  1. Basically the same trand as yesterday, but the lone Merc was pushed back, replacing with ... another Vanguard. So the top 1-10: 5 Powertech/Vanguard 3 Sorcerer/Sage 2 Assassin/Shadow Top 1-50: 21 Powertech/Vanguard 13 Assassin/Shadow 10 Sorcerer/Sage 3 Mercenary/Commando 3 Operative/Scoundrel 0 Juggernaut/Guardian 0 Sniper/Gunslinger 0 Marauder/Sentinel Top 1-100: 34 Powertech/Vanguard 31 Assassin/Shadow 20 Sorcerer/Sage 7 Operative/Scoundrel 4 Mercenary/Commando 3 Juggernaut/Guardian 1 Sniper/Gunslinger 0 Marauder/Sentinel Best Marauder at 1466: 74 Powertech/Vanguard 69 Assassin/Shadow 51 Sorcerer/Sage 20 Operative/Scoundrel 14Juggernaut/Guardian 8 Sniper/Gunslinger 1 Marauder/Sentinel So the conclusion of yesterday: Powertech/Vanguard is best, but Assassin/Shadow is close. (to be continued)
  2. Top 10 at this moment, consists of 5 Powertechs+Vanguards. They are also by best in 1-50, and 1-100, So, obviously you play the class wrong (not sure what, depends upon a lot of things)
  3. The cold numbers actually say, Powertech and Vanguards perform better then Assassins. Best adv classes are now (20150215): 1 Powertech/Vanguard 2 Assassin/Shadow 3 Sorcerer/Sage (big gap) 4 Operative/Scoundrel 5 Juggernaut/Guardian 6 Mercenary/Commando 7 Sniper/Gunslinger (big gap) 8 Marauders/Sentinels
  4. I have played the Gunslinger quite a bit at around level 60, and died very, very fast. Now that I play as Assassin, I rarely die, I do much more damage. Now, Republic in general is worse then Empire (1), but here the issue I want address is class balance. In my own games, I discovered the team with more Gunslingers/Snipers and Sentinels/Marauders perform much less, while those with lots of Assassins or Sorcerers won almost always. These numbers seem to confirm my hypoyhesis, these are the cold facts, you can't deny there's a tendency. Bioware maybe looks at damage wise, but doesn't look at how one class performs against another. If the damage between an Assassin is roughly equal to a Sniper, but the Assassin can mitigate and heal while doing damage, whereas the Sniper has his one heal on cooldown, then you understand one puzzle piece why Assassins are better. Secondly, Assassins can pick and choose there fights, Snipers can't. If a fight goes bad, the Assassins pop Force Cloak and go back in stealth, the Sniper just dies. Or from 51, the Assassin pops Phase Walk, teleports away. So while the Sniper is dead, and anxious to go back into battle, the Assassin heals himself, and fights again, making more points, helps team mates etc. The balance in PVP between these two is just wrong. No matter if you play DPS, Healer, or Tank, or whatever Adv class, I want this game to be BALANCED. If I perform bad, because I play bad then I want to know, not because I played a bad/unplayable adv class.
  5. Incomplete how? Hybrids, what are you smoking? I'm merely reorganizing data from Leader board, a button you also have, just above. It talks about rating, no matter what they did. One Merc is in top10, and 4 in top100, so that lonely top10 Merc is doing better then he should. Of course, its early in season, things will change, but there is a tendency, no matter how you look at it.
  6. Look at leaderboard and you would agree with me, Sorcerers are overpowered. Only Powertech + Vanguard and Assassin + Shadows do better. Stop complaining, and know you're class should be nerfed. REALLY
  7. If you wanne do ranged damage in PVP you have to be Sorcerer or Sage. Or wait and wait and wait till Bioware changes balance...
  8. Look at leaderboard for yourself. Snipers and Gunslingers all do pretty bad. Only Marauder+Sentinel are worse.
  9. Top 1-10: 4 Powertech+Vanguard 3 Assassin + Shadow 2 Sorcerer + Sage 1 Mercenary + Commando Top 1-50: 20 Powertech + Vanguard 14 Assassins + Shadows 10 Sorcerer + Sage 2 Juggernauts + Guardians 2 Mercenary + Commando 2 Operative + Scoundrel 0 Sniper + Gunslinger 0 Marauder + Sentinel Top 1-100: 34 Powertech + Vanguard 28 Assassin + Shadow 19 Sorcerer + Sage 8 Operative + Scoundrel 5 Juggernaut + Guardian 4 Mercenary + Commando 2 Sniper + 2 Gunslinger 0 Marauder + Sentinel Best Marauder has rating of 1430, how many above the first Marauder + Sentinel ? 77 Assassin + Shadow 73 Powertech + Vanguard 61 Sorcerer + Sage 23 Operative + Scoundrel 18 Juggernaut + Guardian 10 Mercenary + Commando 9 Sniper + Gunslinger 1 Marauder + Sentinel So it seems that one Mercenary in top10 performce much better then the rest but still, what can we say from all this? Powertech+Vanguard are only marginally better then Assassin + Shadow then a small gap and the Sorcerer + Sage then a HUGE gap with Operative+Scoundrel, Juggernaut + Guardian, Mercenary + Commando, then a small gap with Sniper + Gunslinger then the unplayable Marauder + Sentinel What does balance mean ?
  10. Yes true! Today, I played PVP Hatred Assassin level 57 didn't die even once (I know 56-59 are over-bolstered ok), and I killed many. But when I compare the struggle as my Gunslinger, the gap HUGE (I can't compare it yet with Powertech/Vanguard)
  11. Well, try to play as a Gunslinger, and try to stay alive for more then 5 seconds while fighting. While Gunslingers and Snipers can shine, but only in winning teams. No Gunslingers, Snipers, Marauders or Sentinels in first 40. Just 1 Operative at 28 and 1 Scoundrel at 40.
  12. So, since half of the community is Sith Inq, it seems (commercially) not a bad idea to make Ashara Zavros' species now a playable race. I was looking at the current Leaderboards, and the first Operative is at 28, the first Scoundrel on 40. Sniper and Gunslinger are apparently, left to rot. Just as in 3.0, and 2.X. The best Marauders and Sentinels are even below them. Balance is clearly way off...
  13. Well, if you think Assassins are to strong, reroll an Assassin yourself. Lets rename the game Assassins Empire (or something)
  14. Best tip for a Sniper is: reroll a Sorc or Assassin
  15. For Powertech's, Unload is a very interesting key ability to do ranged damge, not only melee damage. Why is Buioware is telling us how to play? Anyway, the weird thing is that my Assassin still can use Electrocute, Shock, Force Lightning. Although only at 10 meters range, in pvp those three (the first) stun and (all) do decent damage. So yes, choose Assassin or Sorcerer. All other classes are only for weirdos. Operative/Scoundrel has awesome Orbital Strike/Fly By? NERF and remove! Powertech getting close, cut away ability! Its a Sorc/Assassin only game damn it!
  16. Sniper/Gunslinger is fun in normal quests and all Rishi Yavin things, I kill everything rediculously fast. But pvp currently is broken and gunslingers and snipers basically have no place there. Unless... you're level 27-29. Or if you're a Sniper, NOT Gunslinger (cause Empire wins a lot more then Republic). Unless you play with guildies and all microphones etc. But for the regulat PUG-PVP-er it was very hard in 2.10, even more challenging in 3.0. Better to rerole a Sorcerer, or Assassin. Mercs are way better then Snipers, but still also crap.
  17. "I got you!" "I heal you with Jedi power" "Weee" "Did I do something wrong?" "No fish jokes" - Guss Tuno
  18. Well, a few months ago, I started with my gunslinger and each time a new companion came, I watched the amount of kills with that companion. Soon as its 1000, on to the next. It all went well, except that I got Guss when I almost completed Rishas 1000, so I skipped Akaavi, till the very last (with her I now also have 1000 kills). The only thing is to be a few levels higher then the pve mission and everything is super easy, any companion will do (except ship droid). So yes, a Gunslinger and Risha works pretty good, even though we were actaully both squeshy.
  19. Well, thyen I would add, I loved the sucker punch him in the face. It is very distinguishable. Its good, along with the giggle being back, yesss. Sound wise, the scoundrel is awesome. After I completed the Scoundrel to 50 (then the max level), I re-rolled a Sniper also to 50. I liked both stories. I was mad when suddenly (spoiler alert) my Kaliyo was imprisoned. Anyways, yes the Agent story is great, but watching your boss put down by a sith, and agents without a name, being totally unimportant, sith is everything made me feel bad. Compare this to the Smuggler, they don't care about Jedi or Sith, pfft. Smugglers do what they like best, explore the galaxy and make a ton of money. They bow to no-one. Companion wise, Smuggler beats the ImpAgents easily. Do you really like an insect-companion, and a female droid companion? However, yes, the story of ImpAgent has a lot more depth, intrigue. Its clear they put a lot of effort in him.
  20. What you're proposing is actually very bad. However, what could be done is: - get rid of pvp gear (fixes double grind/fixes low pvp gear issues); - make ALL pvp ranked (fixed issue (on Red Eclipse) where you can wait for hours for a ranked match); - introduce something like a rating system as is known in chess for many years (probably they already have, but they are clueless what to do with it); - make sure good players play against good players, bad players against bad. (you could argue, change all classes to level 60 Sorcs since they are the most popular, and the most overpowered,, and so then its all even, but thats not the point here) A tip for Bioware: search for Swiss-system tournament, the implementations already exist (Starcraft), introduced in 1895, but still to modern for Bioware... Why this is important (seriously and honoustly) in any game you want to win around 50%, and lose around 50%. THEN you have fun. THEN you start investigate how to improve etc. Once you win 80% or more its to easy, you leave. If you loose around 80% its to hard (reason is not important here), and you also leave.
  21. In low-brackets: 27-29 beat the lowbies like they don't exist. In mid-brackets: the 56-59 beat those below 50 like they don't exist. Then of course there's Imp winning 2 out of 3 matches. And Sorcs/Assassins/Powertech/Jugg beat the other adv classes. Good gear beats bad gear. Skill is still important, but to a lesser extent. E.g. when you enter a fight and you can just watch how your team is being vaporized because of the above, then its quickly 3 or 4 against you alone. No skill can help you then (except run away, the clock ticking and the nodes in their favors).
  22. Switch to Hatred/Serenity, problem solved! Gee that was the easiest solution!
  23. Ehm Bioware added another one: Unlimited Power. So they admit it even in your face. Check out their new level 56 ability. No other AC has this God-ability.
  24. Well, you could create a new toon with the most op class. Problem solved right?
  25. I loved Scrapper in 1.X, but many nerves later, and new weird stuff added, I stopped that spec. Notice also the Fly-by, is a bye bye. So, I'm not sure, but I think in PVP you should either play the Healer (Medicine/Sqwbones), or the dot-spec DPS (Lethality/Ruffian). Wizbasky is a fan of concealment and is doing very well. Although probably Sorcs and Assassins are better. So play Scrapper on Rishi/Yavin4, in PVP one of the other two specs.
