So I stumbled upon this on youtube and I have to say, it is an intriguing video. Love or hate the current PT we current have this actually sounds interesting. And I fully agree about the Yoda suggestion.

honestly SW 7 is still being written, we can jump all over the place until we see a finished product. Rumors will be flying all over before anything is really concrete. For all we know, vader will show up and talk to luke or perhaps luke and vader will show up a lot and teach/guide the new person.

honestly the Tie Interceptor is my favorite in the empire's squadron. it would be the only craft I'd want to fly if I were imperial. In Xwing v Tie Fighter i always took it with me (unless it was a bombing mission, then I took the gunboat.) If the interceptor were a lady, she'd be the Christina Hendricks of the imperial fleet. Classy and shows up out of no-were.

Mark Hamill had to learn kendo for episodes 5 and 6 if I remember correctly. In the PT the fights were there too look impressive and awesome. In the OT the fights were emotionally driven there was a lot more going on than just a lightsaber fight.

I would not be surprised if Tavus was ignorant of the whole thing. And to help keep things under wraps, not to tell the commander of a very hush hush squad of commandos run by one of the nosiest generals in the republic.

If I remember correctly from the essels, they take thranta looking ships and significantly reduce the armament to free up space to use as army transports to take armies to campaigns. These ships stay out of fleet battles and general show up once the space is clear to let them safely enter orbit to distribute their troops onto the planet. Or they wait for a signal from the main fleet engaging the enemy before jumping in so that the main fleet is distracted. Chances are, on the actual capital ships and smaller crusiers they do not have ground troops, but marines which repel boarding actions.

you know, come to think of it, the main players of the rebels seem mighty young. And there are not a lot of them. They live in the wilderness...on an occupied planet...sounds awfully familiar...wolverines anyone?

Galactic civil war era. Seriously we need more stuff from that era. Pre-new republic but post old republic. Would love to read some novels of the original rogue squadron or other rebel cells without casting the "A-Team."

It was definitely a set up episode to establish the planet and the main characters of this campaign. Though the sappy teen drama was annoying. The whole "the boy is mine" feels played with too much. Also the competition of leadership (Saw is a bit more overt, Lux is more subtle) was also a bit much. Could have drawn it out over a couple of episodes and let it grow organically (with both drama) .

The empire never "teamed up" with the sith. It just always belonged to them. They are the elite upper class with the power of the dark side of the force to back it up. The sith are manipulative and powerful enough to keep the population from revolution and keeping them loyal. After the great hyperspace war the survivors fled to dromund kaas and the sith, still in power, helped rebuild the empire from scratch. On dromund kaas if you pay attention to what some of the officers had to say, they seem like they want an efficient empire but the sith always seem to screw it up on a whim. Though displeased with what the sith can do they always take it in stride like the sith are the drunk uncle at a family reunion who embarrassed the family, but hey they are family and you're not going to abandon family. This has been going on for 3 thousand (arguably longer) years. The emperor, though absent publicly for us in game, has still been around since the reforging of the empire after the great hyperspace war. He is beloved by the people. It is like having an extremely popular king with squabbling or inept lords/ladies/barons/etc. As for your comment on balmorra, this is not limited to the empire. All societies do that to try and one up and get promoted in one way shape or form. And being that those officers are part of the empire (and in the occupational force division of the military which probably doesnt advance careers as fast as the military on the front lines) I am sure the ways of the sith progressing in their own subculture probably has rubbed off on those officers who have witnessed first hand the effectiveness of subverting or competing with others for high positions. That isnt to say all imperials do this. Quite honestly, sith aside, I think this is the only time ive seen this happen in the imperial military, granted my imperial classes have onl;y made it as far as hoth. So I think this is more the exception to the rule. And one has to question the personal loyalties of the officers in question here as well. Those die hard loyalists may not be tempted to do such a thing. As far as the players favoring their ideology: I strongly disagree. I think its probably more role playing on the player's character than actually accepting the imperial ideology. and as stated before the uniforms on the imperial side are so crisp and nice looking. They are just purty.

Speaking strictly from a military standpoint: The Empire has a well oiled military machine (with occasional backfire from sith in fighting) compared to the republic. A prime example are the main military bases on Hoth. If you visit Aurek Base and then Dorn base you will see that Dorn base is better organized with better fortifications and defense. On top of that they are better staffed and lack Sith overlords (for the time being). Aurek base is disorganized, with minimal defenses. Everything is spread out (not unlike the republic itself) which makes it hard to defend. The Imperial military is all about efficiency and that is something to be admired. The republic, although diverse which helps with different theater of war, has a very convoluted command structure. You have commanders that speak basic and huttese (and possibly other languages) which may not mesh well when sending orders with mixed divisions. The empire soldiers all know and use basic (even their chiss allies). This way there are no confusions on orders and there is a clear passing down of orders from the top to the bottom. The republic staff (including the spec forces) seem to fade in and out with each other and cause a lot of confusion unless a huge campaign/offensive is being planned. They seem to have a hard time adapting to situations as they are used to using specialists (like the Talz for hoth) to deal with these adverse situations. For example the big guy and tiny guy at Aurek base complaining that they dont have the proper winter gear for this. The actual ideals for the empire (we conquer everyone so they're is peace) is pretty misguided but has decent intentions (though the sith aristocrats probably want war as revenge and expression of power, yadda yadda yadda). The republic on the other hand is about uniting people through peace and allowing all people regardless of species to have equal representation in the galaxy. I would write more but im hungry....

when i got home I turned on the TV and caught the last 10minutes and it was adorable!

JK all 3 acts! though act 2 was the weakest of the three. By far my favorite class story. Trooper- Act 1 was fun, act 2 seems like filler/opening montage to an oceans 11 movie. Smuggler- Act 1 was awesome! act 2 was fun but not quite as interesting. Bounty Hunter- only played act 1 and it was great! Sith Warrior- Only played act 1 and it was great, really felt like vader with my juggernaut. Sith Inq- only played act 1 but it felt very boring. Slightly more interesting than trooper's act 2.

Is the "Rebel Force" series any good?

I've read varying things that explain that stormtroopers are elite and are recruited from the Imperial military and that most of the clone war vets (clones) act as CO's and training instructors and from time to time commandos. Training/leading the new Empire's shock troops. The imperial army/marines are made up of humans from across the empire and typically wear uniforms and armor like that of General Veers in tESB when he is in the AT-AT. Imperial Troopers General Veers Veers in Imperial Army Combat uniform/armor Storm Troopers actually seemed like they did pretty well in one on one fights with the rebels (tantive 4, Battle of Hoth) In the movies. They did quite well at the Battle of Endor before the ewoks came and cause chaos and confusion. Hell Even Leia, one of the heroes, got shot. Mind you this is all suppose to be a grand epic where heroics> reality (even fantastical reality ). I am sure the training and weapons/armor of the Imperial Storm-trooper Legions are quite adequate against most civilian and insurgencies. It took the alliance nearly 21 Years to take get rid of the empire and bring back the republic, and even then the empire was still around and never really died.
