  1. Yes and no. Is it doable? Heck yeah, I did 2 on my Operative, and I'm relatively average as a player. I did have to self heal quite a bit though, so I have 2 concerns about you doing it on a Knight/Warrior: 1. You'll have to constantly kite and either kill trash mobs quickly, or apply some sort of stun on them while you beat the actual boss down. You also need to keep looking down at your feet to avoid AoEs. 2. Will you be able to use enough defensives and in a way that won't have you dead due to burning through them too quickly? Probably my biggest issue is gonna be your companion though. Without a single doubt, melee companions are doomed in the Star Fortresses because they run into enemies, and a lot of them have AoEs that will kill them off insanely quickly if you don't keep a constant eye on them. I had to switch from a rank 50 Lana to rank 43 Kaliyo simply because Lana kept suiciding against bosses and healing herself instead of me. You could also stand to get a bit better gear, the Heroic version was definitely intended for lvl 75 characters. But honestly, just give it a try (and definitely bring a ranged companion). Good luck and happy hunting!
  2. If I may ask a genuine question: is it actually worth it? I've watched videos or just flat out checked out all recent romances (including the return of the vanilla ones) and I can honestly say that I've never been this uninterested in romance as I've been while watching those (and I'm a lady who likes her romances). To all the Arcann lovers that screamed and shouted and demanded that he become a romance option: did you have fun with his 2 minute long cutscene, out of which 1.45 was the same generic one as the non- romanced Arcann? Each of these 15, 20, 30 second romances take away from time spent working on the actual story, time on refining what's already there. If they HAVE to work on romance, I'd rather they pay proper homage to existing romances than just creating new, shallow, 30 second long ones. Anyway, good luck and happy hunting! (I'll be gone in 4 days so thank you to anyone who bothers to respond to me- if I don't talk back it's most likely because I simply can't)
  3. Didn't CXP get nerfed with the new guild update? You should be getting 5% or whatever the ACTUAL number is less than before. Good luck and happy hunting
  4. +1 even though I'm not even from that part of our planet. It's maybe unreasonable to want an Australian server, but it's completely normal to want AT LEAST a West Coast one. I just hope that your crusade succeeds. Good luck and happy hunting!
  5. Generally I agree with that, but I wonder who decided that Rampage conquest goals needed the nerf- killing 300 enemies for so few points is quite the disappointment. Anyway, good luck and happy hunting!
  6. This is a bit of a crapshoot question: story wise doesn't make any difference- it's all about the gameplay aspect- decide which playstyle you prefer and go with that. We can't exactly tell you what YOU would prefer Anyway, good luck and happy hunting!
  7. MAIN quests get removed. Planetary and side missions remain. Good luck and happy hunting!
  8. I mean Mandalorians don't really like Force users...? So it's not hard to imagine them chasing off a FU Mando. As for going on to the Sith, I have a hard time seeing someone with Mandalorian upbringing (combat and passion for aggression) being interested in joining the Jedi, so there goes that...? Good luck and happy hunting!
  9. But it was in the patch notes...? Oh well, I'm not gonna log in until I know that it's safe to come out of hiding xD Good luck and happy hunting!
  10. Legit terrified of logging in right now- yes I do have a few throwaway characters, but I'd rather not break my entire game (also I'm dying a little bit inside that I can't use the x2 CXP event). Anyways, good luck and happy hunting!
  11. Dunno how I feel about all of this: Yes, I wanted everything post Ziost to be a bad acid trip, but at the same time this is kind of like spitting in our faces after 3 years of bad writing to be told "All that happened before this? All the choices that you made? F that- we gonna drag you back to Makeb era of writing- not like any of you actually enjoyed being independent!" Also knowing that no matter what, the conflict will NEVER be resolved in this game, no matter how many planets we liberate/take over doesn't inspire me to hop on this particular hamster wheel. Still salty that my ex-Empress is now gonna be a droid's lackey. I just feel like the second that they put us on top of the Galaxy, the only way was down, and it's gonna be an ugly, bumpy ride. To those of you who look forward to this, I hope that the expansion will give you everything that you hoped for. For those of you who're not pleased with the way that the story is going- we shouldn't bash on it until we actually see it. And just generally to everyone- good luck and happy hunting!
  12. I found it hilarious- when I started played the game years ago, I still hadn't seen the movies, so when the JK story started throwing all of the lingo, I was confused half the time- I imagine now that my character felt the same way! XD I think that Tython is the weakest starting planet- side missions, planetary missions, overall conflict is just so... Bland. Also the fact that it's the planet with the smallest amount of heroics does irritate me. Anyway, lighten up, it's just a media that's long beyond being changed in any way- might as well enjoy the good bits! Good luck and happy hunting!
  13. It goes something like this: Illum -> Rise of the Hutt Cartel -> Oricon -> Forged Alliances -> Shadow of Revan -> Ziost -> KotFE (Knights of the fallen Empire) -> KotET (Knights of the Eternal Empire) -> Iokath -> Crisis on Umbara -> Traitor among the Chiss -> Nathema -> Ossus (starting from tomorrow). All the expansions can be activated from your ship. Good luck and happy hunting!
  14. I should apologise if my words came off as accusations. Unfortunately, I've dealt with the "Sith never show mercy, hurr Durr!!!11!!" or "A Jedi that makes a Dark choice even if it's the more logical one needs to be killed off!!!!!!!!" It's just automatic reaction in me at this point to point out that full Light or Dark is just... Insane. I don't presume to tell people how to play their characters, but if you're gonna RP and "immerse" yourself in a story, you can't do illogical things then force others to deal with your BS (it is likely the main reason why I hate doing Imp side RP). Anyway, rock on and happy hunting!
  15. I never play my toons Light or Dark- I find that a shallow way to RP. My characters have personal motivation, their own pet peeves and things that they like. I find Light characters to be so naive that I simply can't believe them to be capable of anything other than talking. Dark characters on the other hand feel like toddlers throwing temper tantrums, thus I cannot believe that anyone would give them power or would follow them. Fact is that all the enemies that we faced who qualified as Dark were charismatic and inspired almost maniacal loyalty in their followers not just due to their powers, but also they knew when to praise, when to punish, when to stroke someone's ego and when someone would be more useful as asset rather than as a corpse- THAT is why I find Dark 5 characters unrealistic and pointless. Anyway, good luck and happy hunting.
  16. As an Operative Medicine main (done most HM raids as one), the worst thing that you can do is get defensive stats. Frankly, you have the best PvE defensives out of the healers- extremely short cooldowns, easily spammable, and you don't sacrifice effectiveness to use them (unlike a certain bubble from Sorc that you're forced to channel). You have the most powerful defensive in the game that you can trigger twice every 10 seconds. Roll makes you immune to any CC or damage while it plays the animation- you can LITERALLY get away from things that the other healers can't- also your energy management is non-existent and your cooldowns are broken (also only 2 channels). Operative simply requires a lot of concentration, awareness of when damage spikes are about to happen, so you can outheal them. It's the hardest healing class not because it's bad, but because it's not as much of a heal bot as the other two are (Sorc to a lesser extent than Merc). Anyway, I wish you good luck and happy hunting.
  17. Let me trigger everyone here a little bit before I get to the main point of this thread, and of my (subjective) opinion. It's a sad day when JK is considered good writing- it's very unoriginal, very JRPG-ish in the "Chosen one" mentality that it offers, and it's overall very linear in it's story progression (whether you're good or evil, you basically do the same things, you're simply more murderous and reluctant while you do it). Despite how much people praise the vanilla class stories, it's like they all forget just how weak most Rep side stories actually were. JC... The less said the better (full of holes, basically over glorified baby sitter). Smuggler started out strong, only to fall apart as new writers took on the story from chapter 2 onwards. I've already talked about JK. Trooper... For what it's meant to represent it's decent, sadly (again, MY opinion) it just plays out as Mass Effect in SW universe (chapter 1- chasing a traitor while a bigger picture is slowly revealed, showing us that the threat is much bigger than we expected. Chapter 2 is amassing a team of experts for a "suicide mission", chapter 3 is just a bunch of cameos and persuading people to help you out to eliminate the final threat- ofc the General is a considerably smaller threat than the Reapers). Imperial stories also occasionally suffer from glaring plot holes, but overall they are more cohesive, more thought out, and offer a tad bit more freedom of choice (ofc, can't ignore the masterpiece that is the Agent story with it's multiple endings, which were promptly made worthless by the expansions). Now, onto the actual topic at hand: KotFE/ET were PAINFULLY clearly made with FU (Force users) in mind. I cannot and shall not forget the moment when my sniper used the Force to create a Force attuned sniper rifle. Overall, finding that Papa Valky found my slightly-less-intelligent-than-a-cucumber Bounty Hunter "The most interesting person that I've met in 20k years"(or however the quote goes) was frankly baffling and hilarious. The fact that Satele and Marr, much less the ENTIRE Galaxy put their safety and faith in the hands of my monkey of a person makes it even more sad. Being able to breach Vay-bae's defenses and shooting her point blank, then promptly defeating Valky when he's at his strongest... Yeah let's not continue. My point is that the story was clearly written with JK/SW, and to a lesser extent JC/SI in mind. I was initially excited to get away from the Rep vs Imp story line (got boring and cliche to do the same thing over and over), but the last few expansions were so poorly written that I wish that when 6.0 starts, we'll find out that everything starting from KotFE onwards was simply a bad acid trip and we've just escaped Ziost. Anyway, now that I've probably managed to anger people, I wish you all a good day/night and happy hunting!
  18. Men like taming dangerous women, thus the femme fatale trope in most movies. It gives them a power rush, knowing that they can have a woman who can crush their windpipe without lifting a finger on her knees. A lot of women like redemption arcs- the thought that "He wuvs me soooooo much that he'll stop being a murderous psychopath with the powers of my hot body". Now that I've probably managed to trigger every person on this forum, I'll make my grand exit. P.S.: In regards to Zash, a lot of my male friends like her because "I don't know if she wants to f*** me or kill me- it would be the ultimate rush", so you can't accuse me of pulling things out of my fine buttocks. As for women, just watch all the movies where bad boys that glomp onto anything that moves suddenly fall in love with the shy, plain chick because they "see beyond the surface". There's a huge market for that sort of plot, therefore that's what writers capitalize on. Peace out folks.
  19. I feel like the entire format of the stories never really fit well with the MMO genre of games. Everything is just a tad bit too... Stretched out. Stories kinda lose cohesion with all the side missions, Flashpoints, operations, etc. In fact this might be the only MMO in the world that actively discourages grouping up. I just think that this game would have been better if it was single player with a multiplayer mode, or if group content was given more focus (and no, this year doesn't count because all we got was a few Flashpoints that are solo-able, and a single PvP map). To get to the original point- the reason why "classic, traditional" Light vs Dark doesn't work anymore is because canonically, in SWtoR at least, we now have shades of grey. To fully go back to the old SW, we'd need to dismiss everything related to Revan, Valkorion, etc. And seeing as to the fact that Revan is now being considered canon by Disney themselves... Anyway, good luck and happy hunting!
  20. Was putting the armor on the Cartel Market for 2000 CC planned as well? I don't remember seeing that in the notes.
  21. I suggested (as a joke mind you) that they create 5 different stories, with the big changes being in Force users vs NFU (as in depending on what your toon is, the story flow is drastically different). Force users wage the "traditional" war, while NFU PARTICIPATE in it but it isn't their main focus. A 5th story would be the neutral, criminal faction for those who don't wanna be tied down on their NFUs, while the Imperial/Republic ones wage war AND try to take down the criminal faction. This would make the expansion very repayable since you have more perspectives and stories to see, and they all can interconnect in one way or another to ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE OTHER CLASSES EXIST. It would satisfy the traditionalists and the neutral faction players. Of course, this is just my opinion, I'm not saying it like it's a fact, and you're all free to comment on it or just straight up say that it's trash. All I wanna do is move this conversation to a more... Positive direction, where our creative juices can flow. Good luck and happy hunting
  22. Problem is that the writers wrote themselves into a corner. You simply cannot go further up than we have already, so at this point all we can do is roll down. I think that whoever was writing KotET did it with the mentality that it's gonna be the final expansion for the game. Everything afterwards was damage control, and not a good one at that. This upcoming one is gonna be even more of the same. But in the mean time, we should not be starting wars with each other- we're a community that loves playing the same game- being harmful to each other only helps the studio because we're blaming each other instead of them. And even then we should not throw gasoline over BW before we see the new content. Anyway, good luck and happy hunting.
  23. Before you start citing your numbers as complete and absolute truth, let's discuss dailies and weeklies that give a hefty amount of UCs as well. Let's assume that you wanna do easy mode farming and you go for TR. Let's assume that you'll pick up the daily (4 matches, gives 75 UCs, wins count as 2 played matches) and you pick up the weekly (20 matches, same rules apply). 4 matches can be easily done in 20 minutes if you do it during prime time. 5 days in a row = 375 UCs, plus the 250 from the weekly, plus however much you got from the actual matches. This (at worst) is gonna take you 1,5-2h for the entire week, on one toon. Now do it on 4 toons per week, and watch your UCs grow in no time- also don't forget that you get UCs from all the crates that you'll end up dissolving. Don't skewer the math in your favor to make a point, it just makes you sound ignorant. Good luck and happy hunting.
  24. So you're basically saying that cross faction breaks your immersion, but without it, you'd only ever get other imperials to fight (and once every 50 matches you'd end up against Reps)... So you killing Siths, agents and mercs over and over didn't break your immersion...? Especially in maps where you're fighting civil wars or such against members of your own faction...? Or somehow doing the same Flashpoints/Ops/Warzones over and over doesn't break your immersion? You don't want cross faction anything, but you don't care that one side is basically cut off from most group content because there aren't enough players to even fill an ops group? Here is a small example- on Darth Malgus, in "prime time", you get roughly about 60-70 people on Rep side. In theory it sounds ok-ish, but the second that you start looking to form a PUG, you realize that about 90% of the population can't/won't join a raid. Fair enough, you should still have enough people to form a raid, right? Except... Most, if not all of them are DPS-ers. Trying to find a tank or a DWT (damage with taunt) on Rep side in prime hours can take over 30-45 minutes, and God forbid that someone was there literally a second before you, and took the only tank on fleet for their own raid. Now imp side on the other hand usually has over 200 people, with more constantly showing up. And even with those numbers, PUG-ing takes a while because tanks have turned into unicorns. Allowing players to join cross-faction in multiplayer content that is NOT connected to the main story in any way should be allowed (no imps killing off Kilrain, or Reps taking down Revan in the Foundry), but you gotta accept the fact that one side is significantly weaker than the other, and we should not be punishing people for wanting to play a Jedi, or a trooper or whatnot. I have a Scoundrel healer that I rarely play because if I try to PUG a raid, I will have to wait more than an hour to gather a group. And HM content? HA! On the other hand, imp side takes me 10 minutes at most to form a full group for SM or HM PUGs. I'm not telling you how to feel, or what to think, but sometimes you have to consider the overall health of the game vs personal desires. Besides, if the people in slave outfits taking lightsabers to the face don't break your immersion, a few people dressed in browns and greens shouldn't really distress you to the point of wanting to quit the game. Good luck and happy hunting.
  25. Here is what I've understood so far, so please correct me if I'm mistaken. Initial weekly purchase of the crystal/shard/whatever is gonna cost 500 UCs, with subsequent ones costing 1000. From what my PvP buddy showed me, he had over 50k of them, and he's a casual one, others have claimed to me to have over 70k of them (I haven't seen it with my own eyes, so can't verify it). On average, one gear piece is gonna require between 2000 and 3500 UCs. That means that an entire set (14 pieces because no main and off-hand yet?) makes the cost between 28 and 49k. Both of those were within purchase from the get go for my "casual PvP" buddy. You're gonna say "Well I don't have that many UCs". Well, here are my suggestions: A. Farm them- PvP gives a LOT of them. You don't even need to be that amazing B. Start stacking up t4 crates and hope for luck once the patch goes live. Do Master mode Flashpoints, do story mode operations, PvP, GSF- whatever floats your boat. You have more than enough time to get ready, and if you tell me that you only play once a week for 2 hours or something, then you should not complain about not having BiS gear- like everyone else, you need to work for it. My real gripe with 5.10 is story direction, but I'll wait before I rant about it. What I would have REALLY liked was cross-faction operation queues, and the ability to do raids with people from the opposite faction. If I wanna do raids on Rep side, I either have to wait 10 hours to get all roles filled out, or I have to switch to imp side. Anyway, good luck and happy hunting.
