  1. No, absolutely not. Look, I get that PvP can be a drag sometimes. Really, I do. But you get 1 point on a loss. That means that the maximum amount of matches you’d have to play for the weekly is 12. Unless you only have like half an hour a day to play SWTOR, that’s easily doable in a week. I’m all for lowering the difficulty bar in a few places, but this isn’t lowering it. This is burying it in the core of the planet.
  2. Hemophiliac Slash is not meant for PvP. It’s a PvE tactical, and it does very well at helping you shred ops bosses. For PvP, you want Cut To Pieces. Vengeance/Vigilance are not DoT specs so much as burst specs with DoT capabilities.
  3. As long as it seems to bother you, I suppose.
  4. Try Ruffian. It’s a lot smoother in PvE while leveling while offering more AoE and heals.
  5. I promise you can find every single decision in every cutscene on YouTube somewhere. Is it your character? No. Do I care? Also no. You are not the star of the flashpoint, and I don’t care about your character’s journey when it comes to a cutscene I’ve experienced a thousand times. At this point, most of us are looking to speed run these things. Unless you’re specifically looking for a cinematic group, it would be best to recognize that when you queue for group finder.
  6. It wouldn’t be a cool addition at all. Have you ever tried to cross draw guns before? It’s slow and awkward and will get you killed in a firefight. Swords have a grip that your hands can naturally follow in a pronated position, while guns do not. If they added this to the game, I promise it would look as terrible.
  7. The problem with that system is that you’d end up with more people just sitting on defense sats in Domination matches soaking up defense medals. Maybe they’ll shoot at some folks to make up the difference in medals, but I guarantee you’ll see a drop in participation. People would probably just leave death matches or keep suiciding to get it over with so they can go back to Domination matches.
  8. Sure. Because there’s no examples in all of Star Wars of non-Force users killing Force users with superior tech or tactics. None at all 🙄
  9. You’re talking about desync, which is an issue with the game, not Operatives/Scoundrels. It happens with literally Amy movement ability. It just feels like it’s more egregious with Operatives/Scoundrels because they roll more often. Otherwise, I’ve pointed this out before, but Operative/Scoundrels got nerfed in 7.0. They’re still viable, but now killing them isn’t some daunting, insurmountable task. If you’re having trouble with them, that speaks more to your deficiencies than to the class’ excess.
  10. Because many people don’t know whether you’re referring to the direction on their mini-map or the direction their character is facing. The two can become conflated, especially in the middle of a battle. Besides, as long as people know what you’re talking about, why does it matter what language you use to call out? And it’s not like most teams actually heed callouts, anyway. I’ll make callouts, but nine times out of ten, I don’t actually expect help to come.
  11. You say that like it’s a bad thing. It doesn’t adversely affect players and it allows a Sin tank to survive a big hit. I see no issue with that in PvE whatsoever.
  12. Pay attention to line of sight and stay close to it. Try not to let your engine energy dip below half at any time during the match. Stay close to your teammates. It’s hard to keep a protorp lock under pressure, and your team can help with that.
  13. He’s not saying remove the lockout entirely. He’s saying that BW needs to figure out a way to differentiate between physically leaving the warzone and getting disconnected due to a faulty connection. Though, to be frank, it wouldn’t matter if they did because players would just turn off their wi-fi or unplug their cables to fake a disconnect. To be even more frank, I’M of the opinion that the lockout needs to go. The purpose of it was to stop people from quitting warzones. It doesn’t do that effectively. Even worse, it forces people to stay in losing games. When that happens, you get way more players going AFK in a corner or on a node somewhere. I’d rather have someone leave and get a backfill than be stuck with AFK dead weight. I’m sorry that you’ve seen guilds of people who leave warzones to give their friends an advantage. But I’ve seen people stay in warzones and actively sabotage their team to do the same thing. Trolls will be trolls regardless of the lockout, so why punish people like OP for accidental disconnects? Of course, matchmaker issues, class imbalances, desync, and general toxicity all contribute to the problem. But there are enough posts about that in this forum to create an entire dissertation.
  14. 1. You can farm world bosses pretty easily. There are constantly groups looking to farm Nar Shaddaa or Coruscant world bosses. In addition, the weekly mission ‘Priority Targets’ gives you 20 Daily Matrices for killing 4 world bosses. 2. Heroics are also a great source for Daily Resource Matrices. Completing the weekly heroic missions in each planet will also give 20 matrices per completion. I suggest using a stealth toon to cheese some of these missions and make them go faster. 3. Grade 11 Treasure Hunting lockboxes give you 5 matrices upon opening. Those are the easiest and fastest ways of getting Daily Resource Matrices that I can think of.
  15. That’s valid. I think the issue with adding more visual cues is that it could get distracting. If you put it somewhere out of the way, it may go unnoticed. If you put in the middle of the screen or use flytext, you risk obscuring the pilot’s vision or distracting them. The game just needs to do a better job of pointing out the cues, among other fundamental aspects that GSF’s tutorial is woefully unequipped to cover.
  16. There are multiple reasons for why people don’t react fast enough, if at all, to being shot. Often, it’s tunnel vision. They lock onto a target and decide they can kill it before dying. Sometimes, people think they can just turn around address the threat instead of trying to get away. And some newer players will just freeze up and forget their controls for a second. The problem is that veteran pilots like myself get shot a lot. Aggressive warnings can potentially become spectacularly annoying and even distracting. Hell, I’ve known people who’ve found the missile lock beeping irritating enough to actually make them avoid GSF at times.
  17. Your ship flashes, a red arrow appears showing you the direction the shot came from, and your shields or health drop. How much more feedback that you’ve been shot do you need? As for piledriver, I’ve seen three pilots in the six years I’ve played this game who could use it effectively. Three. And they were the kind who could kill you in any ship, so piledriver wasn’t the factor in their success. It’s no more an exploit than guard canceling in a fighting game or animation cancelling in most other MMOs. And if you can consistently use it to kill someone who is actively moving and dodging, congrats…you are a deity and can kill them with literally anything.
  18. The written guide url is actually correct, but here it is without the hyperlink: ht*tps://lithistoswtor.com/2022/03/watchman-sentinel-annihilation-marauder.html?m=1 without the [*]. Hyperlinking won’t work because of the “https” instead of “http” in the site’s name.
  19. Because people who rage quit or queue skip in ground PvP will do the same thing in GSF for the same reasons.
  20. Lol, really? Really?? Do you realize how many nerfs Deception Sin has already undergone? It’s not that hard to kill a Deception Assassin if you know how to manage your DCDs and not get caught out alone. Yes, they have a lot of burst, but so do Maras and Operatives. Seriously, what is this ridiculous attitude where people can’t beat something and their response isn’t to get better. It’s to scream for nerfs. If it were up to people like the OP, we’d all be fighting naked with two abilities and our bare hands.
  21. No. Absolutely not. Operative/Scoundrel is fine right where it is. As far as PvP goes, they had far too many stuns/roots to begin with, so you can afford to lose some. As for the Tactical Advantage stacks, it’s never been a problem for me having two. You just need to be more mindful of it during combat.
  22. To be fair, the AFK detection works fine. It’s just that it doesn’t auto-kick people. Instead, your team has to manually vote kick people who are AFK. While I understand frustration with that system, it’s necessary for making nest bombers worthwhile. Otherwise, people could just not engage them and wait until they’re forced to come out and fight, which puts them in a bad situation. But I digress. Your best bet is to simply get the names of these AFK pilots and report them using the in-game function. But don’t hold your breath on them getting banned or anything. I’m pretty sure it takes reports from like a dozen or so people in a short amount of time before the devs step in.
  23. Yeah, I didn’t really look at many of the passives because I was working when I responded, but yeah. Operative/Scoundrel ain’t what it used to be.
  24. I hate to break it to you, but Operatives/Scoundrels have been nerfed in 7.0. The biggest nerf was the change to Exfiltrate/Scamper. The 100% evasion bonus was reduced to 30% for Concealment/Scrapper, just as it is with Lethality/Ruffian. Plus, the loss of Tactician gear means a return to the 8s cooldown on the ability. Operatives and Scoundrels lost some of their CC. The loss of Tactician gear also means no more double Debilitate/Dirty Kick. Flash Bang is now something you have to choose against Infiltrate/Smuggle (which I'm not counting because we're talking about PvP) and Holotraverse/Trick Move. This means that keeping the CC means losing mobility and vice versa. Sever Tendon/Tendon Blast is now a modification to Crippling Slice/Shank Shot, which means losing out on one of those abilities either way. While Operative/Scoundrel still has heals, healing, in general, is not as effective this patch as it was last patch, especially for DPS classes. Their heals may help them in 1v1 situations, but if they're focused, they melt. By the way, I'm going to point out this thread, where you, Jarbarian, called for less heals, less CC, and less Rolls (the lowered evasion and loss of a lower cooldown effectively makes Exfiltrate/Scamper less effective). You got just about everything that you and multiple other people asked for in this patch. I agree that Gunslinger/Sniper needs some love defensively. But, that just means playing smarter, picking your spots, and learning when to retreat, instead of just rolling up to any fight and popping a mountain of defensive cooldowns while people drop bombs on you in vain. In addition, I have literally never had an easier time of killing Operatives/Scoundrels in PvP. The good ones are still dangerous, but the gap is no longer insurmountable.
  25. People say that it’s a better idea to hear through GSF because it’s faster. Losses still count toward the weekly, which resets twice. Between the gear you get from the weekly and the currency you can use with the vendor, you can be in top tier gear within a week. However, the difference between Noble Decurion and Thyrsian gear is the fact that one is tuned for PvE stats and the other is tuned for PvP stats. This wouldn’t be as much of an issue if you were a dps, but because you’re a tank using tank gear you may want to consider sticking to heroics and planetary weeklies for gearing once your item rating gets high enough (like around 324).
