  1. Thanks for your reply, input is always appreciated First of all: Of course you are completely right about the company's ownership and subsequent singular right to alter the game in any way they want. I never doubted that and won't do it now either. Same goes for me and my money, of course. If I'm not satisfied with the offered product I'm not forced to buy it/providing a sub. I just wanted to share why I made this decision and maybe the company will again think about it. (I know I have better odds in trying to redeem good old Palpatine to the light *sigh*). And yes, I also hope to come back one day. This won't happen before the classes I like to play are again fun to play. Till then I will just be lurking into the game unsubbed and leave my money elsewhere. Tons of interesting games out there. And a last thought: My Problem never was the nerf in dps, (Not a big deal really) but specifically following 2 points: 1) The way it was done. Altering the rotation drastically (not so cheap gear-changes have to be made) without proper warning beforehand (They could have said what they are planning to give players time to adapt. They decided Not to do that.) is a really bad move, especially against motivated newcomers. 2) The blade if the elements rotation was invited with 7.0 and eliminated half a year later with 7.1.1. Explanation for that still missing. Seeing this (with quite some experience from another mmo as progressoriented player) I have my doubts if the devs even know what they actually want with their balancing. All in all a company acting like this deserves to loose customers and therefore money. It's a shame though, cause, as you say, this game has it's moments, a lot of them.
  2. Well, I for myself unsubbed immediately. The reason for this btw is not the completely unnecessary nerf to the spec, but that they did it secretly and also rotation-breaking. So I was able to play and enjoy my main the one day and one day after my rotation is completely gone, I would be forced to buy another tactical (and probably another implant) and farm fragments for it, instead of going for a raid with my team. As a relatively new player this was a big deal for me, especially every other class got warned about the incoming nerfs. Makes no sense to invest time and money in this mess of "balancing". btw: the community of this game is great, also is the story and I'm really hoping to coming back one day after this mess is cleaned up and the responsible devs are fired for good.
  3. Explain then for what reason they nerfed deception assassin without informing the players/customers of their game about it. Or do you believe the de facto elimination of the "blade of the elements"-build happened unintentionally? Btw: I don't think they want assassin players drive away from their game or group-content. They just want us to play a class they can manage to "balance". The holy annihilation marauder for example. Cynism aside: The nerf seems to be a last-minute pvp-oriented decision (makes no sense there either cause after the opener your enemy was either dead or you had to survive till the next burst-window to finish the job). So no, I don't think they are vicious. It's just simple stupidity and unwillingness to listen to their playerbase. Since the beginning of mmo-gaming a sure recipe to kill a game.
  4. Thanks for your ideas. I have indeed various alts of different classes, which I use for crafting and experiencing the storys. I also think I will stay around at least as long as There is story I haven't seen yet. unsubbed though. There is simply no benefit for me in paying money when the class I really like to play is excluded from interesting groupcontent on purpose as I never was a big fan of "space barbie"-dress-up simulators. Especially not for real money. btw: I'm not complaining about the numbers (the around 5% dps nerf is unnecessary and idiotic, but not classbreaking) but the complete elimination of a interesting, fast-paced and fluid rotation. now we have a broken rotation which is not only unintuitive and inconsistent or we switch to the traditional boring and brainlessly easy build which a passive-DoT-tactical. If this is the "vision" of the class developers, bioware should fire them immediately.
  5. Well, not necessarily quit but definitely would spend my unused holiday and look if things get better in meantime 😅 This would be especially true, if I were employed at a company which management's mental sanity and ability to take rational decisions I unfortunately have to doubt. Nerfing mediocre dps-specs to the ground while leaving the "flavour of the developers"-classes untouched seems quite irrational, don't you think so? and a last idea to your post: let's take yor reprganisation as example. The company informs your about an reorganisation of various jobs, for example in the depatments of hatred and lightning. No information regarding The department of deception. and then one monday your superior sends you a memo: you will be reorganized today. Have fun and enjoy yourself! i see no reason to defend such behavior
  6. Well, I need to clarify my problem then: First of all the reason, as I mentioned, for not having as many alts as most of you have is that I'm telatively new to the game. So thats not a matter of the content. "Higher-ranking group content" is of course meaning especially raids in nightmaremode ( I'm not playing a mmo for solocontent primarily. There are, at least for me, better options to do so). But you are right: The problem with the nerf are not the numbers but the complete destruction of a working rotation. After the patch deception rotation is simply hoping for enough critical force-hits. Not very enjoyable to use force-stun or low slash just for that for example. and for what? What is anyone gaining through this changes? Does deception become more viable in any content? Was it overpowered before? that brings me to the second problem and my personal "red line" with this changes: In difference to most of the other nerfs (think of lightning for example) this wasn't communicated at all beforehand. It hit just out of the blue. why exactly is this necessary?
  7. So I logged in yesterday just to find out that my main (deception assassin) has been nerfed to the ground. As a relatively new player (started playing in january) I don't have alts of all classes which are capable to pull the necessary numbers for higher-ranking group content. The reason for this is: I played the game as you wanted it. After deciding which class I want to priorize And learning the abilities, mechanics and rotation I did my farm for gear and after that the (ridiculously long) farm for techfragments for the necessary augments (no way buying it at the gtn as new player. simply can't afford that). in the meantime I also started to learn most of the raid- and groupmechanics and was starting to do my first few nim-runs to get a feeling for it. And now you decide to simply destroy the blade of the elements build. Simply out of the blue. In the past few weeks you encouraged people here to discuss the coming "balancing" changes for dps-classes and never mentioned, that deception assassin will recieve a major nerf. So simple did it secretly. sorry guys, but that is not the right way to treat a customer. Simply not worth the money anymore. time for me to cut the losses and move on to another game, there is not that much new content anyways besides new bugs, unwanted changes in gameplay and shiny new cosmetics.
  8. Can't confirm that. Played the whole evening till now (so it seems we lost time and also played half the night) together with my girlfriend and none of us acknowledged any issues with the server. And definitely didn't get kicked. Maybe a problem with your provider?
  9. Hiho!
  10. Well yeah, of course. That's why we play, don't we? I'll see how far I get
  11. Thanks for the answer and clarification! I can understand the problem as I did my portion of theorycrafting in another mmo for quite a time. It's always annoying when your character gets hit by nerfs, either there is a reason for it or not. But if I understand you right, for me as gameplaywise practically new player this must not bother me as don't know the former of the game and I still will be able to clear all the content if I'm willing to learn to play properly. Is this correct?
  12. Hi all! I actually have the issue, that I can't claim a few rewards from the actual season because one of the two rewards are medals of commendation which are capped for me and I don't know where to spend them atm (don't have enough 2nd currency to spend for gear). So, is there any way to get rid of them so I can claim the reward?
  13. Returning Player here from a long time ago (around SoR). Had to make a new account and start from scratch as I lost my old one. Following the discussion here I really can't understand why so many people seem to have problems with doing solo content atm. I'm playing the content from beginning in chronological order including all heroics an FPs and had no issues completing it so far. On most of my toons (I made oneof every class to enjoy the stories again) I even still not care about gearing, my two lvl 80 charsgot the "green crap" gear though. In comparison to the times as I first remember playing the game it now everything still feels like a breeze and the occassional death is normally my own fault (ignoring mechanics, still learning rotation, that sort of thing). The occassional Vet-FPs I do are also quite a fun for me and really entertaining. Didn't feel strong enough to try MM or OPs though. To clarify: I don't want to say that other players suck or something, I just can't understand where the problems are starting, as I trust the players with more experience than I have, that they know what they are talking about. I really just want to understand if this issues are getting started in later content or if it's only a matter of different expectations and playstyles.
