Exactly, f2p in LESS than a year, over 2 million subs lost, PvP community DEAD, hardcore PvE community DEAD, focus on cash shop to gouge remaining customers, lack of endgame content, appalling phone support, etc.

This, however Wildstar was the nail in the coffin to ranked.

TOR is more broken than Wildstar ever will be. When it comes to PvP Wildstar > TOR. TOR is dying in subs and players overall while Wildstar is THRIVING.

They were desirable, but get it through your head that only a MINORITY asked for them. You would have a few posts here and there about the implementation of arenas, but rarely did they ever receive traction because most players wanted more expansive, collaborative, and skilled PvP, and they certainly never asked for the removal of ranked 8s for arenas. Plus there was even a HATE thread about arenas that listed MANY astute points on how flawed the 4s meta would be in this game. Moreover, anyone who did ranked 8s were not bad. Ranked 8s objectively takes more skill than 4s, and on the bright side the meta is easier to balance, fix, and improve. One of the main reasons the ranked 8s community was small was because of how cliquey it was. I'm pretty sure Pistols summed up some other points earlier in this thread or in another but there's no reason to beat a dead horse on this topic. However, if you're going to be ignorant of the facts then more power to you. In addition, just to shed some enlightenment on the popularity of ranked 8s vs. ranked 4s, the community for the 8s meta was much larger than the 4s. Team ranked 4s is dead and since Wildstar was the nail in the coffin for any serious PvP in this game it's getting hard for even solo ranked on basically every server to pop consistently.

P2Rep is a form of P2W, and in general its been proven TOR is still P2W. I'm not a blind Biodrone apologist.

Creative? bringing brand new perspectives? I'm not sure I would call coercing your f2p'ers and psp'ers to sub and reskinning virtually all your cosmetics creative or bringing brand new perspective. EAware has done NOTHING to make TOR the triple A MMO its supposed to be.

The main reason why there are those that are saying 4s were never desirable was because it is true. Looks like you are new here, welcome to SWTOR f2p. By the way, I know multiple former ranked 8 stars who agree with the same assessment. Right after ranked 8s were canned they all unsubscribed and quit.

Despite the laggy, buggy mess TOR was at launch and it lacked endgame content (still does to this day), TOR pre-F2P will always be what it was during its prime because even though it was getting LOTS of criticism at least it will still getting attention and exposure. TOR has done so bad now however and has bled so many players that no one in the MMO community cares about TOR.

LOL it was just a minority that requested for arenas, if you were on these forums since launch you'd know. IIRC there was even an ANTI-arena thread and many PvPers pointed out how the meta just was not created in mind for 4s and how imbalanced it would be (which it is right now).
