  6. This would be an ideal solution. Tera provides this functionality in a game engine of a similar vintage and as long as they don't decide to add the guild icon/heraldry to everyone's characters as Tera does, there shouldn't be performance implications. Tera is very prescriptive about the image too. It must be a BMP of a precise size which approximates to 12KB. Assuming generously that 20,000 guilds per server make use of this (unlikely) then that's 250MB storage space on the server maximum. Expanding the "report" functionality would also take care of any concerns regarding inappropriate images. I'm assuming there were technical reasons they didn't take this approach.
  7. The best source of inspiration is probably the vast array of decorations that are already in the game. For instance, I'm sure more of the faction banners could be watermarked and converted for use in this system as the "Detail". Speaking for my own guild, I'd love to see some Dread Master themed symbols and again the existing decorations could be used for this. Just off the top of my head... Holocron of Dread, the various dread master statues, Statue of the Oriconian Warrior, Statue of the Ancient Horror. The same could be done with the Gree decorations and so on. Then there are things such as the holo signs like Bith Musician. The Huttball logos from the Frogdogs and Rotworms banners. Gold-plated hutt. Silhouettes of the various iconic creatures and enemies in the game. Location skyline silhouettes maybe or outlines of iconic buildings in the game. The Sith/ Jedi academies, Coruscant, etc.
  8. Pretty much this. Heraldry needs a lot more work before it really adds anything to guilds. At the moment it looks like a 3rd party add-on and please, please fix some of these most pressing bugs.
  9. Oh, i got confused by American date order. Thought it was 10th Feb instead of October 2nd. Lol. Well, it feels like we've been suffering for a year. Please fix.
  10. What is going on? Almost a year now since this thread started and this problem still hasn't been fixed. Phantom stride/shadow stride is unusable for assassin/shadow tanks because of the massive gap in threat generation in creates due it being in the GCD. This means that tanks have to use force pull and force speed to get to bosses or drop force pull altogether. It's like being back in 3.0 or something. I appreciate that Bioware has a skeleton crew working on this game these days but please, please fix this. Just remove it from the global cooldown. Thanks.
  11. Lots of people in my guild are getting the same problem on Darth Malgus as well. Seems to only be characters on the guild flagship or trying to travel to the flagship. People are getting infinite loading screen on any characters that are on the imperial flagship when they try to log in and they cannot travel to the flagship on any other characters. After a while they get dumped to server select screen. Characters that are on fleet, a planet or a normal stronghold seem unaffected.
  12. Which is a perfectly valid reason for not using voice chat, but wouldn't preclude someone from reading the guides on Dulfy. Just knowing that you have to walk into 2 yellow puddles when you get doom on Dread guards... for example. You can of course spend ages typing out instructions for each boss fight into ops chat keeping 7 people waiting because 1 person didn't want to read a website... If it's a training run for a whole bunch of new people and everyone understands that extra time will be needed for explanations then sure, but usually that's not the case and taking 15-20mins to scan a website guide is not that difficult.
  13. You want to do ops with a guild? I run a guild that does that GF ops (mainly for conquest) on a daily basis and we get new people asking to join on a regular basis. Usually we say, have you read up on tactics or watched any videos? "No". Ok then can you pop into Discord voice chat so we can give you pointers as we go. "Erm, no" That's when the excuses start coming. Now, there may be a 101 valid reasons why someone would not be able to use voice chat to listen. I'm not sure why because if you can listen to game sound why can't you listen to other people talking? No one is asking for you to have a microphone or speak. But fair enough, no voice chat. But the same people over and over again also seem to be unable to just read a guide or watch a video. They want to do ops but they don't want to do the bare minimum effort required to help the other 7 people in the group who also want to complete the op. So there you go, you want to do ops, read up on the tactics, watch a video and join a groupfinder run. People will be very happy to help you. Making a small effort like that will set you a mile ahead of the average pug.
  14. Some of these changes are very welcome. But as GM and senior officer in 2 large guilds that focus on conquest and win planets most week on Darth Malgus, I'm most interested in any changes that will affect the running of GF last boss kills and crafting conquest weeks. Both activities are the mainstay of conquest guilds. Neither of them have been talked about in the changes. I'd be grateful if you could clarify if they will be affected at all. Thanks. 15. I have to admin 2 large guilds and a medium guild and many of the bugs you list irritate me on a regular basis. I agree with most of what you say apart from the figure of 10k for the guild size which I think would lead to mega guilds dominating smaller guilds even more than they already do - I think 2000 would be more than reasonable. But at this point in the life cycle of the game I don't think we can expect most of those bugs to ever get fixed. The last time they tried to improve the guild interface a couple of patches ago they made it even worse. We're talking about a studio that once had Scum and Villainy ready for testing in about 3 days I believe and now has taken more than a year to produce a much smaller operation. Having guild membership based on accounts like a few other MMOs do would be a really nice change but character names instead of account names are coded into every aspect of the game. The amount of work involved would likely be prohibitive. IMO, the priority for BW has to be new content to retain and generate new subs whilst trying not to break anything else or there won't be a game left to bugfix. The current small studio cannot do both particularly well as we've seen over the last year and EA is unlikely pump additional money in. Aintiarna - GM of Untempered Dread on The Darth Malgus
