  1. Yeah, I was pretty miffed when it picked up the entire ground exterior on the guild SH I tested it on... and then discovered yesterday it picked up the entire upper level too, save for the two little rooms. Apparently the feature works based on expansion unlocks, which I'm still amazed the customer service rep didn't seem to know. I've put an embarrassing amount of time, effort, and money into filling out those areas, so there's no way I'm starting from scratch. Still, I appreciate you taking the time to try and help out with this.
  2. That is Tatooine, in the tunnel on the ground level that leads to the homesteads. The fire trap is stuck on the medium narrow hook at the very end of the tunnel, which has the added bonus of being in a cramped space that makes it easy to click on a nearby hook while trying to find a corner you can click.
  3. Unfortunately not, the entire hook being blocked is the problem. It's easy to replicate if you have an empty stronghold or room that you know the reset decorations function will only effect, but you'll wanna be damn sure. Just place a Floor Trap - Fire on a medium narrow hook and turn it so that it covers the whole thing. It'll appear like the hook juts above the grate, but the collision extends to the taller edges that are above it. I've tried clicking at every angle and corner for a long, long time. Nothing seems to work.
  4. Can you elaborate on this or link to any screens or videos of how it works? I've seen this talked about before but never been able to replicate it, I've tried every type of hook the deco could go on with it visible on screen. It always just says "0/1" with the "PLACE" option greyed out. Do I need to own more than one of the deco for it to work? Appreciate the help, I'll try whatever at this point.
  5. Above are the screens of the issue and the two responses to my tickets. I placed a Floor Trap - Fire decoration on a medium narrow hook, and now there appears to be no way to interact with it. I tried to work it out with customer service, and... I don't even know what to say. Everyone's had some bad experiences, but that is a special level of "we're not even pretending this will ever get fixed, you're on your own." I tested the reset room feature that they couldn't be bothered to on a defunct guild stronghold, and it picked up the entire lower level exterior along with that tunnel. This is one of the last areas I'm decorating and I've put countless hours into the rest, so that's not an option for me. I've now spent a good few hours trying to click at different angles and clip myself into the grate to no avail. As you can see from the screen where it clips into the large hook, the piece is slightly taller than the hook dimensions and a good bit wider. But because it's so low to the ground, clipping into it doesn't accomplish anything or give me the camera angle I need. The only thing I could think of is clicking from under the floor, which would involve some clipping beyond my expertise. Anyone got any ideas, or is that that?
  6. Wow, this thread just keeps becoming more and more fascinating. The entitlement argument in particular, since literally no one has suggested these things be given out for free. Just like no one has suggested Bioware should be coming for your other 'Badges of Loyalty'. For me personally, the suggestion of making the companions potentially available for sale came before I truly understood the depths of desperation so many of you hold to keep them exclusive. And then, out of nowhere, the anecdotes about people suing because they spilled hot coffee on themselves started pouring in. It just seems so utterly unrelated and off point. Is this maybe about way more than exclusive rewards to some of you? Have you somehow equated this debate with any number of injustices where 'stupid' people have triumphed, and packed your obviously significant pent up angst towards how unfair life can be into this frivolous argument? Cause if you read back, most of the PEOPLE who SUGGESTED they make COMPANIONS available AGAIN didn't type like THIS. And I have actually seen some well-reasoned and fair counterpoints, but the majority of the thread has been steamrolled by slippery slope nonsense where everyone gets the Founder title, or strawman arguments comparing the opposition to those court cases your lonely aunt forwards emails about. For my part, I thought it seemed a shame to lock away HK and Nico forever since they're characters people are enthusiastic about. I'd wager I'm not the only one that got into the game after The Force Awakens reminded me how much I love the SW universe, and lots of those people probably missed out on both. My own thinking tends more along the lines of 'it'd be nice to see them get another shot' than 'Bioware needs to teach the entitled masses the meaning of consequences'. To the few of you who actually bothered to reason out why exclusive rewards can be an effective business model, I did find that interesting. I played free for awhile, and I've found the game vastly more enjoyable since subscribing, but I've never tried playing as 'preferred'. If the occasional major subscriber reward is enough to suck people back in, there's something to be said for it. The question is whether they stayed subscribed, or just went back to playing free once they had their companion.
  7. Right, and as I've said before a thing being exclusive for an extended period of time is often enough to satisfy a person. But given the amount of times so many of you needed to hold down the shift key while typing it, I can see that's not the case here. But if enough people *do* think reward A and reward B aren't equal, and it could be handled better? Then I stand by my previous point, doing the smart thing should take precedent over 'this is the way it is and has always been'. You're absolutely right about that last part. When I said they should listen to the community, I meant it, not that they should listen to what I think is fair. And given the... uh... let's say 'interesting' fact that EXCLUSIVITY is so very important to so many of you, it's apparently not as cut and dry as I thought. God, I hope you're right.
  8. Actually, I'm not. I addressed both the future rewards and the 'exclusive' thing in the very block of text you quoted. But hey, what the hell. Much as I personally couldn't care less about other people getting to play that HK mission and actually subscribe for the standard subscription benefits/because I enjoy the game, I get that these concepts are very important to some of you. And no one was suggesting anyone get anything for 'free'. Only that some things, namely companions, should maybe some day be available again at some cost after us subscribers have had an appropriate amount of time to lord them over everyone. The point is that not all of the subscriber rewards are remotely equal, and the ones that are largely the topic of this thread were offered for a single month's subscription like the majority of the others. I don't buy the ridiculous slippery slope argument that if any past rewards are made available then they all have to be. I'd rather a company use common sense and listen to the community than rigidly set their practices in stone.
  9. I guess the thing that's amazing to me is how much more passionate the people that don't want someone else to have the same toy as them are. And for those of you who want to get pedantic about the word 'exclusive', unless they added 'forever and until the end of all time' afterwards they're not exactly destroying their credibility. Plenty of people already got excluded for an extended period of time. The fact of the matter is that they'd almost certainly make more money selling said companions on the market than they'd lose from a handful of people throwing a fit. And plenty of people would still sub when they offered up similar rewards in the future, cause most of them are probably more concerned with their personal enjoyment than whether or not it might someday be accessible again. I do agree that having HK, Nico, and any of the rewards I'm aware of don't seem to offer any major mechanical advantage, and that not having them doesn't significantly detract from the game. I'm just more inclined to hope the people who missed out on them get another chance in the future than I am threatened by newcomers having access, or god forbid someone who was fully aware at the time not suffering the 'consequences'.
  10. The thing is, it doesn't seem to work out that way. I think most would agree that the entire lackluster assortment of HK paraphernalia combined doesn't equal out to the permanent HK companion, but every little piece technically cost the same: One month of subscription. That doesn't encourage people to stay subscribed, that encourages them to subscribe on specific months. I'd wager that most people that stay subscribed do so primarily for full access to the game. Getting a companion several months earlier than everyone, for free, and in addition to all the other subscription benefits still seems like a pretty sweet deal. No one loses anything if they eventually throw major things like that on the market for 2400+ CC, and you'll still have a slew of other stuff to prove that you've been playing longer.
  11. Man, I came to this thread to figure out if it was possible for a newcomer to ever get all the fancy special companions, and there's nothing more welcoming than seeing droves of people passionate about denying content to each other. Has it occurred to some of you that new people might join the game, which is good for its overall quality and longevity? That some of them might become excited for characters they were previously unaware of, and be willing to pay for them? That people paying money into the game is also good for its quality and longevity? I get that these things were offered up as rewards, and that should mean something, but six months is a long damn time to most people. After that period, and with an additional fee, most reasonable types would be comfortable giving the other kids a turn at their special toy box. As someone who by a fluke got into the game right when the HK reward was offered and just met the character, I sincerely hope that people who discover the game later than me eventually get to keep him in their crew. I'd wager that most people sub because they enjoy the game, not because they want to lord their digital possessions over everyone who missed out on them.
  12. We should be getting them tomorrow, apparently. https://help.ea.com/ca/article/swtor-share-the-love-february-2016/
