  1. Add Sven Thrills, Sergeant Thrills, and Sergeant Sven to your list. I’m in the same boat as you. Want to do Hardmare bosses, 5.0 HM Ops, and NiM Ops. I’m a Commando Healer trying to get with a group that does Fri/Sat nights.
  2. Semi-experienced Commando Healer looking for a Fri/Sat night group of individuals to pull HM/NiM content. Not particularly interested in being on a “training team” if you know what I mean. I’m ready to pull competitive content and pull my weight. Also would prefer a steady group that doesn’t have to sub players every week. If y’all have anything. My Discord is Kyle#5202 Thank you.

  5. Trooper characters. ——————————————— Personality and traits: Troopers are a varied lot, so instead of explaining what we’re looking for, better to go with what we want to avoid: 1. The Overranked Soldier A badly written trooper is one that holds a rank higher than the role they will be performing. The guild story is one of combat operations and soldiers deployed into the fray of battle. We aren’t Havoc Squad or “Meteor” (Force be with him/her) it’s not normal for anyone over the rank of CPT to actively be seen on the battlefield. We keep the ranks at SGT and below. 2. The Do-Anything Soldier A soldier who constantly switches roles on the battlefield without regard to service branch or rank, or is usually capable of handling every task they need to do by themselves. If you see the same trooper participating in an infantry skirmish one day, jump into the commander's seat of an APC the next, still later pilot an assault shuttle and finally go on a risky secret mission deep in enemy territory, then you know this trope is in effect. #wedontwantit ——————————————— Armor: Members of Althir Platoon wear all white (White/White Dye) armor that follows the design of the TD-17A Colossus, Trooper’s Exalted, and/or the Stalwart Protector sets. We’ll help you get the armor or something similar, but probably won’t supply you with the dye until you’ve shown us what version of the set you’re going to go with. Looking unified is important to us, but we also don’t want you to hate the way your trooper looks, so some deviations are cool, so long as it doesn’t detract from the overall uniformity of the guild. ———————————————
  6. BACKROCKET BASTARDS: A STARWARS STORY P R E L U D E Valor-class cruiser Peremptory, Republic Fleet, the Core, 26 standard hours after the Invasion of Ossus The bowels of the ship were teeming with the ship's crew making preparations to set space detail and get underway. In the midst of the somewhat organized chaos, the 103rd Battalion of the 66th Infantry Brigade was boarding the cruiser in waves aboard shuttles departing to and from Carrick Station. Hundreds of soldiers were being ushered around and getting acquainted with the Peremptory—one of the surviving Valor-class cruisers of the Republic's dismantled Navy. The Eternal Empire's conquest of the galaxy had a reverberating affect on the Republic and the Sith. Unfortunately, after the Eternal Empire became the Eternal Alliance, the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire picked right back up where they left off...open hostilities. The third war between the Sith and the Republic—if it ever truly ended—was defibrillated on Ossus, a terrestrial planet off the Perlemian Trade Route in the Outer Rim. A contingent of Jedi set up a colony there to avoid total annihilation during the reign of the Eternal Empire. This was something the unbridled Sith Empire could not abide... The invasion of Ossus provoked the Republic’s military to knock off the dust and move to aid their ancient allies. It was no easy move, however. In dejarik, the play would leave the Republic forked. At the time, its forces were little more than capable of defending the systems that made up its democracy. So going to Ossus left the Republic exposed, but not going ran the risk of seeing the extinction of the Jedi Order. And this was something the Republic could not abide... So it was war, whether by fate or the Force, it was war...and the Peremptory was a warship. Therefore, off to war she would go and the mettlesome members of the 103rd would go with her. She would watch over them and they over her, because she was home—come what may—she was home. ——————————————— Contact us if interested. 7. I mean, it was fine when they just had taunts. But Guard should definitely be a tanking ability. Taunts + Guard means why even play a tank in PvP? Just my opinion...especially with a timer on Huttball... 🤷*♂️ All kinds of silliness these days.
  8. Nostalgic indeed. I miss 8v8 ranked. I miss the first 2 years of this game period. /cry
  9. #feelsbad Paying monthly for that hiatus. Can I borrow $15?
  10. Well, from what I can tell atm... Marauders can stay alive longer than Juggs due to better cool downs and combat stealth which means you’ll do more damage in the long run. I know that seems silly given the class design between Jugg/Mara, but it do be like that. Assassin outperforms both of them right now. That said, you get the most variety out of playing the Assassin imo. But it’s probably one of the most difficult to fully play well across all aspects of PvP (i.e. guarding objectives, stealth caps, taunting, 1v1s, huttball, etc...). The Assassin has a pretty significant role in PvP across all maps. The Jugg has the 2nd most variety, like the Assassin you have the option of tanking and objectively can do much more than just deal damage. But the DPS specs for Juggs are outperformed in terms of DPS output by the Marauder right now. However, as a healer, Juggs are mad annoying and offer a lot by way of support with grieving healers...they have a lot of control over certain classes. They are still a higher learning curve than Mara though because again, you’re expected to provide levels of support via taunting, leaping, etc... all the while dealing damage. Mara is full DPS. It’s all anyone really expects from you. Be in the fight and kill things. So imo it is the easiest of the 3 classes you’ve mentioned. That also makes it the most boring. At least for me. So there you go. Just some of my opinions. At the end of the day, dont worry about meta and play what you like most.
  11. Tacticals and set bonuses are definitely worth the grind for PvP. So I’m not sure what you mean...

    Solo Regs

Meh... I hear him, but without cross-server queues at launch, it still would’ve been a problem because there still weren’t enough pre-made groups to fill games. What if a team has a group of 4 and group of 3 in queue? They need 1 person to fill the 8th spot. Having a solo queue only just isn’t going to work. Doesn’t matter if it was implemented now or at launch. It’s just not feasible to punish people that want to play with friends in PvP so a solo gamer can exclusively be with other solo gamers in an MMO playing a game mode that is objective based and lends itself to team coordination. Try joining a queue for an operation that requires a lot of group coordination. It pops very rarely because it’s not a good system to implement. What’s being asked for in this thread is no different.

    Solo Regs

So, let’s say... I pick a group of 8 competitive team PvPers two 4 man groups. The 4 man groups play together often, but the two 4 man groups have never played together before. So the the two groups make a team of 8 for a WZ. Now they’re facing 8 competitive solo PvPers. So 8 competitive team PvPers (two 4 man teams that have played together as individual 4 man pre-mades, but the 2 4 mans have never met or seen each other play) vs 8 solo competitive PvPers Who wins? For the sake of being on the same page, we’ll call competitive as they’re top 96 material on a given class without cheating or anything like that for their respective categories (solo/team). Further clarification, neither team has voice chat, only in-game text chat. Any map, doesn’t matter. Who would you put your money on winning that match? Now I think everyone would agree that the Team players would likely succeed because “the two groups have played together before and it’s essentially 2 pre-mades vs all solo queue folks. No doubt it would probably be a slaughter fest. Even if you take away voice chat and even with the solo queue team consisting of some of the best of the best solo queue players. 1. I think that says something about the power and fun of grouped play, how much more in sync you can be and how graceful PvP can be and how much more competitive it can be if you have two groups fighting one another. But I don’t think that’s really the debate here. 2. I think it shows the disparity of how a top player in solo isn’t going to be the same caliber as a top team player considering the top player from both categories one is facing a pre-made on the other side while the other is not. It’s just inherently more challenging and if you lose it’s not because you randomly got grouped poorly. It’s because you and your team messes up somewhere. Got out of position, didn’t CC correctly, didn’t taunt enough or guard swap fast enough, lost count of where everyone on the enemy team was, etc... Where as a solo loss could also be these things, but it’s harder to say... Again, just my opinion, but could probably prove it if there would be people willing to (but they won’t, because team play is the devil because those team people just beat up on solo players...but you’re the best of the best solo player! Doesn’t matter! RAWR! Pre-mades are for no-lifers! ... sigh...) This has been ongoing since the earliest days of the game as was previously mentioned. So, pre-mades suck and should go away. Roger that. But...before we send them off...one last test if you don’t mind? Let’s pull 8 competitive team players again, now, 1 team top 96 player from 8 separate teams, none of them have played together before. We put the against 8 competitive top 96 solo players again. Still no voice. Any WZ map, doesn’t matter. Who wins? How much would you be willing to bet on your answer. And, would you be willing to test it out? I know that was a lot of rambling...but I’m just a curious fellow. I’m always one to put up or shut up. But me, I’d bet everything on the team top 96 players still demolishing the solo top 96 players by a decent margin based on my experiences with PvP in SWTOR which includes soloing regs (which I still do ), pre-made regs (rarely do, at most a two man), solo ranked (lol, never did it that much but have done it when team ranked wasn’t popping), and team ranked (8v8 and 4v4). I’ve done it all, sans GSF. Team play has by far and large been the most fun. I’d also wager anyone that says differently hasn’t really played with a solid group of players/friends. It really is the best unless you’re just trying to be a recluse in which case, again, why try to change the MMORPG culture to cater your solo player mindset?
  16. Being Force sensitive doesn’t make you a Jedi. The Jedi Order is a faction. Jedi is a title for someone that accepts their beliefs, philosophies, ideals, and way of life. Your logic on midichlorians is completely in error. Canon and Legends will support this. You don’t have to take my word for it, there’s plenty of material you can read on the subject. In context to the story and choices. It’s relevant because you can’t have your cake and eat it too. You can’t turn your back on the Republic and Jedi when they need you and still be a member of the Republic or a Jedi Knight... If I want to be a Republic Trooper I have to show up and do my job. It’s no different for a Jedi... Self-imposed exiles and mysterious disappearances are a thing for Jedi, but this is not the same as CHOOSING to remain the Commander and still be a Jedi Knight it Republic Army Major. It’s just not feasible.

The real reason it’s separate is because in group PvP it highlights players that underperform and people don’t like feeling lesser or not good enough. But that’s the reality for competitive player vs player game modes. Solo queue allows people to hide behind random generated teams. If I lost it’s because I was put with bads or didn’t have a healer or my team didn’t play objectives. If I don’t have high DPS, Prot, or Heals it’s because I was playing objectives or “getting focused” the entire match. Make no mistake friend, the reason people want a solo queue is because they just want to derp through the game without having to implement real strategy, understand their class and all the others fully and how to counter them, know the maps and where to fight that is most advantageous for you, etc, etc... I read this and all I see is, “I don’t want to put forth the effort”. The truth hurts. No PvPer that actually wants competitive challenging games is going to advocate this unless they’re super casual and only play a few hours a week. In which case, I’d hope that person knows that asking MMORPGs to change and be more friendly for someone that plays that rarely is unrealistic and inconsiderate of those who enjoy the genre. The truth hurts. You’re marching in this thread about two queues, but you know it’s the death of grouped PvP and have acknowledged that. It’s just not something I agree with, I also think your derogatory passive aggressive language in your posts is indicative of your inability to care for others and their gaming experience. Because one group being in queue for 4 hours is not game breaking and does not warrant a change to this magnitude, considering it’s the death of PvP guilds and group PvP—which has been a part of MMORPG culture for...ever. Sorry, I just can’t get on board with your line of thinking. Your basically saying there’s no place fit grouped PvP in SWTOR in your opinion. The problem in SWTOR PvP right now is not fixing PvP for solo players. It’s how do we get more people PvPing and how do we get them playing together. Because as everyone knows, grouped a PvP is exactly what’s lacking in SWTOR. Maybe we can work on a solution to that and it would make your request a more reasonable one. 🤷*♂️ Merry Christmas.

M8... you’ve acknowledged premade groups are the minority in the game. Yet you’re still advocating a separate solo queue for WZs knowing fully well that it’ll kill group PvP because nobody that’s not in a full 4 will queue group WZs. What you’re suggesting is absolutely absurd. How about a group of two, can they join your exclusive solo queue? Or are they stuck hoping they can get in a group queue? If you don’t see that this isn’t good for the PvP community, your compassion and desire for healthy PvP is completely skewed to suit your own (selfish) desires. Again. What does your change do to PvP guilds?
  20. This too. The SWTOR community is like 9/10 in game imo.
  21. Haha. Don’t bother with PvP in WoW if you think this community is toxic. WoW Discord servers get insane with the trash talk and bashing. This game has always been low key with “toxicity” compared to my experience with WoW. I know this isn’t WoW, but sometimes perspective is everything. Most PvP game communities are relatively toxic compared to other areas of gaming.
