  1. I was in an 8v8 TDM match today, and we got hammered like 50-15. We had what I assume were 3 newbies who had zero kills and a few assists each, but judging by their stats were at least somewhat trying to fight. And three afk/suiciders who had zeros across the board (except deaths of course). Myself and one other person had all the kills. I'm a mediocre GSF pilot at best, but even if I was godlike I can't imagine being able to cover for 3 suiciders.
  2. So with all the nonsense going on with afk or low-effort [Weekly] farming, here's some positivity (kinda ). I joined a TDM match and started with my half-upgraded Flashfire. I'm a pretty mediocre player, but I think I've been getting better. Anyway, within probably less than a minute we were up 12-0. I'd get on someone's tail and maybe get off one missile before they just melted. Often I'd be locking on and my target would be turned to dust before I got an attack off. The match ended 50-2 with about ~5 mins left. One of those 2 was a self-destruct by me when I power-dove into the environment. I finished with 0 kills, 4 assists, 1 death and 1 medal. I didn't think to look at everyone's ships at the time, but I was thinking that maybe there was a coordinated Gunship group? At the very least, most of my team had to have been in comms together, right? The sheer level of destruction was really amazing. The downside to this display is that it's likely kinda demoralizing to be on the receiving end of something like that.
  3. I'd like to see this as well. Specifically, the Akk Dog. The Mace Windu novel Shatterpoint set on Haruun Kal establishes that Akk Dogs are also mounts.
  4. The second one with the capsule-style pods is Resurrected Underworld Knight, or the old Underworld/Verpine JK sets. I've never noticed the one you're looking for, but I checked my Synth/Armormech crafters and couldn't find anything like it. Maybe it only exists as a 270/276 drop?
  5. Just did this mission 3 days ago. No bugs. Maybe some people who can't complete it could outline EXACTLY what they're doing, and where things go wrong? And here's the link to the Vulkk guide a few others have mentioned.
  6. Pretty sure you can delete a token character and it frees up the token so long as you haven't levelled yet. Which also frees up the name. Two birds with one stone, so long as nobody snags the name in the meantime.
  7. Someone can correct me if I'm mis-remembering, since my recollection is a bit fuzzy. In 1.0 vanilla swtor, there was a credit sink. The Korrealis mounts that dropped in the command crates (Baron, Commander, Prince, Sovereign) were sold on the fleet (2 per faction I think?) for what was - at the time - ridiculous amounts of credits. 1mil each I think, although it could have been higher, I can't remember. The result? There was so much whining that BW removed the vendor. Most of the complaining was about exclusive content for the wealthy, though once BW allowed mounts on the fleet (originally you had to run everywhere), there were also people using them to troll by parking their giant speeders over mailboxes or blocking the GTN terminals. So that was also a complaint. So to play devil's advocate, here's an example. Say they introduce another mount vendor on each fleet. Four amazing unique mounts per faction, all with a cool flourish. And they also have a perk that no other mounts have - your active companion visibly rides on the mount with you. The mounts are BoP and can't be unlocked in collections, so you have to purchase them on a per-character basis, and they're 500+mil each. Or let's get serious and say they're a billion each. So all the crazy-wealthy are queuing up for the exclusive mounts, and obscene amounts of credits are disappearing from the game. Mission accomplished, right? But how long before the forums and subreddit are full of posts crying about how this cool new feature is exclusive to the hardcore wealthy or people who buy credits with cash? I can almost guarantee that it would happen.
  8. That happens whenever there's a patch or maintenance when you sell something that was put up prior to the server downtime. Pretty sure it's always been that way.
  9. If that's the case, there should be some reasoning behind which characters get them. From what I can tell, it seems to be random.
  10. I think that might be a coincidence. All of my characters were in full 306.
  11. Quick question about these loot containers. On a few characters, I had a full set of both appear in my inventory when I first logged in. On other toons, nothing. Is there a reason for this? By design, or bug?
  12. If it's based on anything, it's the Krayt Dragon pearl quest in Knights of the Old Republic, not swtor. IIRC, in that quest you had to lure some banthas near the cave for bait, and an easy strat was to mine the area like crazy prior to triggering the spawn. Also, I think the star map for the main quest was in the back of the dragon's cave, and when you came out afterwards the Calo Nord fight happened. I think so anyway, I may be misremembering.
  13. So is it the same sound effect as the legendary Ossus pistol? I kinda liked the look of those, then I equipped one and tested it out.
  14. Here's an idea. This would seem like a perfect opportunity to update the matrix shards. Add a new recipe for a 306 relic with the rakghoul vaccine as an activation ability. Updating something that hasn't been touched since launch seems like it'd be a win to me.
  15. The only way I've found to make them work is to deactivate the SH and reactivate. After that, the first arrival point you choose will apply to all characters in your legacy. Forever, apparently. They really need to put a few people on bug fixing.
  16. I'm pretty sure that creature mounts have had zero protection from the beginning. But yeah, they seem to be more fragile than a vendor credit vehicle like the Aratech Dagger or whatever, though the chance to get KO'ed should be the same.
  17. I've noticed that I regularly get knocked from my mount by white (standard) mobs recently. Have they removed the knocked-off protection from cartel mounts, or is it my imagination? I suppose that it could be another consequence of the level-scaling fiasco. I've also noticed that my Shadow gets caught in stealth during FP's much more than she used to, despite being spec'ed into Misdirection which increases stealth level by 10. It's possible they use a similar hidden mechanic to increase your effective level. Just a wild guess. So...it's not just me, right?
  18. Bit of a necro there guys/girls. Anyway, it sounds like the OP was trying to heal both him/herself and Temple during the fight while in Lightning (dps) spec rather than dps'ing like they should have been. Interestingly, even after ~50+ attempts there was no lesson learned. Yeah, Lightning Sorcerer/TK Sage is on the weak side, but it's dps not heals. If you're trying to heal yourself and your comp with your pathetic untrained heals, it's a learn-to-play problem. A crappy white medpack does a better job at healing, not to mention that there are several healing stations around the boss for emergency top-ups. With a L30 Temple set to heals and using your bubble on the mortar volley (and staying out of yellow stupid), there's no reason you shouldn't be able to face-tank that boss.
  19. Running my Juggernaut through Fractured Alliances after doing Iokath and levelling to 71. I've done Umbara and Copero FP's and all bosses in both have only dropped crafting mats, decos, and the Chiss armor (in the Chiss FP). No gear whatsoever. Since hitting L71, my ILevel is 268, so I should be getting *something*. Previously, I had gotten the Ossus armor (either purple or gold) when in old gear and then 272 (iirc) when I hit 71 and put on the 268 gear. What gives?
  20. Assuming your accuracy is at 1591 (or 1327 if using acc stims), and your alacrity is above ~1220-ish, crit is really the only way to go. Mastery and power are level capped in 95% of the game content, and you get a load of those stats already from the new augs (which will be mostly useless anywhere other than the new Op and FP).
  21. (I posted this on the swtor subreddit, and got basically no sensible replies other than a few informing me how movement works in Ops (eyeroll), so I thought I'd repost here.) Just wondering if anyone has done (or seen) any in-game Boss parses comparing Established Foothold vs Precise Targeter's. EF seems to be the generally agreed-upon BiS, but if it's based solely on dummy parses, I'm thinking it might not be as ideal as it seems. As anyone who's ever done even SM Ops knows, there's often a lot of movement required - which would cause you to instantly drop the Entrenched Offense stacks. And if you're unable to use Entrench/Hunker Down on CD (or have to move and cut it short), the effectiveness of the set bonus would suffer. Obviously any in-game parses usually will not get the same results as a parse done on a dummy. But it seems to me that the EF set bonus might be even more crippled (depending on the boss of course). Thanks in advance for any replies.
  22. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that in the vanilla game weak and standard enemies do not have stuns, knockbacks or pulls. It's only strong (silver) and up, and there aren't even a whole lot of silvers with those abilities. I *think* it was KotFE where that went out the window, and you can see it again on Onderon and Mek-sha. The quest that sticks out is that Republic criminal daily in Iziz where the Thugs (iirc) are standards with an annoying melee-range stun. I can't recall ever being stun-locked in either chapters or planetary missions, but there's no doubt it's annoying to be stunned by an enemy who would otherwise go down in 2 hits.
  23. Just bought the Yavin Stronghold, and all characters spawn at the landing pad no matter how many times I set them them to the bridge. That dev post acknowledging the bug was months ago. Lame.
  24. Those are two things I can definitely get behind. Someone who exclusively plays one character should not be at a disadvantage. As far as the purple conquest mats go, I think a cool potential use for them (outside of guild ship/conquest related stuff) would be for crafter exclusives. What I mean by this is speeders (cybertech), sabers (Artifice), guns (armstech), and armor (synth and armormech) that cost a lot of mats to make, are BoP, and have sexy (CM quality) skins. Maybe there could also be Legacy-bound versions that cost a boatload of mats. Not sure what I'd do with Bio, since they already have the permanent cons. Companion customizations and perhaps regen items maybe? Regardless, I agree that they shouldn't be required for basic crafting. At least until you get to BiS gear.
  25. So, for the people complaining that conquest is now too difficult, I have a question. Do you think that the old conquest point system where crafters were capping 10-15-20 toons immediately at reset simply by having the crafts queued up beforehand was a better system? Because personally, it always seemed fairly preposterous to me that people were capping conquest without ever leaving their SH. Also, the amount of hyperbole in this thread has gotten out of hand. The current system is not nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be. I'm in a dead guild with no flagship bonuses (Imp and Pub both, like level 3) and I've had 3-5 characters cap every week since 6.0 dropped without even really trying. Just by playing. And no, I'm not one of those hardcores who's been spamming HM FP's constantly. I've done maybe 3 MM FP's since 6.0 hit, and haven't done a single Op. It's time to get a grip people.
