  1. Very disappointing to me. Good job ruining good will among day one players who have limited play times. Your customer service department screwed up with this one. Comments from "holier than you" players are not solicited, nor will they be read. This statement was to Bioware. Feel free to make snide comments about me that I won't read since I'm done with this thread.
  2. Since this seems to be the Dev's thread for testing the waters and seeing support for and against MODS: I'm for allowing the UI to be resized and moved to the user's taste. IMO Bioware can do this themselves and they don't need outside programmers. I'm completely against allowing any 3rd party mods, damage counters, gear scores, database compilers or deadly boss mods. They are not needed. They may be wanted by some people, but they will learn to live without them or go back to WOW. Either way, it'll be better for this game.
  3. If it means they keep the UI locked and don't allow mods: Yes. My choice would be to have the combat log locked to the individual player.
  4. Not really the issue. There's too much supply and too little demand. Every character is a high level crafter. Because they can send their companions on grind quests. This devalues crafting in general and removes some of the fun for crafting characters. When everyone is a skilled artisan, it's worthless.
  5. You're not a crafter. You're an explorer/killer. How would you like it if every mission required you o sit there for hours trying new combinations and watching a bar move? I think that would be great. I don't think you'd like it. The fact the crafter's preferred playstyle has been morphed into yours doesn't mean everyone will like it.
  6. I was one off the first 700 weapsonsmith crafers on my DAOC server. I was still level 10, yet maxed out. Everyone in their 40s was running around with my weapons. When I logged in, I was deluged by tells. The other 690ish weapons crafter was furiously trying to craft over me, but couldn't close the gap because I was willing to spend more time crafting. I killed more players than anyone else in that game. At level 10. Because all of the Celts were armed by me. That will NEVER happen for anyone in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Now comes all the posts from people who don't normally craft telling me how great their style of play is and that I should like it.
  7. I am perfectly fine with not using the Legacy system.
  8. Why should it be active across even 1? Taking it further, if it's "essential", why ISN'T it across EVERY server?
  9. Even if you delete every character and start over, you're still linked to your erased character. It's just flawed.
  10. 1) Untie legacy from a cross server name. 2) Adding a /lastname command to let character to pick or not a name. 3) allow multiple people to have duplicate name. I know several husband wife teams that wanted to have husband and wife characters. Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker could not exist in this world. They would have different legacy names 4) Implement Legacy on an account basis, providing additional titles. This would meet the needs of most the player base and still not change the original design intent of providing long time player bonuses and rewards.
  11. If the intent of these forums is to provide feedback to the devs, you do. They will see other wise is a one sided discussion and assume the people who don't provide discussion are trolls. Noise to signal ratio. And the squeaky wheel will get the grease.
  12. I never said it was broken. I said it was a bad design. I'm advocating they change this.
  13. Again, not a why or a real reason.
  14. The purpose of threads like this is to provide feedback to the devs. People advocting for the system need to provide a WHY. They have no argument other than "It's the design". I've already stated why I believe it's bad design and that other games don't need a link. They seem to rely on "the programmers wrote it." That doesn't make it a good system.
  15. I'm not throwing a fit. I'm asking a question. You, however, have been a useful pawn doing my bidding. You bump the thread to the top of forums. I still haven't had an answer provided.
  16. WHY? Why should i pick one that I have to hide. WHy should there be effort made to NOT use a item. It's just bad game design
  17. Nope, don't have any selected. And there's not need to have a name tied to the system at all. it's just bad design.
  18. Or make it "Legacysystemsucks"
  19. Choose a name so I don't use it. What a wonderful implementation. It's stupid. and bad design. No reaosn for it at all.
  20. So in other words, you have nothing further to contribute and no real reasons.
  21. You do know that such a system exists in other games and isn't tied to a last name, but does the same stuff. Having to choose one, not to use it is pretty dumb.
  22. I'm not using the last name. I haven't chosen one. Please explain why I should chose one to not use it.
  23. Why should I? I don't need a last name at all.
  24. Why? Don't need a lastname at all.
  25. I'd like the ability to leave mine blank. I have a 1 word name. Just like Chewbacca did. The pop-up is annoying. And someone told that after 30 days of not picking one, I can't close the pop up and must choose. I guess mine will be "Legacysystemsucks"
