  1. These packs you can buy in the Cartel Stores, are they like scratch off lottery tickets?
  2. MMOs is a gaming service and not a game you buy, good service will always succeed.
  3. Sorry to tell you this but Guild Wars 2 is not much better.
  4. To my understanding this game will go F2P before the next expansion or maybe a little after.
  5. Let's be fair, they have been doing for 7+ years and in the beginning they had the same problems.
  6. I have to be honest, I don't believe any MMO developer can do anything about the community, it's up to the players to do that. There are MMOs out there that have very strong communities but the games are not very good, however I would say part of the reason for some of the lack of interaction is that the game is a little too single player friendly.
  7. I think some people think that Sandbox MMOs are greater than Theme Park MMOs, but I believe that one is not better than the other just different. What MMO players do crave is something that is in between the two genre of MMOs. 1. A world that is non-static but with define direction, however this does not mean being guide by the hand 2. Huge customization on all levels of gameplay 3. Decisions made by players that has a real impact to the environment 4. Well define endgame, but with huge amount of choices on what they are
  8. They just need to add the ability to add a cross-server buddy list, this way if you find players you love playing through a cross-server LFG you can continue to play with them.
  9. To say that a player is lazy because they want a LFG tool show me how little you know about the reason why players want it. A LFG tool allows players to play the game without having to wait around not skip planets or story content, in fact it would allow more players to see more content. I level a Trooper from 1-50 and only saw two flash points (the first and second one) not because I'm lazy but because I didn't want sit around in a spacestation spamming general chat for a group instead of skipping content. And in case you didn't realize it but once you hit 50 there are no planets to skip.
  10. The LFG was the greatest feature added to WoW, without it I don't think many would have stayed around.
  11. I think the features coming in Legacy with 1.3 will add to features for the casual player.
  12. Can you give a small example of the kind of features that a causal player would want? Right now most (IMO) causal players don't have issues with the game, it's mostly those "hardcore" endgame players.
  13. There are only two things that are hurting the game subs right now: 1. Lack of a good LFG matchmaking system 2. Lack of endgame content The good news here is both of these things are very fixable.
  14. Casual players are the ones supporting this game right now.
  15. I think what I'm hearing in this thread is: "It's my Legacy and I want it NOW!!!!!" I watch too much TV
  16. The reason for the lost of most subs (IMO) is the lack of a good LFG matchmaking system from the start, once the system is in play most will return because of it. Right now finding players to group (mostly for flashpoints) with is not very easy or time costly.
  17. I do have to agree with this second point, every guild I ever join was from pugging with people from my own server, LFG system or not. I still believe a cross-server won't hurt the game that much, however it would be smarter to start with a same server system first then move to a cross-server.
  18. So the real issue is that players who want to group up manually are hurt by players choosing to use the cross-server system or is it limiting the amount of players from within the same server? I'm just trying to understand the root of this issue.
  19. I would like to see a Heroic Group Queue added to the game, for example if I pickup a Heroic 4 quest I'm put into a queue for a 4 man group and every player who picks that quest up is thrown into that same queue unless there are 4 players. At which time we given an option to join the group for that said Heroic 4 quest, if someone decline then the next player in the queue would be given the option. You would be removed from the queue if you leave the area/planet and also would be put in it if you enter the area/planet with the quest. Of course this would be something that you can turn off or on.
  20. So far nobody has really presented any real facts that a cross-server LFG would ruin a game. It seems like the main reason is the system will produce bad people/players, but the truth is no tool can make anyone bad because they were bad from the start. I believe in the 95 / 5 Rule which is 95% of all people are good, it's the 5% that is the loudest, the rudest and the reason we need a police force in the world. Some of you have allow that 5% to tainted your perception of the system, I have played a lot of MMOs with such system and yes I had my run ins with the rude ones but also encounter good ones. I've had far more good experience than bad but the problem with some of you is that you have allow those bad experiences to over run the many good ones. Unless anyone can present hard facts the the cross-server does not work then please stop stating it as a fact.
  21. If someone think there is a better way for players to form groups in a more timely and effective way please stated. Having a LFG matchmaking system allows for players to run content on their own time without having to waste time spamming general (BTW, lot of players miss what is being said in chat due to getting quests or turning them in) or have to pause what they are doing.
  22. A neutral GTN is pointless in the game period, people simply trade through the legacy characters. The fact is neutral trading systems don't work in any MMO.
  23. @ OP The hate is not directed at the LFG tool but the cross-server version of it. A good LFG tool is needed for this MMO and it's was a huge oversight to launch this game without one in place. I'm not sure if this is anyone experience, but for me I have only been in only two flashpoints when I leveled my Trooper to level 50. The reason for this is because I have a limited time and sitting on a spacestation spamming general chat was not a fun way of spenting that time. I believe this game needs a LFG matchmaking system with some cross server connection within limits, within the following order: 1. Placing players together from within same server (Players given an option stay within the same) 2. Placing players together from other servers
  24. Well yeah players could use chat, but that fact that our character's have voices with Light/Dark overtones I believe it's fitting within the context of the cutscenes of the flashpoints.
