  1. Display Port is a lower quality port. Most everyone uses HDMI these days. Furthermore, my 4K TV does not HAVE a "Display Port" because it is a high resolution 4K HDTV, not a monitor. Btw, I have a fresh Windows 10 install with brand new Nvidia drivers. The game still does the same thing. My TV is fine, it is SWTOR that is the problem. How do I know? Because my others games do NOT have this problem. If it was my TV other games and Steam, etc would have this issue.
  2. My 4K TV is 3840 x 2160, so the problem with setting the game to 4096x2160 is that is bigger than my screen. That is why the 5% loss of SWTOR's image on the left side. Setting the game to 4096x2160 is bigger than my TV screen. As I read in another thread, it is the problem with the GAME, not our TV's. The game has a problem with 3840 x 2160 and still thinks it is 4096x2160, which is why the "skinny character. I will give that a try. But, I hope setting it back each time is not a problem or screws anything up.
  3. I am having the exact same issue you are having. It looks like whatever you did would work for me. However, I don't quite know how to use that program. I don't want to screw my PC up. Maybe a detailed explanation on what you did in CRU?
  4. The GTX 960 is WAY beyond capable of running any game I throw at it. I run Guild Wars 2 in 4K just fine. This game is 10 years old. I don't see what YOUR issue is. Calling it a "super old" card is a lie and ridiculous. It's only 3 yrs old, the game is 10. Not everyone cares about running their games on 500+ dollars video cards. It's a waste of money. I only play MMO's and older games on my PC. They all run maxed just fine. I am not one of the "got to have 10090987 frames per second and 8k" blah blah. I tried that. Two of the settings were already done. That did nothing with the stretch, it only turned my game into windowed mode. I downloaded that program and frankly don't know how to use it. Removing the 4096x2160 resolution (as mentioned in the thread) is not possible since it is not listed. I also don't want to screw my PC up, since it clearly mentions "If the display does not return after 15 seconds, press F8 for recovery mode. This will temporarily unload all the EDID overrides without deleting them. Restart the driver again to reload any changes. Set the resolution in the Windows display settings. To set the refresh rate". -------------- UPDATE So, I set my game to 4096x2160, which means about 5% of the screen is not displayed on the left side. It makes my character normal, not skinny, but it also somehow resets my game client color settings and everything is WAY too vibrant. If I set it back to 3840 x 2160 then the game looks like it is supposed to color wise. But, again, my character is skinny again. I just can't get this fixed.
  5. 3840 x 2160 is my 4K TV. If I set the game to 4096 x 2160 it is no longer "skinny", but then the game goes off my TV screen and I can't see about 10% of the image anymore. Which means the Options section is off my screen and I can't access it anymore to set the resolution back to 3840 x 2160 so I can see and access everything. "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs" is already checked I just tried that, and it did nothing.
  6. Here is a screenshot in 4K. You can see my character slightly "skinny"
  7. I already tried all 3 versions, still the same in all of them. I am connected the only way my TV has, high quality HMDI. No other types of connection. If I used something lower then the quality would be lost. I also don't have a secondary 4K display to do that guys trick. When I use a 1080 secondary display, things wont work. Once again, it is only this game. everything else works just fine on my PC with 4K.
  8. Google search presented PLENTY of people playing the game in 4K. Either help answer the question, or move on. Your reply is pointless. Do NOT turn this thread into argument nonsense. Stay on task or move on. Thanx.
  9. I have recently hooked my PC up to my 4K Samsung TV. I finally got around to re-installing SWTOR. Upon loading up the game I set the graphics to 3840 x 2160, as my desktop is set. Then, when it set, my character looked slightly "skinny" or stretched thin. I selected my main character and loaded up the game hoping it would change or update. Nope. Still looks slightly skinny as it did in the main screen. I have messed with .ini file and doesn't help. I loaded up Guild Wars 2, and everything was fine in 4k 3840 x 2160. No skinny or stretched. So, it is just SWTOR. I have Win 7 with a GeForce GTX 960. Any ideas? here is my game settings: [Renderer] AllowColorRemapping = false AntiAliasingLevel = 4 AtlasQuality = 0 Buckets = 4 D3DFullScreen = true GraphicsDeviceId = 5121 GraphicsQuality = 6 Height = 2160 MeshLODQuality = 1 NativeHeight = 1080 NativeWidth = 1920 PerfTestFlags = 38780672 RefreshRate = 60 ShadowMapNumCascades = 8 ShadowMapResolution = 1152 SpeedTreeDistanceScale = 1.25 TextureAnisotropy = 16 Width = 3840 VerticalSyncState = true WindowX = 0 WindowY = 0 CodeVersionChanged = false LastCodeVersionRun = 1 NewBucket = 4 DYDDrawDistancePreset = 3 ShaderSet = 9 TextureQuality = 0 AllowDepthOfField = true doBlobShadows = true doShadows = true EnableBloom = true PlantDensity = 100 FullScreen = true
  10. Clearly you haven't read the mile long list of things you need to do to gain all the titles/achivements/rewards. You essentially have to do every single thing in the game, everything, on THAT NEW character only. There is no way in heck I am going to create a new toon and spend 40+ hours on it earning all the new crap I HAVE ALREADY DONE on my other toons many times over.
  11. This is ridiculous. I already have 12 lvl 65 toons. What on earth would I want to do ALL that over again, essentially everything I have ever done 12 + times....and do it again....ALL of it. Every FP, WZ, OPs that I have already done 100's of times and every Mission, Quest, etc....everything...all AGAIN. Honestly this has got to be the STUPIDEST event I have ever seen in an MMO. It is essentially just "create a new toon and do every singe thing there is to do in the game on that toon only". BORING!! This kind of crap is part of why I pretty much quit playing this game anymore. I used to be a daily player, but now I go through weeks without even logging in since 4.0. It's just not worth it anymore, and stiff like this just feels like a slap in the face. Essentially, all that hard work I put into the game the past 4+ years is worthless in this event. This event IS NOT EVEN FUN...and FUN is what events and games are supposed to be correct? Or am I just alone on that now days? Let us take one toon of each side that we have already leveled and unlock the rewards for the event on them, then whatever that toon is missing objectives on to gain the reward, then that toon still has to do them. But, seriously, I am not about to spend 40+ hours grinding on a new toon for an "event" when I should be able to do stuff on the toons I already have and have WORKED HARD to get piles of stuff and achievements on.
  12. I personally prefer the single player story driven content in KOTFE.
  13. And....why are there still not anymore Legacy weapons in the game? It is obvious you can change a weapon with this 4.4 patch, so why can we NOT change weapons to be LEGACY BOUND!!!!???? This is something I have wanted for YEARS now, and honestly part of why I quit playing the game as much as I used to. I used to play nearly 40hrs a week at one point, now I log in like once every month. I haven't even done a raid or anything since December. Heck, I haven't even finished the new chapter based storyline on any toon, only started these new "chapters" on one toon. Too many things that were just done wrong or not done at all, and this is one of them. It really ticks me off that I am stuck with the same few weapons across many toon's because of it. ALL these cartel weapons and I can't use any of them once my toon hits max level. There are quite a few Cartel weapons I would like to wear on my max level toon's, but not going to happen because I already have legacy weapons with all the stuff each class needs in them all. We can customize our dye and appearance and use those with no hindrance across legacy with legacy gear, but not our weapons? Why? I have been waiting for a reply on this issue for years and never got one back. This is just proof that it is possible so it's time to add it too the game already.
  14. Another person clearly not reading what I said.... Go back and read my last post. I clearly said text would suffice since screenshots aren't necessary and that it doesn't take piles of screen shots to post a persons gear. Only a few. I fail to see why it is so hard to post " You need these two implants and this earpiece to get the desired number if you have these mods, enhancements, and augments to go with it". Simple. Instead of people saying there are 1000 ways to get the number, JUST MAKE ONE as a TEMPLATE and make it EASIER for everyone. But, again, trying to make something simple seems to be too much to ask and all the feedback I receive from my personal frustration just puts words in my mouth that I never said anyway. It is easier to insult me and call me a "troll" from behind a keyboard than try something new and actually simplify gearing for people. So, I give up. Tell you what, when (someday) I reach the near optimal stats on my main mirror classes I WILL POST the exact set up I had to obtain it to HELP OTHERS and make it easier for them since no one here seems to want to. I love how every single time someone said says something different than what everyone else says it is automatically "trolling". Just proof that humans don't like differences and why our society is so screwed up now because of it.
  15. A) I never said I was entitled to anything. Yet ANOTHER person putting words in my mouth. But, I pay to play this game and cane come on these forums if I please. I posted a frustration of mine, nothing more. That is all. You, and other people, are taking it way off into left field. You also clearly did not read that I said I appreciated what the OP did. B) I read everything he posted, nothing lazy about anything I said. C) You still have not indicated which implant or ear piece to get on any class, hence my initial comment. No one has....and until someone does my initial comment stands. D) I am well aware of the enhancements and mod numbers being posted, I never said anything about that. No it doesn't matter which slot they are in, but if someone already has a toon set up then why not post it for everyone to make it easier? Simple. E) It doesn't take piles of screen shots to post the exact gear a toon is wearing. There is NO NEED to have millions of combinations if the person who reached the desired (or near desired) stats posted exactly what he was wearing, then we could just all copy that and use it as a template. Simple. End. Don't even need screenshots, text would work just fine. You can't tell me that a few people out there haven't reached the near optimal stats posted in the OP for us to see the exact ear and implant he used to obtain them in his gear set up. Simple. End of issue.
  16. I have the "nerve" to mention a frustration of mine because people (an everyone who always posts "stats") obviously already had the characters set up with ear and implants to obtain the number's they came up with in the first place. Correct? Yes, it is a frustration to know the person already had everything set up but wont post it, hence why I mentioned it. Instead we get a bunch of numbers, which is appreciated that even that was obtained. But, I guess people shouldn't mention things according to you. No, everyone should just shut up heh? I never "cryed", but people like you think everything is "crying" on the internet. Everything turns into and argument and insult fest with people like you, when you weren't even involved in it in the first place. Clearly you didn't read my comment properly in the first place or you would have clearly seen I was simple posting a frustration, not "crying". Sorry, but that doesn't help me much. I APPRECIATE the time spent to find the optimal stats (contrary to what other trolls think). But, I fail to see why people don't post the exact set up they had to obtain those stats. Everything that toon was wearing at the time. Instead of "multiple ways", which is fine if that is what some people want, we could just have one to see and work towards. "This character temple is what you should work towards". Simple. Instead of spending weeks moving stuff around and getting different things like it takes now, I could just look at that persons exact set-up and get all that and be done. We would know the exact earpiece, implants, enhancement, mod, etc to get and which piece of gear it goes in, etc. Done. Problem solved. I don't currently have the TIME to set for weeks piddling around to figure out the exact set-up, looking at an exact template would save me and many people a lot of time. My game time has been cut WAY down because of my new job, so it would be very helpful to have what I have suggested, hence why It was mentioned. I have many drops saved up, but honestly don't want to use them if I am getting the wrong earpiece or implant I need on that toons to work towards the good stats. I have zero interest in having to get an earpiece or implant again because I chose the wrong one the first time. Back when I had more time to play, I didn't mind as much, but that is not the case anymore.
  17. I have never understood why people post the numbers when you could just tell us exactly what ear piece, implants, and images of each gear piece to get in order to GET those numbers. There is ZERO indication of what earpiece and implants to get anywhere in your info. It is simple to just screen shot the exact gear set-up to get the numbers so we can just get that and be done. Not set filddling with stuff for days to get the desired number. Please. Give us a link to screenshots of the EXACT gear that toon is wearing and also tells us which Earpiece and Implants to get for each class/set-up. You would save everyone a lot of hassle. It is very frustrating to know this could all be so simple with a few screenshots.
  18. Would be great to get some kind of reply on this.....
  19. I called it, days ago when this "great" announcement was online Lackluster reskin of something we already have. I said those EXACT words of what I bet the "reward" would be.
  20. My ambient sound is now all the way up. I still hear nothing, and that is with turning up my PC way loud. Bioware, please up the volume on these. This thread is proof this is not a singular problem and others are experiencing it as well.
  21. Anyone else hear NOTHING when they active it? I turned my PC up all the way, and nothing. Tried it many times. Logged in an out as well. Nothing. If there is any whispers, they are pretty freakin quiet.
  22. No, you don't have to do MP if you want a "challenge", but this is an MMO, not a Single Player game like Assassins Creed. Don't force everyone else to play as you play. If all you care about is a challenge in everything then you completely miss the point of playing a video game. Escape, relax, story, and fun. Not making everything you do a "challenge". HM and NiM modes are there if you want a challenge so bad. Dismiss your companion, remove some gear, etc. That will give you a challenge. It's a GAME, not a ego contest. Only a minority of this game want such a challenge. Furthermore, it defeats the entire purpose of maxing companion affection if you can't be OP while doing personal content. That is your REWARD for all your hard work. A reward many of us enjoy and want. If you don't want it, then don't get any affection. Grouping doesn't make content easy, in fact, it can bring a pile of headaches.
  23. Thank You times 100!!! Now I actually want to log back in again. The nerf just made my desire to play this game go away. Some of us earned maxing our companions out to be able to face roll things if we want. Not everything in gaming needs to be a "challenge" Life has enough of that. HM and NiM is where the "challenge" belongs.
  24. Not that any dev's will read this now, but... My enjoyment of this game has essentially died since Level Synch, and now with the companion nerf pretty much killed it for me. Since 4.0 hit all I have done are the daily GF Ops, that's it. I play the game about 25% of the amount I used to play it before 4.0 hit. I have ZERO desire to do the things I used to do because of all the nerfs. They just aren't fun anymore. I used to look forward to logging in the game, now I honestly don't. I haven't logged in in a few days now. And that NEVER happened pre-4.0. I used to play at least 12 hrs a week minimum. Now? Maybe 4. Why? Because a certain group of people continually enforce their elitist "challenge" filled style of play on the rest of us, and Bioware caters to them endlessly. I am going to say, I am absolutely SICK of it. Completely fed up with that. In ALL games. People somewhere along the way forgot games are about fun, not a fake childish ego boost and boasting match. Is everyday life not enough of a challenge? Or, do you just set and play games all day, and that's why you need the "challenge"? Seriously. My daily life is challenging and stress enough. I log in video games to relax, escape, and just enjoy myself. Not be "challenged" yet again after getting home from working 8 hrs. Sure, I enjoy the HM and NiM Op sometimes, but when I log in I want to ENJOY using the high end raid gear I EARNED, not be forced to "level synch". I want to enjoy using my companions who should be a little OP. Why? Because of all the time I put into maxing every single one of them (all classes, both Imp and Rep). I put a lot of time into that, and now that has essentially been wiped away; which just flat out ruins my desire to do anything with them anymore. Yes, some of us enjoy just wiping the floor with things and having things be fairly "easy". But, with 4.0 all those things are essentially gone. And with the "nerfs" so is my desire nerfed to play this game much anymore. I have loved and played this game for most all of it's release. It has had it's ups and downs and good and bads but for the most part I have enjoyed it. Not much anymore because of the things I have mentioned. No, I am not a casual. I have 12 lvl 65's and 22 toons. All of those lvl 65's were in high end raid gear pre-4.0 (198 and 192 with full set-pieces min maxed). I just don't have the desire to do that work now with all the changes. Because, what is the point in being in 220 gear now if you just get level synced as well as companions being wimps of what they used to be? Not much point. Bioware. I would suggest you add two modes of play that a person can choose upon log in themselves while in Solo Mode (not grouped). Normal, or Hard (other MMO's actually have this). One would let our companions be what they were before the nerf, and the HM would make them be as they are now. Not have it forced on us with level synch and companion nerfs. Not have our companions be wimps even thought we WORKED HARD to get them all maxed so we could ENJOY them being powerhouses. I REALLY feel like I wasted all my countless hours on my companions now. Utterly pointless. Why not let the people who EARNED companions being maxed out enjoy having them being a little OP if they choose? Why? How does that even affect anyone else but the person who did it? It doesn't. But, thanx to the "challenge" filled elitists we all must now suffer. I will wait a bit and see if companions get some of their power back, because it was EARNED. If not, I really wont be playing much ever again. And that is honestly sad to me.
  25. I find it interesting that one of the main features in 4.0 wasn't working day one, put back in to still be glitched, and now taken out again. It seems that 4.0 is more buggy than any other expansion, but it honestly did change a lot to the game. So, I wont do ANY of the new story yet until companions are 100% fixed, and they aren't yet. So, until then I am just doing the daily Ops GF raids and getting gear.
