  1. When i play the bounty contract event, if an informant doesn't give me what i want he attacks. If I kill him he drops a blue "underworld information" drop. But this doesn't show up in my inventory, or my quest items tab, and doesn't change the # of informants I need to talk to. Also, If I kill any other informants they also drop it but if I try to pick it up, it says "unique item limit reached". Whats the deal?
  2. I just sent my companions out on crew missions from my iPhone just now. I used Teamviewer to remote into my PC that's running SWTOR. A lot of people use it.
  3. Teamviewer, which has an iphone app, will let you remote into your desktop with swtor running. It only sends you screenshots every few seconds so all you can do is craft. But it does work.
  4. its weird because if its PVP, you just set your status and as soon as one opens, a pop up appears wherever you are and you're instantly teleported to the warzone. But flashpoints it forces you to stand around and wait at the flashpoint entry area waiting... and waiting....
  5. one of the things I haven't made enough time for is flashpoints. Mostly because I'm not a power leveler and many of my guild mates have eclipsed me level wise (still, I'm no slouch at level 31). So I really want to do the flashpoints that are in my range now as I find myself under geared (bowdarr is still using the same weapon he came with) and have been told that flashpoints is where you get the good loot. The problem is trying to get into a flashpoint group is way more difficult than it should be. If I want to go LFG for a flashpoint it means (as far as I can tell) that I have to basically sit around the fleet flagged as an LFG until someone bites, or spam the general chat channel. I can't LFG for the fleet flashpoint while at the same time passing the time questing on Alderaan. Last night I hung around the fleet for almost a half an hour trying to join, or get a group going before I gave up and went back to questing. Any tips?
  6. yes, but since the search function is disabled in the forums...
  7. One of the helpful things when I get some loot is when you look at it you get a pop up showing your currently equipped item and how it stacks up to the new loot stat-wise. This is very helpful. Unfortunately we don't get the same pop up option showing what our current companion is equipped with. This means I have to go to my companions equip screen and manually look at each item, then click on the loot, and try and figure out what stat changes the new loot has. Its time consuming. Hopefully this can be fixed at some point.
  8. I know this is an old threat but I've read some players open with Flourish Shot to reduce targets armor, then vital shot to start a bleed and THEN drop into cover and do a charged burst since if you have the snap shot ability it gives you a 50% chance of activating instantly when going into cover. also, ALWAYS look for natural cover as it gives you more bonuses than the portable shield cover. I actually didn't know that until recently. But I figure most people already know that.
  9. So according to what I've read it says you can queue up to 5 crafting tasks for a companion. However this doesn't work for me. When I send a companion off to craft something, If I try to add another task on top of it I get a message saying that they companion is already busy with a current task
  10. The really sad part is he was only two days away from retirement.
  11. same here. have everything on high and its smooth as silk. Although the game has still not enabled anti aliasing yet.
  12. This was talked about a lot in the old forum and the devs even commented sayings it's something they are looking at. The downside is you have to balance it with the fact that players who don't have Smartphone's won't be able to use the feature creating a potential imbalance in the game. I am all for it if they can work out those issues.
  13. I don't know, his magic 8 ball has never lied to him before...
  14. OMG! You had to wait TWO EXTRA MINUTES for your email? I take back everything Ive said. BIOWARE THIS IS THE WORST LAUNCH IN HISTORY!!!! QQQQQQQQQ
  15. for the young padawans in this thread who weren't around, The worst MMO launch I've ever experienced was WWII Online in 2001. Man that was bad. From Wikipedia: The initial launch had a number of technical difficulties. The game required that players download a 70 MB update before they could play online. At the time, the majority of users had 56k modems, requiring around three hours to update the game. As the developers worked feverishly behind the scenes to complete other promised features and fix the software bugs on the gold CD, even more updates became necessary. Three days prior to release, the colocation network facility had a bad fiber optic cable. This failure reduced the player capacity of the server cluster, from 10,000 players down to only 1200 players. As a temporary workaround, Playnet set up multiple copies of the game-world on different servers, distributing the network load, but at some cost in game play. This solution lasted for several months while the developers resolved the server-side issues, after which all servers were merged into a single game-world. Some features advertised on the game box were partially implemented, or missing, such as rank and high-command strategic features. The combination of the above problems resulted in game returns, complaints from customers, and a drop-off in sales as word spread of the game's state. Subscription fees for the first several months were waived, until the major problems with the game were resolved. This helped to retain many of the players, especially the long-term fans of the project, but it was not long before Playnet had financial problems. They filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late 2001, and cut costs, resulting in a number of lay-offs within the company. Statements from both the developer (CRS), and publisher (Strategy First), indicated that CRS wanted a longer open beta, but the game was launched anyway, due to financial reasons.[5]
  16. You realize the game is released next Tuesday, right? Its on the home page. in big letters. Go look. I'll wait.
  17. everyone can get in without waiting when the game is released on December 20th. EGA was ALWAYS a situation conditional on you agreeing to certain restrictions (such as staggered access, etc) you had to agree to in order to get the BONUS of early access. If you don't like how they did it, just have you and your friends buy the game when it gets released.
  18. This is my point, you think it only "worked" for people who "those that got in right at the start", meaning people who are getting OVER 5 days of EGA, when when everyone signed up they were only told they could get UP TO FIVE. So your upset you're not getting more than you were promised.
  19. I beleive the devs just said that that is what they are aiming for today, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
  20. I disagree. The devs even said why they didn't do that. It was all based on how the servers were reacting and handling the load. Sure they had internal rough estimates, but say they released them and something happened that set them back a day or two. The flaming in this forum would have been off the charts at how bioware "lied" and they are awful and yadda yadda yadda. Its all about perspective. 2 years from now when this game is on its 5th expansion pack and everyone has bee playing for a long time, we'll look back and think "god remember when we thought the world was ending because we had to wait 2 days longer than we thought to play this game BEFORE the release date?"
  21. So your standard is you should've been given more than what they promised you?
  22. Now that all of the trolls and whiners are in game, it's time to admit the truth: The Early Game Access program was a HUGE success. what did they promise in the beginning? Up to 5 days of early game access depending on when you preorder. Then they made it even better by giving us up to SEVEN days of EGA. And then, when everyone who preordered late were bemoaning how "unfair " it would be if they only got a day (even though it would've been their own fault), it looks like almost EVERYONE will get 4 days of EGA, and the vast majority getting five OR MORE. All of this was done with precision, with no major screw ups other than the occasionally full server when accessing (to be expected). If any devs read this, THANK YOU for handling the trolls with grace and aplomb and putting up with their petulance and childish behavior, THANK YOU for letting us in early to play, and most of all THANK YOU for making what I think is the best MMO I've ever played.
  23. Kind of makes the endless complaining from people who had the indignity of waiting 3 days to get into an (extended) EGA seem even more petulant and petty, doesn't it?
