  1. I was having problems with the launcher just stopping at Updating... Could get it to work by using Task Manager to end the SWTOR tasks and starting the launcher again. but after doing the following so far It goes through to PLAY. If the SWTOR game is not located in C:\program files(x86)\electronic arts\Bioware\wtar wars - the old republic\ Then the Bitraider might not be finding it. There is a config files in the BITRAIDER folder that the InstalledBase and InstalledPath have to point to where it is the game files are located.. x:\game location\electronic arts\.......... BRConfig_swtor_swtor is the configuration settings file. In the Bitradier\config folder
  2. The only antivirus I have is Windows Defender and it is not enabled. When I added the launcher. exe and swtor.exe to the Firewall exceptions, it added them as PUBLIC only. That seems to be the problem somehow. Since the XBOX settings are both PUBLIC and PRIVATE. So added the PRIVATE for the laucher and swtor in the Firewall settings. So far it launches cleanly and no longer stops at UPDATING. ---- Spoke too soon. Stopped at UPDATING again. Need to use Task Manager to End Task and restart . Then goes through to PLAY.
  3. Here is a list of file checks for Steam users and the same could be done for non-Steam users Steam needs 150 GB of Free Space minimum. PC based SWTOR needs 75 GB. 1. Verify Integrity of Games Files 2. Repair Library 3. Create More Free Space on Your Computer 4. Uninstall and Reinstall After Making Space Additional Tips https://swtorista.com/articles/steam-game-disk-write-error-fix-guide/
  4. I got the stopping at the Update. When I check the SWTOR files with Task Manager it says the launcher is a 32 bit version. I thought SWTOR was updated to 64 bit. Could be a problem on an i5 Windows 10 Pro 64 bit system ? Also 5 versions of the launcher were there. Ending the SWTOR programs using the Task Manager and restarting again, bypasses the updating into the PLAY zone. Seems like the checking for a new version of the launcher is not downloading a new version of the launcher. Is there a program to read the launcherdiag fille? *.tgz --- Next Day ------ Logged in Today and got stuck at the launch screen. Said searching for a new version of the launcher. Used Task Manager to end SWTOR.exe and the 5 versions of the launcher (32 bit) Checked the SWTOR folder. Found the launcher was not there. Ran the Launcher repair utility. It reinstalled the launcher. Now getting nothing starting up, just the windows background. So could not run the repair using [GUIDE] Client Repair Scan - Answer HQ (ea.com) Ran the repair from the SETUP program. Success. Some other files including the launcher I found gone, must have went missing the last time I was running the game.
  5. Try looking over these. I started having the same problem again today. https://forums.swtor.com/topic/929345-launcher-infinitely-selfrestarting/page/5/ GL
  6. Is this already avaiable? Save GameSpace . Saving the game settings, UI, etc. So when transferring to another Computer or O/S , would make things easier. Many progrsms have this calling it Save workspace. Basically the program will look for any workspaces saved if you want to load up where u last left off. Saves on having to copy config files to the proper locations. Many
  7. Never had this Stuck on updating until I switch to a PC with Windows 10 Pro yesterday. Never had this on Windows 7 Pro. It was running fine yesterday. Today after the update got the "Stuck on Update." Although lately had been getting a C1 error. But if I clear that the main SWTOR still is running instead of disappearing now. So far Windows 10 stops properly , while Windows 7 has some Issues closing. Started using Task Manager to end the task with Win 7. Did many of the usual stuff to get going. restart, repair, got a big Pink Hexagon, restart, good to go.
  8. When I have had issues, usually a restart helps. If not cleanup the registry with CCleancer. CCleaner generated a list, some look like SWTOR Appdate problems, will take a closer look if keep getting this "updating problem" But when it got stuck on updating ..... when u try to exit it will say updating do u what to quit updating .... I goto the desktop and load task manager and end the SWTOR task now, instead of stopping the updating. Stopping the updating , It would not load at all (so I did the repair with the download utility, does not help??) . Launched SWTOR. Then it did not even goto updating and went straight to PLAY. A few times had to do this twice. This seems to work for me. If stuck on "Updating", use Task Manager to end task the "SWTOR.exe". Run the launcher again. Rinse and repeat. Seems to at least works after 2 times if need the extra try.. ----------------- Others have tried: a DNS Flush https://grok.lsu.edu/article.aspx?articleid=19328 ------- DX- Files The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime installs a number of runtime libraries from the legacy DirectX SDK for some games that use D3DX9, D3DX10, D3DX11, Also run setup-dx? in the folder holding those files. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 ----- Another possible solution that had been post was to make sure Net.Framework is upto date. I think it is done during normal windows updates. ----- Also there are 2 folders that hold the SWTOR game and not everyone has the game on the C - Drive. C-Drive holds the UI, Keybindings and other setup files, even if the game is installed on another Drive. Local Disk (C:) Users/PCname/AppData/Local/SWTOR/swtor/settings //Local/SWTORPerf/ --------- SWTOR not Launching After Clicking Play https://swtorista.com/articles/swtor-not-launching-after-clicking-play/ SWTOR 64-bit Guide https://swtorista.com/articles/swtor-64-bit-guide/ EA - Common 64-bit issues https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/Common-64-bit-issues/td-p/12428759 --- My issues are from migrating from Windows 7 64 Bit Pro that was still running SWTOR despite now needing Windows 10 with a few issues, some things not initalizing and not closing properly. which required using task manager for a cleaner close. When Migrating I copied everything to another SSD drive naming the folder GAMES. But left the AppData on the C:(local) Drive. Setup a new launcher icon on the desktop. So it has the right location. Ran all the Windows 10 updates. Forgot to approve the Defender Firewall for the launcher and swtor retailclient.. Just left with getting stuck on "Updating" I think I have to allow private and public in the firewall like the other programs already there???. Currently just public which is what it applied when added. ??answer Public is safer When you want to boost security, go ahead and change back to the Public option. Simply follow the instructions above and when you get to the last step, select Public instead of Private.
  9. I had this problem occur more frequently lately. I just reStarted SWTOR again and if that did not work Reboot PC and restart again usually worked. But since I stopped the STEAM client from loading up at start-up, I seem to not get this error any longer. The STEAM and SWOTR client maybe have conflicts in the resources they use. So if you also use the STEAM Client or some other client that could be the problem.
  10. What are the chances of Windows 7 64 bit still being supported? Still working for now Regular servers.
  11. Try running the launcherDiag then the LaucherRepairUtility. Locate in the EA/Bioware/SWTOR folder The launcher always gets stuck on the msg window for me when my subscription runs out and suppose to laucnch the default browser to renew my sub. So I have to go to SWTOR website separately and sub then launchRestartMsg otherwise I get the sounds of waiting. Those are the only three utilities in the SWTOR folder
  12. Not only that but it does not even tell you your subscription has expired. Or even 0 days left.
  13. I was looking around in the SWTOR folder at the Utilities. LauncherRepairutility looked interesting but want to install the program . So I skipped that for now since the launcher is working. launcherrestartmsg application looked promising. Clicked on that. This utility must have changed the start msg from Subscription expired/ Subscription changed to the normal start msg. So now I am able to play again. But the Initial problem of being Stuck on the startup screen due to Expired Subscription, is still probably there.
  14. Stuck on the Start up Screen with the Gears turining. Can hear the sound of my subscription has expired and my sub has switch to FTP status. LOgging in to SWTOR .com and added another 60 Days. Restarted the Games and still stuck on the Start up screen. Probably now wanting to inform me I subscribed and the extra screen along with that. So NOW What? Regards SS
  15. Still can not login. Your server status for all is RED
