fit everybody in due to the current 500 characters per guild limit. If all my members have 4 character each (one of each class) then we can only fit 125 members into the guild. Will you be increasing the size of guilds or alternatively basing the guild limits on Legacy rather than characters? -

Is the cap on members being adjusted or changed? Currently it's 500 Characters in a guild, but with the legacy system alot of people enjoy playing multiple characters, often one of each class. If everyone does this then you can only have 125 accounts in a guild. My guild alone have around 260 accounts in it and growing. -
Feedback request from James Ohlen - In-game events
mmogaddict replied to StephenReid's topic in General Discussion
Things like event unlocks, codex entries and titles should be applied across a person's legacy rather than to a specific character. You've designed a game which rewards 'alting' and has a Legacy system yet you have still fallen into the old developer trap of assigning event rewards (and things like lore unlocks etc) to characters. with future events please make these kinds of things rewarding to the entire legacy. -
Feedback request from James Ohlen - Group Finder
mmogaddict replied to StephenReid's topic in General Discussion
I don't want a group finder at all and certainly not cross server. -
With the current character limit of 500 members in a guild it doesn't take many people to fill a guild. Currently we have around 245 account's in our republic guild (The Older Gamers) on Dalborra. Which gives us around 400 characters in the guild currently - with people mains and alts. However with the Oceanic transfers we are going to face serve space requirements. We are tryign to avoid the issue of having to create additional guilds and then linking them with a custom chat channel, as the cstom chat channel controls don't work properly (even if password protected). what we would like to see is an increase ion the size of the number of characters in a guild, or base guild size on the number of account's rather than the number of characters or finally the ability to set an alliance guild which would then have an alliance chat channel.

Oceanic Players - Legacy XP will NOT be transferred
mmogaddict replied to Niqole's topic in General Discussion
Yep this has been known about for a while now. They informed us all a few days after they launched the oceanic servers. I suggest next time read the information when it was given out instead of blindly going about things. -
Unlike some othe games SWTOR is very alt friendly in all but one way. Currently the hard cap on the number of characters in a guild is 500. That is around 62 accounts worth of characters. At the moment we are working around this by having multple guilds and using custom chat channels like '/cjoin older' to communicate across the multiple guilds. The problem with this is that the chat commands like /ban /ckick etc don't work. What I ask Bioware to do is either increase the number of characters you can have in a guild or put an alliance system in place along with an alliance chat. (/a). You could limit the alliance system to only a few guilds to avoid misuse (say up to 3 guilds).

Bioware - Stable, but terrible launch. They really do make themselves look like amatuers at times. -
Asia Pacific Server Names and Launch Timing

Hopefully they work out some way to transfer legacy.. if not it be dissappointing but I'll still be playing on the new servers. Sub 50 ping is better than 15 levels of legacy. -

Q: Will people be able to transfer to these servers when transfers are enabled? The Older Gamers will be forming two guilds on Dalborra, 1 Empire and 1 Republic -
There are around 11 solo dailies 2 H2+ dailies 2 H4 dailies. There is no reason you can't do the 11 solo dailies they are all very easy. The H2 and H4 dailies can also be done, though less easy, but then again these are quests that ARE designed for a group to do. If you are still having trouble GET A GROUP and blow through all the quests in about 90~120 mins.

As per the FAQ http://www.swtor.com/info/faq/game#q400115 and also quoted earlier in this thread: I already have an active Star Wars: The Old Republic account; can I play on the Asia Pacific servers? All active accounts will have the ability to create new characters on the Asia Pacific servers. -
All friends transfering, BW won't let me. Why?
mmogaddict replied to SelwynnG's topic in General Discussion
I fully support allowing those players the CHOICE of transfering to the Australian based servers no matter what country they are currently registered or living in. -

mmogaddict replied to CourtneyWoods's topic in General Discussion
From the FAQ: Will you release the game in other countries in the Asia Pacific region? We are carefully considering other countries in the Asia Pacific region. At the moment, our focus is Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore to make sure these players get a world class experience playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. We will be sure to keep you updated on http://www.StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com as we consider new release locations. In other words if you are in Malyasia, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Thailand or other countries in the region and would prefer to play on an ENGLISH speaking server then start making your presence know to EAware. -

You are also wrong. http://games.on.net/article/14905/SWTOR_Australian_Launch_Details_We_Speak_to_BioWare_About_All_Things_Oz Can you explain more about where, physically, the Australian SWTOR servers are located, and what sort of ping Australians can expect to receive to these new servers? Grant: We're having the servers located within Australia, which will certainly allow Australian, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore customers to take advantage of decreased network latency and improved performance. Of course performance is dependent upon many variables that are outside our control including a player’s computer hardware, network configuration, and internet connection speed so it will ultimately vary from person to person. -
