  1. Got it. So if it says "Only Trooper and Jedi Knight"....it won't work. Thanks!
  2. I recently tried equipping heavy trooper armor (from a schematic, not the adaptive kind) on Aric Jorgan and I found that for some reason, he couldn't wear it. So now I'm a little afraid to waste resources making new armor for my companions since I don't know what they can and can't wear (aside from adaptive). Thoughts?
  3. My girlfriend and I are trying to figure out if it's worth her taking Artifice or sticking with synthweaving. Basically, if it's relatively easy to be able to make colorful items (lightsaber crystals, dyes), she wants to switch. But we can't find information on how hard it is to get color schematics. Purple is her favorite color, but if that color is locked behind Cartel Coins or requires a ton amount of grinding, she'll just stick with Synthweaving (so she can at least customize her look that way).
  4. Yeah, again, while I did play SWG, I'm far from a fan. I enjoyed the crafting and player-made cities and such...but the actual gameplay of grouping, fighting, quest, etc....simply awful. If I didn't have a guild to run (meaning recruiting), I would have quit after a month.
  5. I WISH that had just taken me 15 mins. You try writing 6 pages of structured analysis in 15 mins Anyway, with that, I wish you all happy gaming. It's been fun but I gotta get to sleep. Let's hope King Arthur 2 goes better....ah who am I kidding
  6. Sure there isn't a need. We didn't NEED to go to the moon either.
  7. My goal is to entertain and/or inform. No where does it say I have to be professional. Further, I think people can appreciate unfiltered honesty over diplomatic BS. They get enough of that from their politicians
  8. I'm not calling them fanboys. I think their inability to inter-relate concepts is not unique the games, but to all life. I've met these people in real life, and they can't connect concepts together to save their lives. Morons.
  9. And Galaxies and Everquest...and DDO in this thread.
  10. No I honestly believe that they can't understand core ideas and concepts...and that when the surface details vary, they don't see the common thread. To them, WoW and TOR are nothing alike because they differ in look and setting.
  11. It's a common colloquialism...Obama used it in his first campaign.
  12. Hey, I stand by that. Those people are morons.
  13. PC only for now. And yeah thanks for the heads up. The genre categories work though.
  14. I'm not saying you prefer this gameplay because you are ignorant. I'm saying that the statement "This is what an MMO HAS to be" is ignorant, because it's simply not true.
  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objectivism_(Ayn_Rand)
  16. Yeah that's a fair point. Maybe I should have left it out. Mostly I just wanted to say "Yeah I hate it, but I'm not the person to come to for an opinion on this anyway." There is probably a more elegant way of accomplishing that goal than the way I chose. So, point conceded.
  17. I wasn't paid, actually. Unless you count getting to play the game free for 60 days. And I absolutely am not a sensationalist. As an Objectivist, the idea of pandering to an audience (trolling is just another form of pandering), is out of the question. I wrote my honest opinion, regardless of how I thought it would be received. If that makes for a "poor impression", I'd hate to see someone who makes a good impression on you.
  18. If it's such an immutable fact of all MMOs, how come D&D online is so different? Sure it's still stat-based, but it plays almost like an action game. You click to swing your sword, you hold right click to block, you only hit your quickbar here and there (unless you are a mage), etc etc. As I said in my review, the only reason people are content with decades-old gameplay is because they've conditioned themselves to think that's all it can ever be. They lack imagination (or even experience playing other MMOs).
  19. I agree with you completely on this, I did not cover it. I'm not qualified to cover it since I have almost no background in it. I also don't do reviews of cars for the same reason
  20. Good point, though I still maintain that Tirfin made some good points about my general perspective. But you are correct, people seem to agree with my main points simply by way of not addressing them. They just don't approve of the fact that I chose to focus on them and not on others.
  21. Actually, I was hired by Game-Over.com to write a SWTOR review because the other writers passed on it and my editor wanted it done. I passed on it too, originally.
  22. Yeah, because I get so much ad revenue from your viewership The only thing I get out of you reading is that maybe you like my stuff and leave comments that I can respond to. I make no money off my site and my only real goal is the hope of MAYBE catching the eye of someone in the industry so I can go from low-level freelancer to professional.
