  1. But it's wrong, it wasn't changed. Preferred players (since the forum change as far as I can tell) have been able to post anywhere. I've been preferred for almost a year with only one month in between being subbed and I've been able to post everywhere during that time. As I already explained btw.
  2. Diminishing returns are always present, they don't start anywhere. Each stat point more will give less of a % increase. You should split the stats the way you want them to, hit 110% accuracy on DPS (or tanks but that's by default). Alacrity is different. Alacrity at certain points gives a significant increase in DPS. For example having 500 points in alacrity will not be a significant increase, having about 7.15% will give you an AVERAGE gcd of 1.4s which is a significant increase. It "rolls" around the 1.4s resulting in 1.3s, 1.4s, 1.5s GCDs, going a little bit beyond that (7.4 - 7.5%) just feels more consistent because it will make hitting 1.5s GCD very unlikely. But technically speaking the most value (if only considering alacrity) gained per stat point is exactly 7.15%. Going above the breakpoint is NOT because of latency! Also there are things like longer GCDs after a certain combination of abilities (namely fury marauder) but this also doesn't matter and is of no consequence to playstyle, it's just good to know. Just slap the rest into crit, literally. For tanks it's different, tanks only "break point stat" is currently unreachable. It varies per class but it is the % of defense that makes you immune to meele/ranged attack WHILE using deflection / saber ward (without predation active), I've been on break for too long but it should be around 28% for sin tank (but not reachable currently, or last time I played). For tank stats you should just get about 500 more shield than absorb, if you feel confident you can run 700 - 1400 crit or whatever. I very strongly recommend using crit crystals on every class, but especially on tanks. Do not play alacrity on tanks. People who claim this is good do not know what they're talking about, there is exactly one fight in the game where it COULD make a difference, but it unlikely to even there. I won't get too much into it, but just don't play alacrity on tanks. If you check out the theorycrafters discord take their opinions with a grain of salt, often times the information is so broken down that they end up being wrong and inaccurate. For 99% of players it's good enough though. Just don't think of it as a "must", most things there are just opinions and nothing more. You would for example find diminishing return charts on theorycrafter discord, but I do not know what information you'd take out of that. In a case like this doing what the discord says is usually correct.
  3. Why do the developers announce things that just... never were the case? I'm talking about the last point players with preferred accounts can post in X section. I've been preferred for about 3 or 4 months, than I was subbed for one month and before that maybe 6 months preferred. There wasn't a single time, excluding the timeouts, where I wasn't able to post. So why is this listed? Do we really have so little news that they just... make stuff up? Will the next recap be: "F2P players can now play the first 3 acts for free!". Never mind literally 3/4 bullet points just aren't content, and the last one is literally just cutscenes.
  4. "I'm going to hop to the supermarket on one leg" -> "the supermarket is too far away they should make it closer" "I'm gonna drive with 3 instead of 4 tires" -> "wow this roads kinda bumpy though" "I'm gonna click instead of keybind" -> "why can't I beat X content" putting yourself (willingly, and know knowingly) at a disadvantage and complaining X is too difficult is not smart - this is my opinion. I absolutely and entirely disagree with almost everything you said. You haven't improved and you do not care to and thats fine, but then why assume things like if you have no idea what this actually entails. I have seen both sides, clicking, keybinds, server first teams and heroic prog teams. I actually do know what I'm talking about when I say it's not worth for guilds whose members want to improve to recruit clickers. Muscle memory is a big big thing. Clicking doesn't build this at all, keybinds do. E.g. I cannot tell where the letter "J" is on a blank keyboard but I can always, and without fail, hit it if I want to type it with 10 fingers. Things like this make it easier to react to mechanics on the fly and many many more things. But as I said, it's pointless. Anyway, good luck friend.
  5. Good. The only reason I care is because I like them as persons not because they're good, how ever I will admit there was a phase when I was younger where I did believe top players are cool. You don't think so, I don't think so anymore - it's perfectly fine. No, there is no reward from this content. And even so, the content that does have rewards is old enough to be uninteresting by now. Nerf everything, I don't really care - rewards aren't what people like me look for in MMOs. It's planning a strategy and executing it flawlessly, the last two years I raided I only played 4 or 5 tanks - if i'd care i'd have swapped to any of my idk 40 tanks and collected titles or whatever, but it doesn't matter to me. Gonna address all of this at the same time. I don't care how other people play the game, this is why I said that I don't want to tell him how to play. I do have to say that you parsing it proves my point exactly, people who click don't understand why it's bad. You are not looking at the screen. You said you don't know any other players except your guild, so clearly the argument that all good players have keybind in literally MMOs without any exceptions can't resonate with you - but you know who does know those players? Me. I'd go as far as to say in all 200 Hall of Fame WoW raiding guilds there isn't a single person clicking and I'm pretty confident about that. It's an absolute massive difference as I said, in years of seeing recruits and trials and whatnot I'll always vote against recruiting clickers, it's nothing personal I just value my time. I do not know that person, I don't want to have someone mess up the strategies because they're not looking at the screen, it's not enjoyable to me at all. Maybe this is an example: I come to raid where there are no rewards I could get, I only come for the experience and the people, the experience however is ruined when we wipe, someone that's clicking could cause a wipe because they're clicking their abilities instead of looking where the tanks are, where people are going, the non-verbal communication is completely missed and it's just impossible to see things like this as a clicker. This is why clickers never believe that I can see (without seeing their UI or screen) if they are clicking or not. Wiping because a clicker just didn't see what was going on because they were looking at their mouse makes me feel like that person isn't valuing my or anybody elses time in the raid. Again, not telling anybody how to play, it's pointless and nobody will ever be convinced. That however does not change a very obvious better choice, not taking this choice puts themselves and thus the group and thus me at a disadvantage which just feels bad, especially in fights where one person dying could wipe the group. Like I'm sure you're a great person, don't get me wrong but I just can't help myself but feel like anything I could explain or try to teach will just not be executed because of clicking. I mean just think about why literally no person that is really good is clicking, I don't want anything more. I was clicking at one point, got declined because I was (completely justified), I questioned why this could be a reason, I tried easing into keybinds. Within two days I realized why I got declined. I did also say I'll stop discussing keybinds because it has nothing to do with balance, but it does with beating eternal championship and learning and executing those mechanics. I did let this argument die, you necro'd it so feel like I have to respond Same, but only because of the ignorant/arrogant part. I wouldn't recruit those people no matter how they play. completely fine, the 40 is probably going to be about 5 to 10% of the fight's GCDs, probably even less so you're still looking at whats happening for a major amount of time which is absolutely fine.
  6. Engineering has a long and very predictable setup, just use a cooldown. To get the most out of explosive probe combo you need interrogation probe up, the enemy needs to be in plasma probe, they need to have 3 stacks of railgun and explosive probe is on you at least one GCD before it actually does damage with EMP discharge. Same argument as always, gonplay and it and see why it isn't overpowered for yourself.
  7. of course it would but this is a mechanic, boss health is irrelevant to their difficult as long as it is so high that a mechanic has to be played once. Example: brontes fingers, increase their hp by 50% so that people have to play the knockback twice, doesn't make the phase more difficult (excluding stacks on hands obv.) theres just no reason to do it wrong the 2nd time after it went correct the first time. If a player would die to fingers the first knockback they can't really claim its overtuned because the fingers have too much HP. Styrak however is a (historically) long fight with kill times of 14minutes not being uncommon. This is because a phase repeats 7 or 8 times. This doesn't increase the difficulty, its just annoying. They'd need to change spellqueueing so its always a bit different. The issue isn't that the phase repeats, its that it does so so so many times. up to 5 is fine I'd say, in group content it does add difficulty since people cannot wipe through that phase and just rez like we can or coratanni. In solo content we can't just wipe through a mechanic thus I'd argue even playing it twice doesn't add difficulty - that is not a bad thing. The rest I'm pretty fine with, the question stuff is just... like what boss is overtuned? Sure Lanos isn't, or the first one. So what boss is too strong? And what classes do you have at your disposal to beat it? I can probably explain a thing or two that makes the fight easier to do. I don't really think this is going anywhere, clearly we disagree on if EC is too challenging - but thats fine. Wouldn't the world be so boring if everybody agreed all the time?
  8. ? Yeah, and players have more HP now, more damage and more DR. This more or less equals out. At the very least its not anything that could make or break a fight. And we have tacticals now. They just don't have a reason to risk overbuffing old content. Thus they pretty much guarentee it can't happen. But it don't. If a person has understood the fight they can play it for 3 or 30 minutes, it doesn't matter. This however isn't difficult, its just annoying. The only reason it feels like HP makes a fight harder is because the bosses defeat the players before they're able to burn him regardless of his mechanics, just play them and win. All the classes still work the same, some prio changes maybe at most. Which class do you have in mind, which class fundamentally changed since EC release? Hatred? Concealment? Those classes come to my mind, but even there only filler prio has changed. Or maybe you're talking about ability pruning, then name one boss where pruning puts any class at a unfair disadvantage because all the choices could fundamentally change the fight? Honestly I'll not even argue this point. I'd prefer to play without a companion. But I'll also take every advantage I can, so I kinda have to use them. I've not noticed a powerlevel change, but I do not have evidence - its just how I feel. So sure, I admit that its nothing we as the players can do, the companions are simply to bad to carry us. Okay, the gear difference between 320 of 344 doesn't matter. Yes gear matters to a degree, but this 22 ilevels won't make a fight impossible or even significantly harder. The reason it feels like it is because people who get to 344 are usually kinda good anyways and people who play in 320 or 327 or whatever are typically not. Yes, gear does matter if someone has 200 gearscore, but the difference between 320 or 344 in this type of content is so insignificant its almost no difference. its not assumptions, its questions you chooose to ignore. I'm not even sure why, just answer them. They aren't rethorical.
  9. Apparently you aren't an adult. The next words are "regardless of that though...". And ignoring all the rest, so I guess you must agree. Thats good!
  10. I've gone back and read the first pages again and you didn't. You had some posts about bosses being stronger, players being weaker, companions getting nerfed and gear mattering a lot. At leasts thats the short version. Bosses being stronger than they used to: Which brings me back to the question, which one? You did state that some boss is 75% harder than it used to be, but adding HP isn't difficulty. There wasn't any evidence given and honestly I wouldn't even know how to do that. Players being weaker: You were talking about cast time changes, but cast times and GCDs only matter in raid content where fights are long enough giving players more GCDs to use, if we kill a boss in 6 GCDs it don't matter how long they are. And as shoony rightfully pointed out you could go make that gear since its not a raid and we only need 105 accuracy. Neither accuracy nor alacrity get scaled down. Ability pruning is another thing I've read but please, give me a boss where for whatever class you're playing pruning made you pick between two good choices? Because I can't think of any, I can barely think of raid fights that do this! Companion nerf: In my opinion giving power to companions is bad. It doesn't feel good. As for them not walking out of AOEs, as stated we as the player have control about most AOEs. Even about the suicide droids, just aggro them, no class should struggle doing so. I honestly don't know much about companions, I do not like them and thus I rarely use them. Gear mattering: Gear doesn't matter, as I've proofed with the video. Nevermind that though, this game isn't WoW we don't have mainstat as powerful as agi or strength. Teritary stats are the key to gear in this game and they are MASSIVELY overrated, theorycrafters are baiting people into learning rotations and getting a stat distribution. The people then still don't do good dps, but they've also now put the reason for that on unoptimized gear - they play the best rotation afterall. Its literally a mental block to not realize the own mistakes. Most of the time, especially in free play like eternal championship rotations are just bad. Conclusion: we still don't know what bosses are overtuned or why they are, as I've said they probably feel overtuned because mechanics are unknown. We still don't know what classes would struggle beating any of the bosses. Saying "they got 75% stronger" isn't a reason, give the wookie in ravagers 75% more HP and damage and he still does nothing, just one of countless examples.
  11. First of all nothing is stoping an arena group from doing the same, regardless of that though it's clear you cannot understand ranked from a top3 perspective. There is essentially only two ways to lose, the enemy team has more players with a name you know then yours, or you messed up. Everything else is won. If prum and nike queue together and they get against each other all they do is talk about information both have access too "oh man that guy broke", "yeah I saw lmao". Both nike and prum and great players, they don't need a callout to see this. And if they get into one team they'd have 99% winrate anyways even without comms, like I understand that it sounds unfair but it really doesn't matter. Afaik they even didn't talk about the game if they were in one team, but thats hearsay i wouldn't know for sure.
  12. Bro how is this even still haunting prum. What he is trying to explain is so ULTRA obvious, its just people like you and snave not wanting to understand. Prum, and everybody else in the ranked community, know each other - yes it is a tight nit circle, especially if you're a daily player and play NA and EU like (his names eyesonvelli) nike and prum did. But that doesn't mean they're cheaters. I personally like prum because he is a great player and I have a lot of fun playing against him, this doesn't mean I'd throw for him and I'd hope he wouldn't do it for me - its just straight up boring. People who don't like ranked simply cannot fathem that we actually like it for what it is, and not for the rewards. Good players always know each other because playing against another is the best way to improve. Prum saying he has many friends doesn't mean its people who'd throw for him, it describes a group of people who respect each other for their actions in an arena match. If someone was to throw for prum (correct me if I'm wrong) he'd probably like that person less, at least I would.
  13. Example: "I think Doom Droid is too strong because its basic attacks kill me", or "The burn phase at 4th(?) boss is too tight, i cannot beat it" Things like that, where SPECIFICALLY do you think that EC is overtuned? In any way, HP, damage, damage taken, AOEs or whatever.
  14. Look, I know I'm never going to convince anybody. Just think about why nobody that is really good is clicking. I'll stop about it now.
  15. Surely you don't mind giving an example of where eternal championship is unbalanced? What boss is too strong, and what do you die to? I'm not trying to tell you how to play the game but in my opinion someone clicking is equivalent to them not trying which then invalidates any concern or complaints about balance. You are of course free to disagree with my assessment, but ask yourself this: how many clickers are in echo, liquid and method? Or even in this game, failure, better now, farming components? ZERO. What abput PvP, how many players in PvP are top3 and clicking? One, but he's shady maybe wintrader. No player in these teams was clicking its not by chance (yes I know they all disbanded I have no idea whos the best guilds these days). Again, not saying you should but it is worth it. Muscle memory builds quicker than one might think.
  16. No. Mechanics happen during a fight, balance is a numerical thing. If a boss gets nerfed and now deals only 10% damage but everybody is dying to dispels not happening then this is not a balance issue. Mechanics happen separately from balance, literally Izax example. Give him 50% less HP and nerf Head Cannon by 50% and people will still not clear the boss. The mechanics still have to be played REGARDLESS of balance, if this is not the case the mechanics do not exist. Ok but why die to mechanics then? I do not understand, I am 100% sure that this cannot be a numerical issue. There's no way anybody deals less damage than a 169 guardian tank. It has to be a mechanical issue, people do not know what is going on in the fights and (obviously) have no intention of getting said knowledge. Tell me what fight you struggle with and I'll tell you why without having seen the gameplay. I've been playing with so many people and have recruited so many people over the years, it's obvious when people say they have keybinds to get into a team but then start clicking. I can see it without seeing their screen from the way they move, players who can also see this know what I mean. Also I checked up on sprint master and that is still doable, but I think it could be very tough for a lot of people.
  17. No, they weren't. What about these fights is numerically unfair? I mean where does a boss do too much damage or has too much HP for the mechanics to be irrelevant because it would kill anyway? Stop moving the goalpost, I already showed that stats don't matter by doing it 169 gear. All the numbers you gave in the most recent boss are nice and well but it's possible to beat it with 50k HP, so does it really matter if we have 80k instead of 88k? The answer is no. It is neither, the problem is people can't figure out mechanics and refuse to look up a guide and then, instead of looking the mechanics up, post about it here. This I believe is problematic. Another one of the half truths spread, in actuality we as the player have full control. Most AOEs are targeted on US, just don't be on the companion. Noteworthy here is some healers will teleport to meele range for no reason, DPS companions do not do this. The problem is knowing that it is about to happen. Which should take like 3 tries at most, it's not rocket science, it's just rockets.
  18. I think they would find out that it does not need adjustments. The numbers aren't the issues, these fights are mechanical. The damage or survivability of classes doesn't matter at all. The people who can't beat do not know what the bosses do. Theres nothing more to it
  19. Yep, this is the problem and where do we draw the line then? "Please make eternal championship a cutscene, I have no arms and I can't beat it playing with my nose alone".
  20. Or we play the mechanic which is to kill drake, then noc will enrage and give you like 15s to pick up drakes tool belt. You can throw the stun granedes at noc yourself from that point. The rocket launch can be used to get away in emergencies and should noc not be stunned use any defensive, pretty much anything but shroud and warrior reflect should work. I can see how people can't kill this fight if they facetank noc while drake is up or after drake is dead. But understand that this needs to happen for the mechanic to stay relevant (which it already isn't).
  21. more than that, I can name 20 players who sold top3 accounts alone prob around 1% of the playerbase quit, its a very real estimate, it would be equivalent to 100 people
  22. I do not think there can be a version of the eternal championship that people can beat who are currently not able to. The issue just isn't numbers, it's not a certain boss doing to much damage or whatever, it is a core problem that the player should fix themselves. I can maybe explain it better at with an example, if someone dies to e.g. not interrupting the slow adds in doom droid fight and then being caught in the explosive adds is not a balance issue. It's straight up missing game knowledge, especially if because those droids are weak targets too (by definition not by scaling). I do agree that having a mandatory interrupt in a single target solo fight that wipes someone if missed is not fair for players with slow connection, bad hands or just old age or any problem BUT those adds are weak, which means literally most abilities in the game stun them: force scream, blazing bolts, force storm and many many more, there are plenty options but I bet most people who cannot beat the championship didn't know this or haven't even tried it. But giving up after dying to the same thing 3 or 4 times and thinking that balancing is the issue especially if the player hasn't even tried changing what they're doing cannot be fixed with balancing. The only thing that can be done is make the mechanics so weak and so meaningless there's no point in even trying to play them correctly which then raises the question of why not give us the rewards? If the content is so easy it's impossible to wipe why have the extra step of even doing it? I am 100% sure that if everybody in this thread would've beaten the championship if they'd have spend the time on zakuul doing it instead of here typing. Especially with a swtorista guide open on the 2nd screen.
  23. How about we start with the literal title of the Quest maybe? Yes, this is solo content. Great Question! I suggest doing the intended version of the fights for people who do want a less intense experience: Gear defined as? I took the liberty and defined it as this since none of it (except the mainhand) is really doing a lot, at least in terms of adding armor. The spec of my choice was defense but I would've played the same gear on vigilance although it's just an objectively worse spec for free play. This choice of gear leaves me with 0 armor, which is one of the biggest factors in scaled content (at least that is my opinion), this gear also cuts my HP to about 50% it's normal, already scaled down, value. Okay, here: video - and yes I know you didn't challenge me but you keep bringing up that gear isn't needed, which I took the liberty and proofed you correct! It's uncut and thus a bit long, but at least it proofs I didn't equip more gear. Just skip to the end or something. Blitzing without gear just can't be a thing, obviously if I want to go fast i take the best gear. And the no weapon part... well, now that I think about it for longer, maybe I'll try that tomorrow - it definitely isn't unreasonable for all classes like I initially thought, corruption actually does quite well without a mainhand. Anyhow, on my class of choice - juggernaut, it wouldn't work. In my opinion this proves what @Luciferior or me have been saying. This is not a balance issue, if there are struggles in any way shape or form there is knowledge missing - either about the boss, or about the class. Here the boss I stuggled on the most and why and why i think its a cool boss: This is all experience gained from raiding for years, I do not expect nor should it be expected that someone just on the fly sees what kind of attacks an opponent does (meele or ranged), or their damage type (force or tech, or ig internal but it's pretty whatever). But this really isn't an unreasonable challenge in anything above 320 gear. If people aren't looking for a challenge (which is absolutely fine) then don't do content that has mechanics that need to be played in order to win.
  24. Darvannis. It so bad the raid entrance isn't even on the planet. Yet it somehow gets to be a world we can visit? What happened to Asation!?
  25. Yeah I never doubted that. I just disagree with arsenal being the worst class especially for content like this. Absolutely not, eternal championship is very easy. As I've stated I agree with you that it's just missing class knowledge. Keybinds would still be a lot better regardless.
