  1. I know it's been suggested before but for the sake of showing sustained interest, please add a crew skills vendor personnel decoration to the Cartel Market. A good idea would be to offer vendors in various races (got catch/collect them all!). Preferably female Twi'lek, Togruta, Chiss, and/or a droid like Scorpio would be nice. If you won't place them in the CM directly, at least consider adding them to a pack shipment in the immediate future. Thanks.
  2. To those that made a purchase for swtor via the Origin client and were able to download and install through it, when you launch the game does it still bring up the swtor launcher and require you to login to it? I got a new HD and did a clean install for Win 10. I liked how Steam serves as a portal for various games launching them and even logging into them for ya or at least logging into the launch for you to hit "play" when it comes up. I imagined Origin working the same way for swtor. After installing Origin, I couldn't find any way to download and install swtor directly through the client short of possibly making a purchase through it. I ended up installing swtor outside of Origin and adding the game to the client but it just brings up the launcher and I have to conduct a second login function. I was just wondering if it worked same way regardless if you installed through the Origin client directly or added the game?
  3. I was thinking about it and couldn't figure out a good reason why not to change the current ranked mission objectives from "win" to "play?" With the changes they made to PVP involving removing the old rank comm system, the missions are just extra comms and PVP consumables. It's not really a fix but may foster activity on servers where the solo ranked queue doesn't pop too often giving it a shot in the arm. Otherwise, they'll be accessible goals (to a larger population) to fulfill for extra comms/consumables/creds or/and personal/guild conquest (if it ties in?). I think it'll be a good change. Thoughts?
  4. Few things to consider: 1) Mob compositions - All standards? One gold? A silver and a couple of standards? 2) Mob densities - Are they all nicely clustered? Are they spread out? 3) Mob abilities/behavior - CC? Repositions? Heals? 4) Distances between other mobs - Within range of a leap? Far enough to just finish the pack before moving on to the next? There will be some instances where one spec is more ideal than the other or equal for both. I think it averages out, that's why I say one is not worse than the other. Whether one is more efficient than another, it's to a negligible degree based on the games current state/content.
  5. Undoubtedly, there is a difference in the feel of the playstyle of the three specializations. Despite this, the game's content has been made easy enough that currently the differences are negligible with respect to their being an ideal specialization for leveling. Mobs die rather quickly regardless of specialization while leveling and you'll zip through levels just the same with any of the three. Again, any will do so just pick the one you find the most interesting and fun to play for the sake of leveling. Side note, Concentration does have improved mobility but Combat's is no worse than Watchman's. Combat can also target switch easily. It's Watchman that'll struggle with switching.
  6. Not what you'll probably want to hear but you've hit the nail on the head, "any will do..." Especially, since they've streamlined stuff and companions scale off your gear now.
  7. I've searched around and found various sources that didn't quite have up-to-date information on this subject. I currently have 5 primary only, 5 secondary only, and 30 primary and secondary dyes....40 total. Are there more?
  8. Disregard post, I forgot about bolster. Although, I remember reading you don't want to replace piece by piece because it screws with the way bolster calculates?
  9. OP, I'm not sure if you mean by generally glancing at the ops frames or when you have someone targeted but hopefully some of these in-game settings can help. Go into your UI editor which is the "+" found near the lock on your main bar or through hitting "Esc" and selecting it there. The various in-game UI frames will be displayed along with the main UI editing window. The UI editor window displays a list of global settings by default. Clicking on frames brings up their individual settings in this window. The frames that you'd be looking for are ops and/or target's buffs. You are able to increase the buff size or move the target's buff frame from it's normal location to one that better suits your purpose.
  10. There was a post in the general forum about this but should have been posted here. I'd just like to call attention to a bug where companions which seem to be flagged as "Guest" for class missions are not appearing and are not listed in the Companions And Contacts window or the Crew Skills window which prevents players from progressing their class story lines.
  11. A friend I'm trying to get back into the game has the same problem. He's a level 44 Jedi Consular (Sage) and can't progress his class quest which requires Nadia Grell for the mission Fearless. He's tried the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this thread already too. Nadia is no where to be found.
  12. I'm a Jedi Sentinel who's just finished Chapter 9 in the Fallen Empires expansion. I reached influence level 25 on the T7-01 I had been using for missions when I noticed I had a second T7-01. It appears in the Companions and Contacts window and the Crew Skills window. I'm sure they're separate companions as the influence level of the second T7-01 is only 10 currently. When I summon the level 10 one, his stats are lower than the T7-01 that's level 25. When/if this bug is fixed, please retain my highest level one as I invested a good chunk of my resources and time in my level 25 companion.
  13. As a combat sent, I currently have Centering as a utility because most of the guides have it as highly recommended/mandatory. Does this selection still stand? I'm not doing progression or dummy parsing currently. I just find in Ops I only get to make use of this utility once per boss fight (or none if the tank pulls before I finish channeling). Are there other viable options? If so, which? Thanks.
  14. Unflagging takes 5 minutes to take affect and you pretty much have to remove yourself from the scene for the duration. Anyone who has jumped you whether you killed him or he killed you would have to do this multiple times to abuse it and is pretty much inconvenient. Even then, it becomes predictable. With being perm-flagged, you can always avoid retribution by leaving zone/logging. It's not that much of a saving grace, in my opinion. What exactly do you mean by "WARS"? From my experience, OWPvP on PvP servers in other MMO's boiled down to a group of folks saying let's have a brawl at this location and it's a chaotic deathmatch until interest waned and numbers dwindled. If you're describing it as a homemade type of WZ with objectives, then that's kinda like RP-PvP. Either way, server merging would still have you covered without forcing people to abandon their preferred method of play. As far as the shoe being on the other foot with PvE servers being subsumed into PvP or RP, that's another reason I think all server type designation should be dropped. No one type will feel like they're being phased out. I think this route opens more doors than it would close.
  15. They should drop the server designations altogether, in my opinion. Like it was said previously, no need for PvP servers as people can flag themselves for OWPvP. I'm more of a PvE'er but rolled my characters on a RP server because the people that introduced me to the game were on one. They've stopped playing but by the time it happened, I was too invested in the server and my "roots" firmly planted that I have no interest in transferring or re-rolling on a new server. Being on my RP server, the chat is constantly filled with LFM/G for Heroics/FPs/Ops, WTS goods and services, some SW/off-topic discussion, trolling/flaming, or gold spamming. Joining PuGs for Heroics/FPs/Ops or WZ/GSFs, I've not encountered anyone RP'ing the "adventure". I have a few of my early characters parked in RP guilds on both factions. The guilds are still active but it seems all RP is conducted during organized events solely. Since the RP seems to occur in closed organized circuits, there isn't a general overall sense of RP on the server. It's an atmosphere where PvE'ers and RP'ers can easily coexist. Most of the grief I see RP'ers get comes from other RP'ers. It's the one person in the guild who didn't get what they want or thinks it's fun to make an alt to mess with an RP event or two different RP events scheduled to happen at the same time and location with neither side wanting to compromise.
  16. Hard to say. Leveling my slinger, non-silver/golds would drop during the second cast of sweeping gunfire before I would take on the silver/gold mobs. Depending how much damage I've sustained and what the next pack looks like, there would be breaks to get back my health and/or my comp's. My assassin would just zip to the last mission mob/pack and then quick travel out to turn in the objective without the stopping unless I ran into stealth probing droids. Killing stuff does give you more xp and some credits though.
  17. For someone still relatively new to the game, I recommend solely doing the class missions which would get you to roughly 50 give or take a level at the end of chapter 3. This allows you to enjoy and fully experience the class story while leveling provided you haven't leveled a similar class already? I would imagine if the class you're leveling is new to you, it would help with the "bored" factor as it would seem like you're taking part in an interactive "show" since the story unfolds quickly enough to keep it fresh in your mind and making it easier to follow and encouraging you to progress. That said here are a couple of points to consider: -Gearing: You'll level quite rapidly and it's hard to keep it current. Try to pre-plan your gear upgrade level ranges and craft or buy cheap GTN upgrades (greens) to avoid interrupting a productive leveling streak due to it becoming painful because doing the missions becomes very tough due to gearing. Guildies might be able to help with your gearing too. -Companions: If you know you're going to stick with one, keep their gear relatively current as well otherwise they'll just start dying quickly and won't be of much help to you. Plus, always having to rez them after each fight slows you down. If resources don't allow for you gearing the comp as well, just use the most recent companion you've obtained as their starting gear is level appropriate. -Mobility: I know you said you're new to the game but I'm not sure how new? Obviously, get a speeder as it beats running around everywhere. Depending on your Legacy level and how many credits you have, you might be able to unlock quick travel, ship, and fleet (not needed as much) transport perks. Also, strongholds like the DK/Coruscant provide quick access and I found certain classes call you back to those places quite often provided. If you don't care about the story and are just looking for some tips to powerlevel your character (which I don't recommend for a new player), still only do the class missions but spacebar through the conversations (careful if alignment matters to you). The moment you hit level 47 head to Makeb and get the GSI bolster and you'll fly through 47-55. Also if you do decide to enjoy the story, once you finish chapter 3, head to Makeb as well picking up the bolster and go from 50-55. Once you hit 55, you can start doing the new expansion material provided you got SoR. I've personally found both the shadow/assassin and sage/sorc AC's easier to level due to stealthing through and avoiding fights or strong AoE. All AC's are fine but ones mentioned above I personally found easiest from my experience. Hope that helps.
  18. Yeah, I'm definitely aware the main stat is what I benefit the most from. I just wasn't sure if the main stat superseded its "sister" stat or also benefitted from it. Thanks for clearing that up. True, it's not much but I thought I remember reading on the forums that when there is a low amount of a stat (in this case, aim for me), gains you receive from the first couple hundred or so points of that stat will be the most valuable? For instance, in the 100-200 aim range, each point of aim would yield a 0.015 increase per point of aim before it dropped off to 0.005...or something to that effect. Meaning you could get close to a 1% gain and making getting the aim datacrons worth it? Is that correct? Thanks again. *Edit: Just to clear up any possible confusion, the numbers I picked were only for the example not saying those are the actual values as I'm not sure what they are.*
  19. Hello. Do the bonuses from the other stats aside from your primary stack?...for example, cunning/aim and strength/willpower. I was planning on getting all the relevant datacrons (cunning and endurance) for my scrapper when I noticed aim also increased ranged dmg/crit but I'm not sure if adds to my damage or cunning takes the place of it as my primary stat? Wondering if it's worth getting aim datacrons too if all I'm interested in is the damage increase? Appreciate it.
  20. I do and I've tried it. I eliminated that option because those type of crystals like the purple outline crystal are cooler rather than warmer and the animations tend to appear warmer, at least on my screen. Thanks for the response, though.
  21. Howdy. I'm trying to match my sorc's lightsaber color crystal to the lightning animations. I think I've narrowed it down to either the derelict-purple or the regular purple crystal. Opinions? Appreciate it.
  22. Greetings. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a blaster rifle graphic I'm trying to find. I'm looking for the one on the gun racks on the trooper ship in the room where Aric Jorgan is found. I believe they're also found on gun racks in emcampents on Taris Imp side. I've tried searching the Supply and Combat vendors on Fleet and GTN but no dice. Are they obtainable? Thanks.
  23. It also depends on how you are taking advantage of the Epic Story XP Boost? Are you strictly doing the class missions with the intention of speed leveling? This is the impression I'm getting. If so, trying to keep your crew skills current while doing this won't work out well. Especially if you're trying to pick up a crafting crew skill in hopes of using it to keep your gear current while leveling. You just gain levels too fast. You'll constantly need to stop leveling and focus on the crafting skill to catch up which may include farming, waiting for comps to return for mats, or buying off the GTN unless you have the mats set aside already to level the crew skill. I'd say the best compromise would be to pick up gathering or mission crew skills and send the comps out to do them while you're leveling that way you have some progress made without hampering your leveling time. Even then you'll probably need to play catch up once you finished leveling but at least you won't be starting from near scratch. A good idea, if you are speed leveling, is to plan out what levels you'd like to update your gear. Then go and look for inexpensive gear on GTN (greens) at those levels or/and have guildies help craft them. That way you have full sets to go while leveling and the gearing won't be an issue. I find any where between 7-10 levels is my rule of thumb for upgrading. YMMV. Otherwise, if you don't mind stopping and taking prolonged breaks, then you can focus on the crew skills to keep them current.
