  1. Every time I'm tanking the Terror from Beyond fight, i immediately die on porting up to phase 2. This seems to be directly related to being top threat - if i force cloak off the threat table just before teleport, I no longer die. The other people who happen to then be at top threat after force cloak do not die. I do not know what is causing this.
  2. 'Revan' was disappointing, not for the story, but in its brevity and lack of anything worth caring about. I'm with the above poster; this book was written to explain the 'Jedi Prisoner' questline, and the Lord Scourge companion character. That's it. Also, the Scourge character in game... is not at all what I expected after reading this. He doesn't seem angry enough.. or in great, searing pain.

Recommend Shadows of the Empire, I, Jedi, The Courtship of Princess Leia, Vector Prime, Heir to the Empire (starts a trilogy) None of the Star Wars books are really 'great literature' - most are just north of the 'young adult' caliber of reading, however they're amusing for a day or two. The above books are good enough to warrant a second read. They do follow an order, they do reference each other, but they all give a good enough picture of where in the timeline they occur, and they sum up anything you need to know, so go ahead and read them in any order.
  4. i'll go with this. i'm just tired of MMO pacing is all. I bet you a AAA title you can find more creative ways to space out the story that don't leave me saying 'god, *another* 20 minute speeder ride to have to 'defeat' *anotehr* 30 mobs to get my story fix. Your average novel doesn't have this many fight scenes - or even movies. This medium doesn't need to, either. I want to play all eight classes to story completion... i just don't want to grind out 48 x 8 levels.
  5. By stabbing them repeatedly with a Lightsaber, oft times with a jumping smash. Yep, that'll do a body good.
  6. You're doing it wrong. Either A) you're not properly specc'd for healing, meaning your heals are inefficient/cost too much ammo. B) you are undergeared/prepared for the encounter, meaning your companion or yourself die too quickly for efficient heals to land. C)you are mis-managing the ammo resource. If C, allow me to present the following review: Ammo regenerates faster the more you have of it. Just to the right of your ammo count is a series of four arrows, that when you have 80%(ish) or greater ammo, will look like this: >>>>. When you use your ammo, those go down to three >>>, then two >>, then one >, then no arrows. Getting below three arrows is bad, becuase you're then using your powers faster than ammo regenerates. So, use your abilities wisely. Instead of Heal Heal Heal, try Heal, shoot, Heal, shoot, Heal. If an emergency comes up and you ned to heal, heal, heal, then that's when you use Reload to give you a shot of more ammo, keeping you above three arrows. Too be fair, this is *never* explained in game, you're expected to figure it out on your own.
  7. MMO mean massively multiplayer. Not massive slaughter in single-player mode. I do not feel that the game will be less exciting if i'm not killing 20 people becuase 'they're in my way'. All the 'trash mobs' is just pacing, keeping me from finishing the story (which is what I really want). The only reason I have to kill all these people is because if I don't, I get to the next hub of the story to early to be effective and get killed. I just want the story, not the slaughter. Sure, yes, I'm defending myself. But again - carbonite grenades. You rush at me with a vibrosword, I freeze you and take out of the fight. You 'wake up' later, and I'm long gone. Why is that a worse option? Most of the 'trash' mobs are just there as jobs, really. trying to feed their families. If you take away the leadership, they'll find other employment. If they're trully malicious, well then have someone come by and cart their frozen selves to jail. The fact that role-playing games focus on killing to level is a limitation placed on them by the design of original RPGs from the 60s. Why can't you make a Metal Gear or Splinter Cell MMO? Where the objective is going *around* the bad guys.
  8. This bugged the crap out of me, as well. The very first interaction you have with Satale Shan, as a Jedi Knight (its not spoilers if you get to it in 3 minutes from reroll), she asks how you feel after having to kill a human. 'Killing is very emotional/hard/etc'. Except that I've just slaughtered about 80 sentient species on my way to that conversation. Yes, they're 'Flesh Raiders' and will eat us, but still. Not to mention the fact that as soon as I hit Coruscant, I'm killing hundreds of gangsters and imperials. I'm with the OP here. the whole point of being Jedi is to resolve things non-violently. It wasn't until I was level 42 on Belsavis that they introduced carbonite grenades, which take any normal/trash mob completely out of the fight with minimal effort, and no ill effect to their longevity. Why isn't this an option from the get-go, and only available for two quests? As far as game mechanics, you get XP for 'defeating' an opponent, not killing them. So, if I talk down, stealth past, or force persuade people not to fight me - guess what, I've just defeated that encounter. Much more difficult? Yes. But no one ever said being a Jedi was Easy. Hell, I'll stroll right in to a gangster base with a gigantic dolly of Corellian Ale. You think they'll still shoot me?
  9. There's a couple things like this that get me. It's obvious differnt writers wrote the different choices, because they're not consistent. And most times, I feel like they fail to see the bigger picture. Like, on Ord Mantel. I gave the stolen meds back to the republic, because they're soldiers fighting to save lives. Why should I give it to beggars, who produce nothing, and just consume? But, Dark Side points becasue it wasn't "feel good" socialism. On Korriban, I was asked to judge three prisoners. The guy who was innocent, I let go. Why? Because he will then tell everyone how merciful the Sith were, and garner support for the Empire. My Master didn't see things this way. Fool. Also, on Tython, when you first talk to Satele Shen (sp?), she says 'was killing him tough for you? Taking a life is a hard thing'... except I've spent the last hour murdering the Flesh Raiders, who're obviously sentient, and then kill thousands of beings on my way up the XP chain. Very odd. There are more dubious LS/DS points, but those are the one's I've done repeatedly, so i actually remember them
  10. Because even with 'good intentions', they're still Statist, and therefore cannot, by defintion, be 'Good'. Capitalist Anarchy is the only 'good' society. Government, by its very definition, can only coerce and steal. Smugglers for the win =)
  11. There are a ton of Sith force users, and they recruit more all the time; the Sith are living embodiments of a twisted Peter's Principle: All Sith want to be the Emporer/Dark Lord. All Sith will rise to their level of incompletence, and then get killed. Once you get to the very top, you have #1, with his chosen successor - who he expects will succeed him violently. If he does not, he is not worthy. So, not being familiar with Darth Bane's story, from what I gather of the above he had the right idea for keeping the strength of the organization within the limits of the Sith code. Only, if they don't keep that recruitment going full speed, they'll kill themselves off eventually, so if it came down to only two, the master and the apprentice - that apprentice *has* to recruit his own, in order to keep the Sith going once he kills the Master. I would call it an unspoken, 'gentlemen's' agreement. Because also as mentioned, there's nothing stopping the current Master from taking on the current Apprentice's pupil for his own, and killing the Apprentice! It creates a good competition, so the best candidate wins.
