  1. Hey folks! This is a bug and will be fixed in a future patch. Thank you for the report!
  2. Hey folks! We are seeing reports from players who are confused with how the Galactic Seasons 6 currency functions. This was not originally included in the GS6 article, but the two intended changes below will be reflected there and in the patch notes as well. Reputation Track Galactic Seasons 6 does not have a Reputation track like previous seasons. There is still an item to collect the same way you collected Reputation currency in the past. However, it is for Achievement tracking only and progress is granted when you collect it - you're safe to sell them for credits! It’s worth noting that these will cease to drop when you’ve unlocked the achievement. Reputation Conquest Objective The amount of Conquest points earned for the Reputation Conquest Objective was reduced. This particular objective was over-represented in objectives completed and needed to be balanced. We've added new objectives to help offset the loss that encourage you to play Galactic Seasons in the same manner that the Reputation one did but lowered the effect that the Reputation objective gave in its place. These changes will be reflected in future Seasons as well, however, we know they can have an outsized effect on smaller guilds and will be keeping a close eye on the data over time and make adjustments as needed.
  3. Hello folks! Just wanted to pop in real quick and give you some more info about these since we haven’t released all of the details. What are these exactly? So these Armors and Weapons are new versions of existing ones that had randomized stats and that there was no other way to acquire their appearance in the game aside from existing world drops. These were no longer available to trade on the Galactic Trade Network due to the backend changes, but there are others that may not have been tradeable at all. There are a lot of them! Hundreds of weapons and over 2000 armor pieces. The sheer amount is why we didn’t post a detailed list. Ancient Armaments Login Reward Calendar This reward calendar will operate very similar to our 3 existing reward calendars, complete with Achievements and various items available on the track. This has been added to the rotation of login calendars so it might not show up right away. The big change to this one is it will include a chance to get some of these new versions of previous appearances. There will be a Weapons Pack and an Armors Pack on the calendar, the weapon pack will give you a Fitted Weapon from the list of new Weapons. The Armor Pack will give you one complete set of one of these armor sets. The packs will be legacy bound but the contents will be Bind on Equip! World Drops Many of these have been difficult to acquire due to requiring specific levels or planets or various other rules. These new ones can drop in any world drop. World drops will be single pieces of armor or a weapon. You can still get the normal randomized stat world drops, these drop in addition to them! However, because we’re adding all of these new items to the normal drop pool, they have no vendor value, so if you want credits for them you’ll need to do some trading. If you don’t want to bother with all of that, you can always destroy them (though they will not disassemble). Rarity In both cases of the packs as well as the world drops higher quality items will be rarer. Premium is the most common, followed by Prototype, and then Artifact. Because they can drop at any level they should appear a bit more frequently than many of our other armor world drops. Collections These items will not be in collections. They will however be Bind on Equip! This means they can be traded or sold on the GTN. A big part of why I wanted to get these into the game was to make up for the random stat appearance items no longer being tradeable on the GTN due to our backend changes. I hope that answers many of your questions but if you have anything that I wasn’t able to answer with regards to these new items feel free to ask! May the Force Serve You
  4. Hello folks! 7.4 is fast approaching and I wanted to touch on some changes we’ve made in the interim between PTS and what you can expect on December 5th. Seller Input Instead of putting in the unit price and having the game calculate for you the buyer’s price, which was an adjustment from the way it currently works in the live game, we’ve changed it back to letting the seller enter the buyer’s price. This is closer to how it works in live currently and should ideally make it easier for sellers to input a price that is competitive with other listings. We still show you the unit price you will receive as the seller and calculate the total expected profit, taking into account any fees. The Buyout Limit is still equal to the new 3B Seller’s Unit Price + Buyer’s Fee. (Total Limit = 3,447,780,000) Claim slots We’ve increased the base claim slots for Subscribers to 20 You can still only add additional slots up to 50 at this time, but we may re-evaluate this in the future. We’ve adjusted many UI interactions and messaging. My favorites are clicking on the entire row will bring up the item details page in search and clicking claim will take you to the relevant claim page depending on where you are when you click it! Another one I want to call out is we no longer allow listings that result in negative profit. This means you’ll need to set your prices to at least enough to cover the listing fee in order to list the item. It’s important to note we will be making further changes in upcoming patches, so keep giving feedback! We’ve got things in the pipeline based on your feedback that I will be excited to share in the future. Additionally, when we go live, existing auctions will expire. During maintenance, your items will be sent back to your in-game inboxes and can be relisted when the servers come back up.
  5. Our data shows these items do not sell on the GTN very often, however we immediately realized the problem to solve here was not about access to the gear, but about access to the appearances. They will still be tradable and available outside of the GTN the way they currently are and we want to give additional avenues to get them. Although that won't happen in 7.4, we are already looking at how we can start getting players access to those appearances in-game. Hopefully as soon as our next patch (7.4.1) but we'll let you know once we have details.
  6. Hello folks! Thank you so much for all the feedback, especially from those of you that have hopped on PTS and given it a fair shake! I wanted to take a moment to answer some of your questions. Yes, these are the type of items that currently are incompatible with the new GTN due to the way the random elements of the items work. The system currently would make those pieces become unidentified and the item the buyer would receive would not necessarily be the item you listed. It's important to note that these are medians, meaning if the price has historically been higher and is now trending downwards there will be a bit of lag between the median price and the currently listed price (also listed prices don’t affect the median only successful sales). However you will see more information in the new Market Data section detailing both the median, as well as highs and lows (of successful sales) to give you a better idea, you will also see what folks are currently listing at. Not currently planned, due to the way trade works with both parties being taxed the effective rate is 16% which is still slightly higher than the maximum effective tax rate on the GTN. The goal is to drive transactions between players through the GTN to ensure players get the best prices and to mitigate fraud. Of course! So in a progressive system, you are only charged a specific % on the credits that fall within that range. Meaning you only pay 6% on the first million credits, even if the listing in question is 1 Billion. This means that while the marginal rate increases as the list price increases, the effective rate does not match the marginal rate outside of the first bracket. Think of “effective” as the true percent being paid on a listing at that specific price, whereas marginal is the amount charged to a specific “margin” or bracket. The seller will see what the total price including the fee is, the buyer will have the fee included into their purchase price so it is not listed separately. Ultimately, how many credits the seller will receive shouldn’t be of any concern to the buyer. Removing seller names actually makes it a lot harder for bad actors to do things they like to do with our GTN. We’ve also greatly improved our systems for monitoring activity, so when someone starts doing something suspicious we’ll know. Part of why this is a little vague is because it might not be exactly the same for each item depending on volume. For items that do trade fairly often, Recent should be a week (give or take depending on if we’ve done any new patches in the period since). Historic would be all data we’ve collected up to a certain point (we began taking snapshots in 7.2.1). Some items may have no data as they haven’t been sold in the timeframe, some items may have only one or the other depending on volume. Low volume items may have skewed data because we only take snapshots when sales occur. Red means it is in the top 3rd of its range, blue means it's in the middle 3rd, and green means it's in the bottom 3rd. It's meant to be a visual indicator of where the price is compared to its highs and lows. The current implementation will only show items that have listings but when we do Buy Orders our intention is that you will be able to find items that are not listed. You will still have those favorites but will lose them when you unset them. It works a bit like a soft cap, you won’t lose it but you won’t be able to add any others, and if you remove the ones you have they will be gone. If you re-sub you’ll keep the ones you have and be able to change them again freely. A Change Something else I wanted to touch on, while items cannot sit in the claim page for eternity, we have been able to extend it. So instead of expiring after 30 days they will now expire after 60. I'll update the main post to reflect this. We’ve also added some warning states that will let you know a week ahead of time if you happen to look at the Claim Page. A big shout out to those that have found bugs, especially with regards to missing QoL we’ve had previously! We’re working to incorporate things like Shift+Click back in. We’ll be continuing to improve this system up to release and will have further improvements in the future! Keep the feedback coming and let me know if you have further questions.
  7. Hello there! With the Public Test Server live I wanted to take a moment to dive into what’s changed, what the plan is moving forward, and how you fit into it all. TLDR: We want your feedback and need your help to improve this feature further. There’s a lot of things that have changed in the backend that will be hard to see at first, but I hope you’ll agree that the new system is better overall for both the current Galactic Trade Network and the future! The version of the GTN that is available on the PTS is in many ways still work in progress, you might find bugs or issues with it as well as find some features you preferred have changed or been removed. We wanted to get this into your hands as soon as we possibly could to ensure that we get your feedback while still having the time necessary to act on that feedback. Feel free to report issues or bugs, share feedback, and I assure you that we will do our best to address them. What hasn’t changed The GTN is still a place where you can put an item up for sale and get credits in exchange. The search functions that existed prior to the revamp also have been maintained with some slight adjustments. We haven’t updated auction categories yet. Reason being how these are set up on items. If you’ve got feedback about categories though please let us know! What has changed Searching Search now returns a list of items with all available items per type collapsed down into a single listing. Each of these listings shows the item, the quantity available on the market, and the lowest available price. Clicking on the item/credit button will now open a new window showing each available listing of that item. Buying Seller’s names are now obfuscated from the sale. This is largely due to the amount of information in the new listing page. You will see many listings at the various prices here. There’s a limit though if the item is listed at many different price points you will only see the first 20. You’ll always get the best available listing when you click purchase. Sometimes while you're placing an order, new items might be posted for sale or items you're considering might be purchased. When this happens, you will get as much of the sale as possible at whatever the best price is for that sale. If there’s not enough items to cover the sale, you will be refunded the difference. If you overpay due to a new lower price, you will be refunded. Claiming Claiming now has its own window within the Galactic Trade Network! Mail is only used in cases of alerts about sales or expirations. Opening the claim page you will see a list of claimable sales and purchases. You have a limit on purchases of 10 Buy Slots. Buy slots can be increased as necessary up to a maximum of 50. Sale Slots are the same as our current slots. These can be increased to 100. Slots become used when you create a listing or make a purchase. Slots become available again after you claim all of the associated credits and items within that slot. There is still a 60 day time limit to claim the item, make sure you claim your items! Selling Fees: A buyer’s fee is added to the purchase price. This means the amount you put into the unit price is the amount you will receive. The buyer’s fee is dependent on the unit price and is progressive starting at 6% (lower than current) but scaling up from there. Below is a chart that lays out the rates: Minimum Price Marginal Rate Cumulative Fee Effective Rate 0 6% 0 6% 1,000,000 8% 60,000 6% 10,000,000 10% 780,000 7.80% 100,000,000 12% 9,780,000 9.78% 500,000,000 14% 57,780,000 11.56% 1,000,000,000 16% 127,780,000 12.78% 3,000,000,000 16% 447,780,000 14.93% Deposits have been adjusted to be fees. This is to encourage folks to list their items at prices that are more likely to move. Below is a chart that shows the minimum and maximum fee depending on the Buyout Price and the Duration. Duration Fee Percent Minimum Fee Maximum Fee 12 Hours 0.01% 100 10,000 1 Day 0.025% 125 25,000 2 Days 0.05% 250 50,000 3 Days 0.1% 500 100,000 7 Days 0.25% 1000 250,000 As you can see, we’ve also increased the minimum duration from 6 hours to 12 hours, and the maximum duration is now 7 days up from 3 days. This is to make it more likely for listings to sell and to reduce relisting. Under this model the fees max out at 100 Million. Due to the minimum fee, listings under that value can end up being not profitable. We warn you when you create a listing like this with a confirmation as well as highlighting the total profit in red if it is negative. New Features: Favorites Favorites is a Subscriber feature. You can now mark an item as a Favorite! Click the `star` to set this. There is a limit of 5 Favorites. Clicking on the Quick Search button for Favorites will quickly show only these items you’ve selected. Newly Listed You can see up to 30 of the most recently listed items with this search. It’s not real time, but should update when you perform the search. Popular This is based on recent sales volume. Up to 30 of the most purchased items. Cartel Rarity Filter You can now filter based on the Cartel Rarity of an item: Bronze Silver Gold Platinum Having this set will filter out any non-Cartel items and show only items of the selected Rarity. Market Data We have some more information coming to the purchase page that shows the current median value and its recent high/low values as well as a more historical version of that value. Recent looks at a smaller subset of time to give you an idea of the trend. Historical is a larger time frame but is not lifetime. We plan on expanding on this section in the future, details to come when we have them. Additional Changes: Due to some backend changes we no longer support items with random stat allocations on the Galactic Trade Network. These are primarily world drops from leveling up to 70. These will continue to be tradable and marketable versions of their appearances will eventually be made available in game wherever they are not currently. Similarly in the case of Crafted Augmented Gear, we will still allow the gear to be sold but the Augmentation Slot will be removed. We will warn you in this case before you list the item We removed the Usable By for Companions filter. Ultimately this filter was not used often and due to the sheer amount of potential companions and changes in companion equipment since launch. We did maintain the “Usable By Me '' functionality, though it's still limited in the same way it was prior to the revamp to showing items that can be equipped as opposed to actually "usable". Trading Fees: We previously stated that we planned on keeping the trade fees tied to the highest marginal rate on the Galactic Trade Network. Due to the nature of these fees applying in both directions, the effective rate is actually double (16% as 8% is assessed twice). To keep the trade fees a bit better aligned with the GTN, we will not be increasing the rate at this time as a 16% effective rate is still higher than the new top effective rate of 14.93%. We will be monitoring both Galactic Trade Network use as well as Trading and may make further adjustments where necessary. It’s worth noting that this is a multi-phase release, meaning there will be continued improvements based on your feedback, our data, and some plans are still in motion. Buy orders are on the top of our list, but there’s other smaller improvements that are still in the pipeline based on previous feedback. So, with that in mind - please continue to give us feedback on this new system. Jump on PTS and hammer away at it! We’ve added some initial listings to flesh out the market and added vendors with sellable items for you to list. Some general questions to answer in your feedback: Is there any functionality of the existing system that you don’t see in the new system that you would prefer we preserve? What do you like about the new system? What do you dislike? Are there any specific filters, searches, or ways of finding items that you wish existed? Do you have any concerns with how the new system feels to use? PTS Specific Testing If you use the Level Boost NPC in Kessan’s Landing you’ll also receive a handful of Marketable crafted equipment, some materials, and crystals. Feel free to put these on the GTN to go through the selling flow, and when looking to buy you’ll likely be able to find these items available from others who have gone through the selling flow to test the buying flow. You can use any Marketable items for testing but we wanted to give a select amount of them so that folks have a particular set to work from with new characters.
  8. PVP Season 3 ends at the normal reset time on the 10th! Folks can always see this information in game under the PVP Season tab name (as you noticed) and we have a separate events tracker here on the site at https://forums.swtor.com/events/ that we update regularly.
  9. Hello! I wanted to touch base on how drops for these types of seasonal reputation currency items work in our game currently. Since Season 2 each season has had one of these, and we did change some things in Season 3 to allow past season currencies to be gathered after the season is completed. If the season is active, group content such as Flashpoints and Operations drop the associated currency as long as you haven’t maxed out the reputation. However, after the season is no longer active, the currency stops being dropped in that content. You can still get currency for that season by having the associated companion with you and not being maxed on the reputation when killing enemies on planets and daily areas. For Galactic Seasons 5, which does not have a companion, you will still be able to drop the currency after the season in planets and daily areas if you have no companion out and are not maxed on the reputation track. For the remaining duration of season 5 the new Dark Spores currency will drop in group content.
  10. Hello again everyone! First off, I want to thank everyone who participated in our last thread! We still have much to iterate on and your feedback has been invaluable. Furthermore, it’s with great pleasure to report that our economy is healing. I know it's a bit of a bumpy road to get there, but if we keep driving down it we’ll have a much more sustainable economy and a more approachable game. Some of our previously announced changes are still coming in a later patch, but we are making some additional changes in this update that we previously touched on. When 7.3.1 is live you will see the following: Quick Travel costs will now take into account your player level. This is largely to help players at lower levels. The maximum cost matches our current maximum around level 35. The minimum cost matches our current minimum around level 17. The cost per distance matches our current cost at level 80. Trade and Mail fees are now driven off of the Galactic Trade Network Median Sales Data This means that these will be based on the server and the specific sales on that server, this data already exists within the game so it's not a clean slate. Select items have their fees removed (the previously changed consumable gameplay items and a list of over 3000 lower value items that were traded regularly on the GTN since 7.3). We may make continued adjustments here in the future. Items that have not been traded on the GTN may not have a fee until they have been traded for some time. This enables the game to determine the appropriate fee value. The Galactic Trade Network Buyout Price Limit has been increased from 1,000,000,000 to 3,000,000,000. This is to allow trade of higher value items. Additional changes to the GTN will come in future patches. As always, I look forward to your feedback and the data from these changes. We will have more changes in the future. May the Force Serve You Joe
  11. They will not be in collections, however if you've completed the mission on any character you will be able to re-acquire the mission items on other characters from the Galactic Seasons vendor Jaliet Nall.
  12. FIRST! Hello folks! But wait, there’s more! We’re adding new rewards to take up the slots that would have been companion related Season story will now be driven by Galactic Season Progress We’ll continue to make changes here and evolve the format over time based on your feedback and data! New Rewards: Removing Companion from the season leaves a pretty large hole in the reward structure. To make up for this we’re adding some new reward types, giving more of the seasonal reputation items, and adding a new item from the Cartel Market (which will bind on legacy). More explicitly, here is a list of new items that would have not been on the track prior to this change: More Seasonal Reputation items FIVE New Personnel Decorations based off of popular Armors A new unique consumable item that grants Jawa Intel to yourself as well as other players An exclusive new Pet A White and White Dye Module We will continue to make adjustments here as we grow the seasonal reward structure based on your feedback and the data. Season Story: Although we won’t have a companion, there will still be character driven stories unique to each season. Progress in the story will be based off of special transmission items that are gained from the Seasonal Reward Track and mission completion. Players can progress on the track regardless of mission progress, you don't even need to do the missions if you don't want to. The unlocks work similar to the alert items we had with the companions except there are more of them, when you get to that unlock you get an item that can be consumed if you have completed the requisite missions before it. The new season is a bit more lighthearted but also explores some intricacies in the dark side of the force. We hope you will enjoy it! With all of that, I look forward to reading your feedback on all of these changes. There will be more coming in the future for Galactic Seasons 6 and onward! May the Force Serve You Joe
  13. Hey there! These are correct in this instance. We left the tax on these items as they are non-consumable, high value items and thus function differently in both the economy and gameplay. I realize that what is and isn’t taxed is sort of hard to tell right now. My plan is to make a list of items that will be purposefully not taxed when we start sharing about 7.3.1 to remove some of that mystery. As always, we’re open to your feedback on this! As for why they have different values, that is completely due to the market for these items.
  14. Hello folks! Repairs and summons should remain unaffected by this change. The guild membership in this case should be looking at your legacy to determine if you have access, so your alts should remain unaffected. In terms of giving things to new members during this period, you may still trade or mail the item or credits as necessary to the new member. This restriction was largely added to reduce the need for taxation at the guild bank level, but there were some additional behaviors we saw during a review of guilds that this helps to discourage. We’ll continue to monitor behavior to help us determine if we need to make other changes. I appreciate your feedback on the amount of time, it is intended to be long enough to discourage folks from abusing it but not so long that it renders the feature unusable. We may make adjustments to this in the future based on feedback and data. I will try to answer any questions regarding this change, if you have further feedback please add it to our Credit Economy thread here.
  15. Hello folks! The original Guild Leader will still have access starting at guild creation, this change only applies to new members in that guild, including the ones that help form it. I will try to answer any questions regarding this change, if you have further feedback please add it to our Credit Economy thread here.
  16. Hello folks! With 7.3 now live, I wanted to answer a couple of questions that we saw on the forums in regards to the access cooldown we’ve added to Guild Banks. The original Guild Leader will still have access starting at guild creation, this change only applies to new members in that guild, including the ones that help form it. We’ll be keeping an eye on this thread, so please continue to offer your feedback here.
  17. Sure, I am happy to give some of these examples (though please do still check things out on the PTS server to verify and to help us find things that feel incorrect). An important caveat with these is while each server has a slightly different economy these are using a median across the entire game. When the GTN overhaul happens it will depend strictly on your server. Also because these are static values until the overhaul that means in order for them to change, it will have to be with a patch. I cannot speak to when we would do that but whenever we have one, we will make sure to give it an update if necessary. Special note on Advanced White-Black Crystal, they don't all sell for the same amounts so that is the current range with the least being Hawkeye and the most being Eviscerating. For those asking, the values are based on successful sales - not listing prices. Thanks for the question, I hope these help!
  18. Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the feedback - we will be taking action on the item tax values and I’d like to go into a bit more detail here. Some of these values were out of sync due to some data issues and some methodology issues. Originally these were based on average GTN value and a conversion based on the Cartel Market that was applied to all relevant items even if they were severely divorced from their GTN Value. There was also an issue in regards to stackable items as it was taking the average price of the stack and applying it to a single item which is not at all intended. To more closely match the intent, we’re changing these to be based on the median GTN value and only applying the conversion for Cartel Market items that were either not in the GTN data or traded near the cap and have a value that exceeds the cap. The conversion was also adjusted based on higher volume items that have a Cartel Coin value to more accurately represent the current economic environment in trade. This should end up looking a bit more fair as the tax won’t be as subject to the potential price volatility you see in the market and the conversion only affects the rarer items or items that have a Cartel Coin value but are low volume trades. It is worth noting that in both cases, the previous data and the current data is limited by time frame and volume to ensure we’re not putting unnecessarily high values on items that seldom sell. That means however that there will be gaps in this iteration, less items will have a tax value. When the overhaul is put into place it will be completely GTN driven minus some exceptions like the one I am going into next. An additional aspect that we’re going to adjust here is removing item trade/mail tax for some gameplay focused items such as Medpacs, Grenades, and so on. Please let us know if you encounter any taxes that feel out of place with this new PTS. We want to get this to a place that feels correct. We’ll be monitoring this change to ensure that this is not being abused, and may re-add the tax to some of the higher value items depending on an ongoing review on past behavior. Guild transfers are something we will be monitoring very closely. It is possible we may impose some additional restrictions in the future, however, we would like to keep guild transfers tax free. This will allow folks who play together regularly to prepare for Operations, giving things to friends, and so on. That all said, please continue to give us feedback on these changes. I greatly appreciate your time and opinions.
  19. The GTN Changes will be in a later patch, 7.3 contains only the updates mentioned in the original post. Stay tuned for more information - I'll definitely be posting about it as we get closer to release. 🙂
  20. Hey everyone! First of all, we love the feedback and ideas. Please keep them coming! If you like a particular suggestion make sure you voice your opinion or drop the poster a like! I hope you had a chance to catch the stream to see a few more tidbits of information related to these changes. If you missed it, check it out on YouTube! I wanted to touch on some of the points I made there and clarify some of the questions raised so far in the thread. Can We Remove the Quick Travel Costs? We do need small sinks in the game just like large ones. I know this one is a bit divisive, and it's something we’re monitoring closely. I can say that we’re open to making adjustments to it, but do not have plans to remove it at this time. Trade/Mail Fees - who pays? The party responsible for all fees is the one who is sending the credits or taxed items. If an exchange is occurring that has taxed items or credits on both sides, then both parties would be paying a fee depending on the value of their side of the exchange. So if I am sending you a mail with credits, the amount you enter is the amount the receiver will get, but the amount you will pay to send it will be that amount + 8% (plus the normal postage fee). This does mean that if you were to gift someone credits they will receive the amount you are intending to give them, but it will cost you that amount plus the associated fee. If you are sending items or mail between your own characters there will not be any additional assessed fees currently. Receivers of items and credits will not pay a fee. How do Item Transaction Fees work? Some items initially will have a value associated with them, this is based on their average value on the GTN and some other conversions based on the current economy. Eventually, this will be completely driven by the GTN. The primary reason we need to have items that have fees is to limit tax avoidance through the use of barter-only trades and prevent folks from moving off of credits entirely to facilitate transactions. Buy Orders!? Yes! We will let you know more about this feature in the future as it's going to be a bit until we can unveil that functionality, but I did want to mention it as one of the reasons to be excited about this overhaul. Exceptions to Trades Under a Certain Value Unfortunately, any exceptions leave room for abuse. Even if most folks would use it for altruistic means such as gifts, it creates a loophole for those looking to dodge the system. We’ll be keeping a close eye on how folks behave under this system with the existing exceptions to see if we need to make further changes. Adjusting the Buyout Price Limit This is the cap on prices in the GTN. We’re looking to increase this so that most items except potentially the rarest can be sold easily but details will come later when we unveil the overhaul. Lore/Naming Yeah, when we talk about these things out of character a lot it makes sense to refer to these as “taxes”, but the more appropriate name for them is Fees. The GTN has Commission Fees, the Mail and Trade will be Transaction Fees. So while we might use them interchangeably they will be displayed in game as those names!
  21. Hello everyone! I’m Joe Stramaglia and I’m a Systems Designer on Star Wars: the Old Republic. Today I am bringing you some of our planned changes for the Credit Economy coming in 7.3 and giving you a hint at some of the changes in the pipeline. First off, I want to say thanks to everyone who provided constructive feedback to our initial changes we introduced in 7.2.1. We’re reading your feedback and looking at data for each phase of these releases as we want to be careful and considerate of each change’s effect. The changes we introduced in 7.2.1 were smaller scale than the ones we’ll be introducing in 7.3 and the upcoming patches, but no one change is looking to solve every problem. They each have a specific intention related to our goals that were shared in that previous post. When we open up 7.3 content on the PTS, players will be able to see the following adjustments: We’re retiring the Tax Evasion Guild Perk, it will no longer be available in future rotations. Secure Trade, Mail, and Collect on Deposit will now have an associated transaction fee based on the value of the transaction. The fee is aligned to the Galactic Trade Network Commission Fee at 8%. Some items will adjust the value of a transaction when transferred via Trade, Mail, and COD and will be subject to the same fee. Many items will have adjusted Vendor sale values. These changes are largely motivated around reducing GTN tax avoidance and adjusting credit inflow from item sales. However we’ve got a suite of changes that rely on these coming in our next phase, which I am going to reveal a little bit earlier as there will be further adjustments to these numbers as a result. We’re actively exploring a complete overhaul of our Galactic Trade Network system! This will include a lot of things I cannot talk about yet as they will come after 7.3 but am very excited to reveal soon. Make sure you check out our livestream on May 3rd at 1pm CT / 6pm UTC and follow here on the forums for more information as we get closer. When this overhaul happens we’re going to be converting the GTN Commission Fee to a Progressive Tax starting lower than our current fees but reaching a higher threshold than our current fees. The exact numbers will be released at a later time, but the Transaction Fees implemented in Secure Trade, Mail, and COD are a flat tax meant to mirror the highest bracket in the GTN to encourage using the network. Whenever Taxes are updated in the GTN those changes will be applied accordingly here as well. We want the Galactic Trade Network to be the premier place for trade. Given we’re exploring the GTN as a place to improve the experience and make participating in our player market more enjoyable for everyone, we'd like to get your feedback on the current state of the GTN in terms of usability. What do you like about how the GTN currently functions? What do you dislike about how the GTN currently functions? Is there anything you wish you could do on the GTN that you cannot do currently? Are there any specific filters, searches, or ways of finding items you particularly like or that you wish existed? What kinds of information do you use to decide when to make a purchase? If you could have more information what would you want? It’s important to note that the changes we’re currently planning are going to take place over multiple phases and releases so not all changes will come online at once. We look forward to sharing the current plans and taking your feedback into account! May the Force be with you
