  1. I find it very disappointing and frustrating that a very specific, minority group of people posting here chose to focus so much of their energies on undermining the overall intention of OP's thread. It's not only counter-productive, but unnecessarily exhausting--so much so that I have to dismiss their avalanche of overzealous rationalization. Ultimately, I support OP's endeavor to try and rally the GSF community to voice our collected interest in having the Dev team further expand on what I hope everyone would agree is a truly fantastic and fun mini-game.
  2. I share in the disappointment. I mentioned before that I really feel like they need to appointment an experienced, qualified Dev as their official Decorations Czar or something. Somebody who meets the following criteria: 1) Is passionate about stronghold decorating. 2) Actively plays SWTOR. 3) Activately decorates strongholds. 4) Has a high attention for detail and who is meticulous, reliable and consistent. Stronghold decos need a serious overhaul and while it will take a lot of work I still think that the workload to get everything consistent and streamlined is still manageable and achievable. I want this Deco Czar to be intimately familiar with all the frustrations and problems inherent with strongholds and decos. Somebody who really knows it from the inside out and who has shared in our pain and misery.
  3. I agree. It would be a great QoL improvement if they streamlined crew skill missions and allowed us to "lock in" a screen so we don't have to continuous scroll around to manually send our companions out. I think it's clunky and could definitely be improved.
  4. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm pretty sick and tired of the Devs in the stronghold department always having a hard time of grasping the obvious. I encounter so many frustrations when decorating due to these continuous lapses in common sense. I feel like there is nobody manning the helm in the Stronghold department and there really should be. A simple concept like like an umbrella and towel combination suddenly becomes an unnecessary headache because whoever was in charge of producing these things apparently didn't stop to consider how best to put the package together. While I definitely prefer most of the decos as solo decos, it wouldn't have hurt if they had slapped an umbrella, towel, and drink bucket into a furniture arrangement or something. Based off of what I've experienced I have a really hard time believing that the Devs who are in charge of Strongholds have ever spent serious time in actual decorating. I feel like if they did, they would immediately go, "Wow, there's a whole lot of stuff that we should improve so we can make this work better." I'm looking right at you, X and Y Value Sliders! They already doubled the amount once before from a max of 10 to a max of 20. If it's possible, why not boost them to a max of 50 or even more so we can do things like place large decos flush against a wall or position Centerpiece and Starship decos more significantly?
  5. I absolutely agree! This has been long overdue and is such a simple thing. Why have they stopped? The only answer I can think of is that the amount of Devs left on this game must be a staggeringly small amount. Simple little things like having somebody on the team remember to issue new Stronghold titles doesn't seem to be so simple anymore. Disappointing.
  6. I'm always down for more customization options for all races. I also think it's high time they start incorporating new playable races as well. I'd love to play a Nautolan or a Duros.
  7. Boadicea is pretty spot on with the points he has been making, whereas you seem to keep responding because you fail to realize when you've lost an argument.
  8. YES!!! This is a hell of a lot more fair and reasonable than forcing us to delete all of our stronghold copies just to get the new one. Seriously, I am very demoralized about this situation. The biggest fail by the Dev team is that they don't seem to acknowledge or appreciate the amount of time and energy creative people put into making these things look cool. It's an art form to making a well-designed stronghold. I have absolutely NO DESIRE to delete any of my "bonus" strongholds I got from the merge, but I would be more willing to sacrifice one to gain a new one.
  9. A lot of us have been decorating strongholds and collecting decos for years now. I have several copies of the same strongholds thanks to the server merge and, yes, I decorate them. If you're asking why people would want multiple copies of the same stronghold then let me give you an example: Think about all the decorations that currently exist. If you need help just open up your decorations menu and scroll through all of the decos. There are literally *hundreds* now and more keep coming out. I not only love to decorate but I also love to RP. Strongholds provides a custom environment where players can create a variety of SCENES and these scenes can be fun just for the sake of a hobby and it can also be used for stuff like RP or guild events or anything else you can think of. Is it that hard to get that people would like to have multiple variations of the same stronghold? Yes, I want a cool military base on Dromund Kaas but I also want to make a cantina there as well. While I'm at it I'd also like to have a trophy-themed SH so I can display all my achievement trophies, Ranked PVP trophy decos and trophy artwork from PVP matches. I'd love all of this to be on DK because I happen to like that environment the best and because that world works best for all the ideas I have in mind. Can you understand now? Is it that difficult to get why a lot of us want multiple copies of strongholds? Another example is I have all these heavy industrial decos, big machinery, etc. I'd like to make a factory somewhere and the strongholds available are pretty limited, so where would make a good place for a factory? Tatooine? Sure, that would be a good choice because it's big and is one of the only strongholds that actually would be suitable for making a big industrial factory. Well, what if I already made my Tatooine stronghold into a resort place with pretty trees and fountains and fancy furniture? Sure would be NICE if I didn't have to destroy hours or even days worth of meticulous design work just to make room for a factory, right?! Do you get it now?
  10. Guess what? I logged on today and realized I'd lose a bunch of strongholds I slaved over and am proud of. When I realized I couldn't buy Rishi I DIDN'T just go and delete all my goddamned hard work! I simply didn't buy the damn thing and started coming here in search of other people who have the same problem. Listen to the OP! He knows what he is talking about! We're not talking about just one or 2 strongholds at stake here. We're talking about people who have more than double what the current cap limit is! I hesitated buying Rishi for a damn good reason. I put TONS of time and money into this stuff and if I'm not given a way to save it then the devs need to raise the damn cap!
  11. Devs, Please, please, PLEASE don't screw up the Rishi hook layout like you so badly screwed up Yavin, Manaan and the Umbaran train! Please do not put the same person who laid down those absolutely awful hook layouts in charge of Rishi. Kick that person out! Demote that person to janitor duty if you have to but PLEASE do NOT allow another stronghold to be ruined because the person you put in charge of laying down Hook Tiles is too incompetent to understand how to provide us with a layout that gives designers MAXIMUM flexibility. Please assign this absolutely CRUCIAL task to a Dev who has extensive experience and talent with decorating strongholds!

  13. Thank GOD I found this thread!!! I'm new to the forums but I have been a huge fan of Strongholds since they came out but the number one thing that makes me want to rip my hair out is how absolutely AWFUL the hook arrangements have been!!! My frustration with hook layouts started when they released Yavin. Here was this big beautiful stronghold for us to decorate and whoever was put in charge of arranging the tile made it SOOO frustrating and LIMITING. That main entrance temple drove me crazy because it wasn't giving me the simplest of options to work with. Every SH that has come out since then has been a HUGE frustration and it's all entirely because whoever is arranging the hooks in these places has absolutely NO IDEA WHATSOVER how to arrange tiles in a way that allows us decorators the maximum amount of options for arranging decos to our liking. Manaan was such a big disappointment for many reasons, but the biggest reason for me was how utterly stupid those tiles were arranged! That long pathway in the front with the fountains dotted with nothing but single small hooks along the length was completely pointless. The tile arranger didn't even bother to consider putting down Medium Narrow hooks instead, or even Medium hooks. This kind of thoughtlessness is a HUGE problem with strongholds and what kills me is how it never needed to happen if the guy they hired to arrange these layouts actually had some common sense! The Umbarran Train ended up being just a continuation of the same. Many of the box cars had plenty of space to support Large sized hook tiles and instead we were only given Medium hook tiles to work with! All that space became wasted. I would have loved to have converted one of those rooms into a laboratory and medical facility and put my Large decos to use. I seriously don't get how anybody laying down those tiles doesn't understand such a simple thing like filling the space with the largest possible hook types so that players have the most FLEXIBILITY to work with. I am convinced that the person they put in charge of hook layouts has never decorated a stronghold in his life. Nobody who has taken the time and thought to decorate a stronghold would ever make such stupid decisions. If we don't keep saying something about this I guarantee you they are going to ruin Rishi just like they did Yavin, Manaan and Umbara.
  14. I just watched the live stream where the devs confirmed that the new SH is going to be Rishi! At first I was super excited to hear the news but then I realized I was already at my stronghold cap. I put a lot of time and energy into decorating and I don't want to lose the work I already have. I agree with OP on this idea. Please don't force players to have to trash one of our old SHs in order to make room for a new one!
